I can’t continue, he is also gets weird when I go out in the evening and accuses me of being with other men and said it’s my fault because of my past

You really need to end the relationship

Why?

Tell him it's none of his business and if he can't deal with that then the doors over there.

Tbh there will be other things that he's controlling about. It never stops there.

Edited

Agree with this. Either tell him it's none of his business or be honest and see his reaction. Either way his response will speak volumes and tell you all you need to know about whether you need to show him the door. Strongly suspect you do.

ShutupLwren · Today 08:32

@2026dreams this is how dangerous men start, looking for ways to upset themselves. Please listen to us, leave. He’s not normal.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · Today 08:33

He's an abuser with deeply unnerving attitudes to women and sex.

I just can’t understand why he cares so much about something that happened 25 years ago

You don’t need to understand it. It’s nonsense. You just need to end it with him.

theemmadilemma · Today 08:37

Ugh do you need Red Flag guy or are you already seeing them now?

cartagenagina · Today 08:42

In the bin with him. He’s weird and controlling.

Ponderingwindow · Yesterday 23:00

This feels like a normal conversation to me. The whole, you are sleeping with every person that person has ever slept with thing. So you share lists. It’s a normal part of dating and safer sex, at least it was the last time I was dating.

Nooooo! When was that, 2002? God no.

A general picture maybe, if the other person is sane. OP’s situation is so different - he’s already being judgemental and negative and a down right freak (not in a good way).

Fupoffyagrasshole · Today 08:44

why are you even giving this guy so much headspace - id have just said this isn't working for me anymore - bye! blocked - move on with my life

Ubugly · Today 08:44

That is such wierd behaviour and none of his business.

I wouldn't even be able to recall probably half of my sex life history, names or even faces and tbh it can stay that way.

Block him.

EveryoneUsingOutro · Today 08:44

2026dreams · Yesterday 22:58

I feel peace tonight since he stopped talking to me

So you will end the relationship, yes?

TabardOfDoom · Today 08:48

localnotail · Today 07:35

This is even REMOTEDLY not normal.

You may mention serious relationships you had, marriages, that kind of thing, as a general life history discussion. Not list in detail every shag starting from the time you were a teenager, and especially not on demand. Its intrusive, inappropriate and weird.

OP - bin this weirdo.

This 100%.

@2026dreams YOU reject HIM now. He has more issues than a scrap yard Alsatian. He will continue to make your life a misery otherwise.

I would text him and tell him you have found someone else, just for shits and giggles. They hate that stuff!

Quite right. If someone asked me about my past, I’d tell them it’s none of their business. No one ever has. IMHO ‘body count’ is an awful expression.

If they said they’d never have dated me if they knew about my past, I’d say “We won’t date then. See you”.

Why would you be attracted to a man like this? He sounds awful.

2026dreams · Today 08:52

I have ended it he said he can’t accept my past unless I tell him my sexual history so I hung up on him and we haven’t spoken since
we aren’t tied financially or anything like that
I have been with him three years and he is getting worse, I guess I just got more and more ground down trying to please him

OP posts:
julesplusvodka · Today 08:54

As he is 50 you are obviously old enough to know that this is wrong. So just get on with pulling up your big girl knickers and dump the twat.

And there we go. Another red flag. It's almost as though the posters on here knew. Sorry you wasted 3 years on him. Don't waste time again on someone. Not your job to fix them. He can go back to the internet for validation

2026dreams · Today 08:55

I guess I can get my head around why someone cares about what I did 25 years ago, he said he doesn’t know me anymore

This is horrible. How could you relax and have fun?
The plan is that you would always be thinking of him when you go out, you start watching your behaviour and your words, you go out less and less etc.
What are you getting from this relationship?
Why haven't you left him yet?
When you do leave, prepared to be accused of all sorts and to be called all the sluts and whores of the day.

2026dreams · Today 08:55

Anyway onward and upwards I guess 😊

Well done for recognising it. Now block him everywhere because he's set you up as his victim and he's not going to give up.

Shoxfordian · Today 08:56

Good decision op

Serenitymummy · Today 08:57

Well done OP, this is the best thing that could have happened in this situation. That was a slippery slope and you're better off without him.

Yupstillhere · Today 09:00

Well done, you've done the right thing. The more I read of the things he'd said the more crazy he sounded. He wasn't giving you peace and happiness.

EveryoneUsingOutro · Today 09:02

WhereYouLeftIt · Today 05:37

He doesn't care about what happened - he cares about having a stick to beat you with.

He wants to 'have something on you', something that he can use against you, to constantly express disappointment about you and have you dancing a merry jig to placate, to reassure, to be his fucking inferior. He's an inadequate man who wants to feel Big and the only way he knows is to make other people feel Small. If you'd have mentioned shoplifting when you were twelve he'd have happily used that, but it's easier to use your 'past', because there's very few people who don't have one!

So, have a word with yourself - why do you feel you have to accept his behaviour? Because although you're asking here about it, to date you have accepted it, haven't you? My guess would be is that he's found your vulnerability (we all have one) and is playing on that. Calling you promiscuous and making you feel dirty? He's a nasty one.

"I feel fucked off to be honest, no answer will be enough for him he will just accuse me of lying"
Absolutely, no answer will be enough. Why would he give up the stick to beat you with? He won't. Ever. So get rid of him now before he turns you into a shell of yourself. I'd probably turn his own words back on him. He said "he thought I was someone else and if he had known what I was like he wouldn’t have dated me". Well those words apply so much more to him, so that's what I'd say - 'I thought you were a decent man and if I'd known you were a prick with a taste for coercive control I would never have dated you. Bye.'

All of this.

Every partner I've had has, at one point or another, asked about my sexual past. I've just told them, I don't really see any reason not to.

Same with infidelities, drug use, etc etc.

Realistically, if there's something there that doesn't work for them I'd rather know sooner than later.

I would talk about significant relationships but not casual ones or ones that didn’t go anywhere. It’s irrelevant. What I did at 20 bears no relationship to whom I might be later on in life.
