I was in a quiz earlier this week after FM's over of the questions was that men on average speak 7000 words per day and what is the average for women. The answer (if it can be believed - no academic sources cited 😁) was 20,000!
So applying that stat to texting may help in our anxiety?

I paid for 3 months. They took they whole amount up front.

In the past I've paid for Tinder, but found it a waste of money. I could see who liked me but they were either too far away or ones I would swipe left/no anyway.

It's the first time I've paid for POF. I can see likes and who has viewed me. I can see new members, so can get a message sent quickly.
I also appear near the top of Meet Me, so seen by more people potentially.
I can see if a message has been read.

For me, the advantage is being able to see who has looked at my profile and liked me. Then I can send a message and hopefully get a reply.

So far, I have had more messages but unfortunately most aren't from men I would want to date.

A tip on POF and not paying is allow notifications
When you get one saying someone has liked you, screenshot the notification then you can enlarge it and see who it was. Then when you search with your criteria you can see who it was.

Hello everyone can I join the thread? You all seem like such a lovely supportive bunch. I'm just taking my first ever tentative step into OLD. Split with DP last year after being together since we were teenagers (nearly 20 years). I've spent the past 9 months processing and healing. Man it's been rough.
