This is gonna sound really silly but my anxiety is through the roof.

a man who has been asking me to take me out since 2018 is taking part in a celebrity charity football match (celebrity side) and has asked me to go. It’s a family event so thought it would be something fun to do with my boy for the day as it’s a 2 hour drive each way.

Well now I’m panicking!! The whole influencer life really isn’t my circle so I was hoping to slide in, watch, see him briefly after and then disappear. He has other ideas! He wants me to get there a bit early and take me and my boy in to meet everyone!’

Its gonna be cold and even raining so it’s not exactly a look my best event and I don’t wanna look like a fan girl!!

can someone help me stop overthinking this?!

Go to the match but don’t be expecting anything please. My work sponsor these events and we go very regularly to them infact I thick I’m going to the one you mentioned and have an idea who it is. If it is him don’t go anywhere near him as he’s notorious for this sort of stuff.

You live once, my lovely! Just go!! You aren't on your own, as you're taking a couple of friends. You are getting there on your own steam, you're not relying on this man. You have the right to leave at any point and for any reason.

It doesn't matter if this man is younger than you. Introducing you to those taking part is a nice gesture too. Enjoy the day! Oh and take pics!!!

Do it on your terms. If he is pushing you to do what you dont want to, keep away from him. Perhaps share this with your friends too, so that they know and can help you navigate the situation.

I am not sure what you mean by the influencer type of life? Is he filming the event? I certainly wouldnt want or anyone to film me or my children.

im not going expecting this to become some mad love story, im going for a day out with my friends, see a friend who lives near there and socialise

I know this is stereotypical and I'm probably just being middle aged and boring about it but 'influencers' generally seem to be fairly shallow, 'live in the moment', looking for a good time types (which is fine in your 20s and early 30s, not saying it isn't).

But a single mum of a child with special needs who is suffering from significant mental health problems and is quite isolated doesn't seem like an influencer's 'type'. I'd be a bit worried about his intentions or that maybe he doesn't know much about your life and isn't prepared for the reality. Nothing necessarily wrong with going along and getting to know him at all but I'd be careful to protect yourself emotionally because, statistically, he doesn't sound like the kind of person to stick around.

None of the guys mentioned on here are 31 so unless his age has been changed it isn’t obvious who he is.

You absolutely need your own identity away from “being a mum”. I’m sure you’re a fabulous mum, and you will always be a mum for the rest of your life, but you need to find yourself now.

This sounds like a perfect opportunity to get yourself out there. Meet new people, do something different and have a nice time. See where it goes with this guy, and if nothing else comes from it then so what? You’ll have got out of your comfort zone, and that’s a big thing in itself.

You’ll be in a public place, with your friends, all the kids will be playing together- it sounds like a great day out (despite the forecast of rain) you’ve really got nothing to lose!

See this as an experience to gain more confidence and figure out who you really are under the ‘I’m just a mum’ mask. ❤️

Since when does ‘Don’t judge me’ mean you don’t get posters expressing perfectly reasonable reservations about a clearly vulnerable woman who admits to suffering anxiety and severe depression, and is heading to an event to meet an ‘influencer’ she has never met but believes has wanted to date her for eight years?

It’s not him because for one he’s 34 and his brother sadly passed 6 years ago so not recent and he also has a girlfriend.
