Dating Thread 211 - heading into to Autumn fueled by possibilities

The Rules:

  1. The first rule about the dating thread is don't talk about it with people you're dating.
  2. Develop a thick skin.
  3. Do not invest emotionally too soon.
  4. It's all BS until it actually happens.
  5. Trust your gut instinct.
  6. People vanishing, lying & being generally weird is not your fault.
  7. Know your worth.
  8. If it's not fun, stop.
  9. Loo update is mandatory.
10. No dating the thread. 11. Treat others as you'd like to be treated 12. Any relationship you have that could get ruined by having a conversation about your feelings, standards and/or expectations wasn't really stable enough to begin with 13. The things you choose to ignore/ tolerate now are the reasons you will break up in the future 14. OLD can get very time consuming. Keep doing other activities you enjoy.

Optional: Please give your irons (potential dates you are talking to) nicknames like Mr Scottish. Initials are allowed (Mr S) when you are an item

bang - sorry, xpost. I think if I hadn't chased MrBE then he'd have thought I'd forgot too, which would have suited him. He really was a flake of the highest order.

If I hadn't have chased my ex magnet it would have been over a lot sooner...less stress.

He's showing me he can't even be bothered to send a lame text so I will take it that it's off - we were meant to meet at 7 so not leaving much time.

At least if he's shown himself to he a flake early on!

He has another hour or I'm getting in my pyjamas and opening some wine 🙂

@bangheadhere40 if a time has been set could he be under the assumption that it’s going ahead as that’s the plan? I don’t think I reconfirmed my most recent dates once a time was set, in some cases a couple of days before.

@bangheadhere40 sounds like tomorrow's happening! Yay! I'd be in two minds as to whether to send a follow up text but you're right he's left you no time! If it were me it'd totally depend on how we'd interacted him and how attractive i found him! Magnet-man has just sent me his 'new phone number'?? Not sure what that's meant to mean given that he sent/replied so far from his old number! He said i can keep both if i like??

@Naimee87 I’d advise caution! I’ve been subject to the renewed contact from my magnet man and he re-flaked on me TWICE! I won’t let him do it a third time. He seems to have some kind of radar that I’m between irons or the current relationship is in trouble when he turns up so it makes me think maybe he will be different this time! Spoiler alert….it’s never different!!!

@MayEye you are so right! But for some reason i'm still so keeeeen to go and indulge! But i think this could be me intentionally causing problems so i don't have to figure out what's going on with MrElf! Because i reckon i'd probably be ending things with him in one big swoop! These magnets are so flinginflangin mean and devious but why is that a massive turn on to me?

It's a dopamine hit that feels all the better because it's withheld. Basically the male version of a prick tease - which is an incredibly offensive term but fits the bill quite nicely. A clit tease?

I sent MrNoKids a pic of myself with short hair. I realised that my profile pic was long hair. I know some men love long hair, just as us ladies prefer beards/no beards etc. He replied - short hair suits you, you're looking good. Am now stupidly happy/relieved.
He's bald but in a Captain Picard way and at 6.2, I wouldn't have to see the top of his head often.
Oh god, am getting carried away not over investing mind-!

Aaargh I'm a terrible one for selfies ... it's a disease that I've succumbed to, no one else takes photos of me anyway and I always think I look right if I've taken it myself
