I let MrTattoo know our date next week might be off and he's been very sweet about it. He did however mention the fact that he doesn't have any friends again. I'm just not sure what to think about this one.

He's 2 years a widower and his late wife was ill since her pregnancy. Their DD is now 6. So effectively the last 6 years he's been nursing a dying wife and bringing up his DD. So that is totally understandable. Isn't it?

He seems on good terms with this colleagues but is estranged from his Dad and two half sisters.

@OnwardsEverStridingOnwards good luck with your course. Enjoy every minute ❤. You'll all be in the same boat and the staff will be running on lots of coffee🤣.

Hmm, I'd see it as an Amber flag if someone seems to have a few interpersonal issues - then make further judgement in person?

Happy birthday to the September babies. I've been absent for a bit and not really feeling it with dating at the moment. Mr runner is in contact when he can, but that's much reduced which I'm finding is leading to a dwindling of my interest...but we'll have to see what it's like when we can meet again in just under 2 weeks. I'm not on any sites or anything so no other options are likely to present themselves! Dc are back with me from tomorrow which often makes me feel more lonely conversely...

So, feeling really brave I set myself up on Tinder. Had a few funny moments already. Firstly I somehow ticked that I was looking for a man or woman and so have had loads of options with women! Which is not my cup of tea, and then I matched with a guy whose profile pic showed him wearing ECG dots on his chest, but they were in the wrong place. I messaged him and said as much. He responded with "why don't you travel to Asia and tell them they are uneducated, or better still, start a start up"

I responded that I set up a medical charity 12 years ago.... He unmatched me immediately!!! 😂

Morning update from me.

Finally, a meeting arranged with Mr Printer - a week today, when I happen to have a day's annual leave. Acknowledgement that between his shifts and being involved with his children right through the week (compared to my standard working week and 50% fully child-free time), it limits mutual availability. That might be a much bigger issue going forward. Nevertheless my current aim is for a relationship that also allows me to retain my independence and other interests so it might work. Anyway, for now it's only a date zero, it will be good to finally meet and see whether it's worth continuing to invest any time in at all.

If only the same could be said for Mr Colleague - literally a two-word WA message yesterday, acknowledging something I'd messaged on Sunday. Absolutely inscrutable. I'm leaving this for a while but thinking if no other comms by, say, the end of the weekend, I might message with a more direct question. Any help on (concise!) wording would be appreciated but something along the line of 'now we've caught up business-wise how would you feel about taking our chat further, over another coffee or whatever?'

Oh the stress it sometimes causes, trying to come across as oh-so-casual! 🙄

And finally - visited the new gym last night, had my first mini workout, classes booked - new gym gear ordered (because OF COURSE 😃) so am very happy that the chat on here incentivised me to bite the bullet on this. Thanks again!

@FireandBrimstone well done with the gym. I've got my first personal training session on Saturday. I'm not sure if he has realised what he's let himself in for lol 😄😬. I've got HIIT tonight when I asked him if I'm going to die, he said I'll be fine. 😄

@Isitreallyme177 please do report on HIIT and how it is. I have bums, tums, core tonight - the trainer I spoke to last night just paused a beat too long when I said I'd booked it and then commented about it being a 'good workout' so I have a bit of The Fear!!
