My husband went to play darts last night as he does every Wednesday. I’ve woken up at 4.30am and he isn’t home!!!
I’ve tried calling him and WhatsApping him- no answer and no reply. He hasn’t read my messages.
his darts team are his old work mates who I have no contact information for.
im worried sick. What do I do!? Do I call the police? Do I call hospitals !? Help, I feel sick

Well aren't you a treat.

OP does not need to deal with crap like this.

BrutusMcDogface · 07/09/2023 08:25

this is worrying. I would definitely call his work about half an hour after he’s meant to start. Hope he’s ok!

EveryOtherNameTaken · 07/09/2023 08:25

Ug66. She's worried. No need to for that bitter 'opinion'

JFDIYOLO · 07/09/2023 08:27

Hoping for the best, and that you've taken the day off and dropped children off.

Coffeetree · 07/09/2023 08:31

"He's a grown man" Jesus fuck. If he's okay and is just sleeping it off or something, that is absolutely inexcusable. We can presume the OP knows her husband isn't just a selfish pig.

Runnersandtoms · 07/09/2023 08:32

I rang the police in a similar situation many years ago. Although they obviously didn't start a missing person inquiry or anything they did check for road accidents in the vicinity and could tell me there hadn't been any.

Hope he turns up OP. So worrying even with a grown man if he's usually reliable

jenny38 · 07/09/2023 08:32

I’m hoping he has tipped up by now. Can you use his car to retraced his route home if not?

nyorksdad · 07/09/2023 08:32

It's worth checking AA traffic for the local roads - if there has been any serious accidents, it will show on there - I usually look on there for reassurance if my partner is significantly late

I'm sorry, you must be frantic
Have you got a friend or neighbour who could drop Dc to school?
If not use a taxi
Could you call the pub and ask if the car is still in the car park?
Perhaps it's broken down
How far is the pub?
Call his work to see if he's turned up, perhaps his phone died and he couldn't remember your number to call you
You've checked hospitals and police which is what I would've done
Call into your work stating a family emergency
I do hope you hear from him soon op

Can people read the previous threads and offer new advice rather than previous posters' advice? 🙄

Reetnice · 07/09/2023 08:37

I can’t imagine the stress you’re going through! I hope he’s ok ❤️

Here4thechocs · 07/09/2023 08:38

Oh God ! I hope he’s okay …

MrsH497 · 07/09/2023 08:40

Just so you know there is no set timeframe someone has to be missing in order to make a missing person report to police (unlike America)

Loubelle70 · 07/09/2023 08:41

I will be thinking about this all morning...i feel your worry OP. Im working from home so gotta scoot and start but I hope all turns out ok. ♥️

himlah · 07/09/2023 08:41

Omg how worrying. I hope he's okay x

Bananas1350 · 07/09/2023 08:42

OP has already called the non urgent police line and been told that he's not been in an accident.

Worried00 · 07/09/2023 07:38

I’ve called 101- he hasn’t been arrested and the car has not been involved in an accident that they know of.
I’ve called lots of hospitals and he isn’t in any of them!
I don’t know what to do or what to think.
i am meant to be leaving in half an hour to get the kids to school and go to work but he has my car! I’m not insured on his
i feel sick to my stomach

I don’t have any contact details for who he was out with last night

I'd be surprised if any hospital would be willing to confirm whether he is or was there or not.

ChocolateCakeOverspill · 07/09/2023 08:44

Glad to see the old sexist tropes being dragged out man = lying / unreliable etc, woman = hysterical 🙄

OP, I hope you’re back in touch with him very soon and it’s all something annoying but not too bad.

Panda8383 · 07/09/2023 08:46

Hope you’re ok OP x

uncomfortablydumb53 · 07/09/2023 08:46

Hospitals will confirm if he's there, but no more than that due to patient confidentiality

Dontstoptherain · 07/09/2023 08:49

I have anxiety just reading the thread. I hope that heads will roll following this if there’s not an extremely valid reason. Though short of accident (which hopefully from your investigation is not the case) I can’t think of any good excuses!

BigBessie · 07/09/2023 08:53

I have been following all morning and hoping for the best.
I feel sick for you, I really do.
I hope he turns up very soon

crochetmonkey74 · 07/09/2023 08:54

How are you feeling now OP? I personally agree about reporting him missing. Especially as this is so out of character for him. Hope you've stayed off work and get an answer soon. Could you check if the car is still at the darts pub? He might be stupidly asleep inside it!

Blondebutnotlegally · 07/09/2023 08:55

I can't even imagine how worried you are! Hope he's home and tucked up in bed
