Boyfriend can’t accept my past

My partner wants to know about my sexual past and everyone I have slept with, is this normal ? He wants to know details of people I slept with 27 years ago

My DSis met someone like this online. They hadn’t yet met in person but his convos were full of how his late wife was so pure, how he hated how so many women debased themselves on social media, how he liked the look of my sister as she didn’t wear lots of make up like the “trollops” you see nowadays. My DSis told me about it and my first thought was “MN would have a field day with this guy”. I told her to run and block. She did. There are plenty of these weirdos out there.

no its the start of controlling and believe me sooner or later he will be twisting it and using it against you

He wants to know my body count and sexual history

Anyone who uses the words 'body count' would give me the serious ick.
You're not his property and your past only belongs to you and you only. You're not a used car whose mileage and servicing history needs auditing.

Dump him. Now. Immediately. Do not pass go, do not collect £200. This is a headache there is not enough paracetamol in the world to cure.

I have ended it he said he can’t accept my past unless I tell him my sexual history so I hung up on him and we haven’t spoken since
we aren’t tied financially or anything like that
I have been with him three years and he is getting worse, I guess I just got more and more ground down trying to please him

Good. Now block him and put him out of your mind. He’s a weirdo who seems to view women as IPads not humans. You need to stop wondering about why he feels the way he does. Also you both sound very young (I know you said he is 50 but you both seem younger.)

BMW58 · Today 10:14

Wonder why he's suddenly asking after 3 YEARS together!?

Bobloblaw84 · Today 10:15

In the bin.

Noddyslittleredcar · Today 10:20

Whilst I think some discussion of sexual history is normal, the level of detail and depth of information really isn't!

Notgrowing · Today 10:20

Your past as nothing to do with him end of, end it with him.

I had an ex that was like this obsessed with who I slept with years before we met.
I got rid of him.

Is there a reason for the unpleasant comment about us both sounding very young ?

just getting out of a very abusive and controlling relationship

blacksax · Today 10:28

@2026dreams Well done for dumping him. You do not need someone in your life who thinks you are an untrustworthy promiscuous slut.

You don't, he does.

Is there anything else he does that you find very odd? Because the bodycount thing sounds like he may have a pattern. Anyway, hope he stays gone and be happy going forward.

NovaF · Today 10:33

Maybe you could talk to him about it

What terrible advice!

They were dating for three years, I'm guessing he was nice to begin with otherwise if he started with this OP would have run a mile. He has slowly ground her down by fixating on her 'body count', waited all that time then when she is three years in committed then terrorizes her with her past (which she has nothing to be ashamed of).

This man deserves to have no conversations with women. ever.

After three years why would he even care how many people she slept with? Why should she need to talk to him about someone she had sex with 27 years ago? You think that is normal? After this length of times no rational, balanced person would care.

With people like him, as others have said, there will always be something used to make her feel like she can never do anything right, and he will not be happy until she is a husk. Can only imagine what the ex wife endured.

Wheresthebeach · Today 10:34

Glad you've ended it OP. Completely controlling and weird. He will only get worse and worse. Any information will be used to destroy your confidence and boundaries. Vile behaviour and there is no excuse, and no reasoning with people like this.

EvieBB · Today 10:37

MyGirlJ · Today 10:02

He care's about your body count because he's a dirty little misogynist. He bases a woman's value on how 'virtuous' he perceives her to be.

Get rid. You don't want or need a man like that in your life.

Or he's just deeply, deeply insecure. Either way, she's best rid

BMW58 · Today 10:39

That's what I don't understand NovaF

Why is he asking now after so long together?????

AQuietBatPerson · Today 10:39

Run, and don’t look back

NanFlanders · Today 10:39

Been married 22 years. DH has never once asked. Not normal at all.

This feels like a normal conversation to me. The whole, you are sleeping with every person that person has ever slept with thing. So you share lists. It’s a normal part of dating and safer sex, at least it was the last time I was dating.

From 27 years ago? Are you well?

BestZebbie · Today 10:41

2026dreams · Yesterday 21:31

He has done this, and says he thought I was someone else and if he had known what I was like he wouldn’t have dated me

So....why is he still with you now he knows? (...and why are you still with him now you know he is like this?)
Don't let the door hit you on the way out, weird manosphere-captured ex-boyfriend.

PussInBin20 · Today 10:41

Blimey has he been going on about this for 3 yrs? Or is it something new? Seems weird after all this time.

He doesn’t sound like a good partner aside from this if you can’t even talk to him. What has kept you with him? He sounds terrible.

@Ponderingwindow you can catch an STI if you've slept with 1 person and you can be STI-free if you've slept with 100 people. The only way of knowing is having an STI test before having unprotected sex. Asking a partner to have an STI test (and being willing to do the same) is a much more appropriate way of dealing with the situation than asking for a body count (I hate that term so much).
