This is gonna sound really silly but my anxiety is through the roof.

a man who has been asking me to take me out since 2018 is taking part in a celebrity charity football match (celebrity side) and has asked me to go. It’s a family event so thought it would be something fun to do with my boy for the day as it’s a 2 hour drive each way.

Well now I’m panicking!! The whole influencer life really isn’t my circle so I was hoping to slide in, watch, see him briefly after and then disappear. He has other ideas! He wants me to get there a bit early and take me and my boy in to meet everyone!’

Its gonna be cold and even raining so it’s not exactly a look my best event and I don’t wanna look like a fan girl!!

can someone help me stop overthinking this?!

There's a whole list of "celebrities" playing in a charity football match" with Calum Best for anyone interested in guessing. I've heard of about three of them and would cross the road to avoid them - their reputation with exes and children leaves a lot to be desired! The rest are contestants on shows like Love Island, Married at first sight, etc.

If it is the doctor Guy as a PP said (sorry for being nosy, I did a quick peep on his insta to vet him for you, ahem) - then someone like that actually seems like a very good choice / good taste on your part OP from the surface - definitely worth seeing where it goes carefully.

Where does OP actually say she wants to meet this guy with marriage and a happily ever after in mind? Maybe she wants some excitement and fun in her life and intends to stay safe whilst. Let her live a little (I know those warning are doing so out of protectiveness but c'mon she's a grown woman presumably in at least her mid 30s).

OP, I once messaged a celebrity - a failed actor of sorts , all his movies are unmemorable except one or two where he was in a supporting role and the main lead won awards etc. - he was going through a bad time in his marriage, I am married too, I was not flirty I sent him the link to some scripts /stories I had written on a blog type site long ago and he actually read them and started messaging me about them and for a month or so there was a friendship of sorts. We both backed off when we realised it was getting close to a boundary line, still messaged sporadically but with those boundaries clearly in mind only - later he sorted his marriage out.

He did message once about asking me to come to an event last year, which was years after the last conversation - he thought my writing had some talent and he was back in the acting and also script writing game again. I did not go but I still am glad we had that little bond of friendship for a short while and gave some sort of short lived comfort to each other, without breaking any vows !

I’m in my 30s and I’ve heard of absolutely none of those people apart from Calum best who I’ve heard of but know nothing about. The event sounds like my idea of hell on earth.

some of my closest friends are in the music industry and I barely go to any of their events because I don’t get the whole world of the ‘celebrities’ if that makes sense?

I think I could just about tolerate it if booze was involved ! That sounds horrendous . It might be great fun though who knows .
