I met a man about 3 months ago. We get on great. He’s out of a relationship 6 years now. He has been very lovey dovey from the start and has said I love you etc already. He is 32. He has a best friend who he is always talking about. They recently went on holiday and it looked like they were in the same bed I asked and he said it was two single beds they pushed together. This made me feel uncomfortable but he thought it was normal so I said nothing. I met his friend once and I said ‘nice to meet you I heard a lot about you’ his friend said ‘yeah he fancies me too hahaha’. Am I overthinking it?

Does he seem to enjoy being intimate with you?

anon990 · 14/07/2026 12:41

Yes it seems so.

Weird remark for his friend to make.

Munchie1965 · 14/07/2026 12:45

Why would they push the beds together?

mondaytosunday · 14/07/2026 12:45

It’s not normal to push two twin beds together unless you are in a romantic relationship. I think you need to have a conversation.

anon990 · 14/07/2026 12:46

Yeah I don’t know :/ they’ve both previously been in relationships with girls. they have been friends their whole life

There is more than gay or straight. Have you considered bisexual? Not sure why you go exclusively gay?

anon990 · 14/07/2026 12:49

Omg no need for that like. Whatever it is I want a straight man

Did he say they'd pushed the bed together, as in BF and his friend or as in the hotel had pushed the beds together?

IME when you book a twin (or double) room on the continent, it's quite often two singles pushed together.

If they've chosen to push beds together, that's very odd, but also I don't think he'd tell you that?

Needmorelego · 14/07/2026 12:50

He's not your "partner" if you only met 3 months ago.
Have you agreed to be exclusive in your relationship?
He could be bisexual and basically dating both of you at the same time.
Unless you ask....you won't know.

anon990 · 14/07/2026 12:51

Yeah he has asked me to be his girlfriend.

My current BF had been single a long time with a life long (married) male BF. I wondered too, as they seemed to be in touch much more than male friends usually are, but I now think that was a habit bourne out of not having had a significant other to share the day to day with, and he does it less now..

Shhhhdonottell · 14/07/2026 12:54

Most European countries have two singles pushed together to make a double. They may have come like that, and been difficult to separate due to bedding.

Yes I went to Spain recently with a friend and although twin beds they were pushed together due to the room configuration. All sounds but odd though. Maybe he is bi and testing you?

anon990 · 14/07/2026 12:57

How do you mean testing me

OP posts:
anon990 · 14/07/2026 12:58

He also does a hand gesture sometimes when he laughs that he covers his mouth it’s a bit girly . Not trying to offend anyone by saying that

OP posts:
BillieWiper · 14/07/2026 13:00

He could be bi. Or he just might have a best friend who's gay.
You should ask him?

arethereanyleftatall · 14/07/2026 13:00

Op - it isn’t a good thing if someone says they love you after a few months of dating, it’s a red flag.

To see if you’d accept him being bisexual

Gizzasec · 14/07/2026 13:13

OP, obvs it takes all sorts but I am a straight man who has had close gay male friends, we've been away together on work things for weeks and I would never push two single beds together, not even if the other guy wanted it. We got on like a house on fire, lots of camp humour. But no intimacy, because I wasn't interested. I think your guy is probably bisexual. Straight guys sleeping together in a bed is not "normal" (in the now surely rather outdated sense of sexually straight), it's an episode of the Morecambe & Wise show. I think he's trying to say "Oh in this day and age, it's absolutely normal (as in fine) to have both a girlfriend and a boyfriend." And who am I to judge? But if it's not what you want, you need clarification.

"Dave.....are you bisexual? Are you and Bob in a relationship too?"

To be honest the fact you have these doubts they will always be there in the back of head.
Maybe as this has only been 3 months you should end it. No point dragging it out.
