What is wrong with young men?

DD 21yo , is beautiful, funny, intelligent and kind. Is asked out on dates all the time. Goes along on 3 or 4 dates, told she is all those things and more. Constant texting, plans for weekend trips and can’t wait to see you. Talk for hours.
Then .. nothing. One before last claimed his Granny had died so he couldn’t see her.
This has happened 5 or 6 times recently, every time I can see her confidence shrinking. Everytime she is hopeful it might be different. She’s not after marriage or settling down, just a bit of companionship and fun. What the hell is going on?

They are too young to settle down I think.

I remember reading that babies don't know gender so play with anyone, children are a bit 'boys smell, girls are stupid' about each other, teenagers start having crushes, twenties can't choose because 'this one is hot, but so is that one and that one' - in the mid twenties people start choosing properly.

Obvs not for everyone but say that to her maybe - he liked you but he liked others too and wants to be friends with anyone and everyone....

Then say that she might like to be the same for a bit.....

Tell her the trick is not to have sex with them until they fall in love with you.

Maybe they are hoping for a quick shag or something else. Just keep telling her there are nice men out there and not to settle. Andrew Tate and Pornhub have a lot to answer for.

This. They’re chickens. They can talk the talk and do the obvious for a little while and then they’re lost. Easier to move on to the next one.

It's luck of the draw, I remember it being a bit like that for me. Sometimes you met a good lad and went out for a while, other times you went out on dates a few times with one and that was it.

I've met people who had a couple of BFs and then found "the one", but I met plenty more that had the endless round of dating a few times and then nothing, me included in that.

Dating apps. My DD24 is in London and she says the same . Men are not I retested in relationships it’s just swipe, date 1 or 2 , hope for sex and if not they move on.

Dead Granny guy was 25, I think she was hoping for more maturity there. She didn’t sleep with him, not sure about this latest one.
If there was some moderation, some feel of “Let’s just see how this goes?” But these men jump in with both feet. It’s her that’s saying maybe 4 dates on 5 days is too much.
She talked to a young man until 2am on Wednesday morning, made plans for the weekend and then an excuse and nothing.
I honestly wouldn’t care if these morons weren’t sapping her confidence, it’s heartbreaking!

They're dumping her because she's not putting out. They expect sex by the third or fourth date. They're doing enough to get laid and moving on when they don't.

Clubs sometimes, this last one was an old school mate who came into the shop where she works.

She doesn’t use the dating apps.

She needs to chill! Don't be so available. And try hitting on a guy once in a while. The most forward ones are the dickheads just trying their luck.

She should read "the rules" book. It works. Mostly by the dickheads self selecting out because they don't actually want a relationship just sex. Weed those out as early as poss!!

But if she slept with them they'd dump her afterwards anyway.

So she's doing the right thing by not sleeping with them.

They’re all tall.. and fairly good looking, maybe that’s her issue.

I'm not suggesting she should sleep with them, I'm explaining their behaviour.
