I think you need to check browser history thoroughly. You really cannot say who is to blame without thoroughly investigation.

DDs friend of course never owned up to his DM that he'd searched for porn himself & if he'd had a dad or older brother at home, I'm sure they'd have got the blame too as his DM thought him too young & too sweet to do such a thing... DD had shown me his porn posts & what he'd written with it, yes he was playing "big man" & showing off to his mates, but there was absolutely nothing "sweet" about his posts. I was shocked. Anyone who thinks an 8yo boy can't or won't do this & will be honest about it when caught out, is incredibly naive

It's vastly more likely it was your husband than your 8yo and you know this. The ipad going missing only reinforces this.

And above all this you can be 100% sure your husband is expressing bigoted, homophobic views. Whether he does that because he's a closet case or in denial, or whether he's just your average homophobic straight guy, I don't know. But that should be an absolute relationship-ending deal-breaker for you. What if your son grows up to be gay?

Your wish to not have to take action shouldn't be priority to the point you were quizzing your son repeatedly and telling him you won't be angry no matter what... when he'd already said multiple times it wasn't him. Poor little thing he must be so confused.

Weird pop-up stuff came up on our computer when our kids were 8 and 10. They were with a friend and he typed in 'naked ladies' 'people having sex' and 'boobies'. They were initially most insistent that they hadn't and suggested it might have been DH, but the search terms gave it away!!!

Lots of also sites have terrible pop-ups, I clicked on something in error at work ( health research, so sexual health related) and had to frantically click and close pop ups for the next ten minutes.

No saying he's innocent , just that there are other options.

I can 100% believe that an under-10 would go searching for porn but the combination of everything the OP's told us heavily indicates that her husband has some fairly big issues around same-sex attraction and is the more likely candidate to have searched for gay porn, and they need to be resolved asap.

I can't understand why she's not more concerned about his homophobia. I know so many gay and lesbian friends who were damaged by their parents' homophobia, usually their fathers. I can't fathom a woman having children with a man who thought like that.

It says 1 in 10 under 10s have been exposed to internet pornography, it doesn’t say anything about gay porn and it doesn’t say that they actively search for porn
