Dating Thread 211 - heading into to Autumn fueled by possibilities

The Rules:

  1. The first rule about the dating thread is don't talk about it with people you're dating.
  2. Develop a thick skin.
  3. Do not invest emotionally too soon.
  4. It's all BS until it actually happens.
  5. Trust your gut instinct.
  6. People vanishing, lying & being generally weird is not your fault.
  7. Know your worth.
  8. If it's not fun, stop.
  9. Loo update is mandatory.
10. No dating the thread. 11. Treat others as you'd like to be treated 12. Any relationship you have that could get ruined by having a conversation about your feelings, standards and/or expectations wasn't really stable enough to begin with 13. The things you choose to ignore/ tolerate now are the reasons you will break up in the future 14. OLD can get very time consuming. Keep doing other activities you enjoy.

Optional: Please give your irons (potential dates you are talking to) nicknames like Mr Scottish. Initials are allowed (Mr S) when you are an item

Morning I'm just wasting time before I have a video call with the Barrister at 9am, I have wet hair still 🤦‍♀️. I put on a work dress for the first time in 18 months so I look professional too (surprised it still fits) and just have to keep telling myself I do that journey every day (it's my way home from the gym) and it makes no difference if I win or lose (except I'll get my no claims and excess back if I win).

My ex is coming over later for dinner so I get the wanting someone to talk to about stuff as I still talk to him about serious stuff. I'm supposed to be going to dinner with a friend tomorrow (she is reliably flakey though) and Mr Cricket messaged this morning to wish me luck (I was very surprised to see his message when I got out of the shower).

I also paid for Bumble and Tinder Gold it definitely wasn't worth the money, the two meets I've had have been through normal Tinder. In fact paying just depressed me even more as it showed me what sort of men actually liked me and they weren't the type I go for.

Hi all...i saw my guy last night .. first time I've ever seen him in a night where he's worked that day. He was tired.. still had great sex though Smile. I like him way too much... this is why i initially tried OLD to try and dilute the feelings i have for him. It didnt work. I need help in knowing how to accept a FWB type arrangement. I've never had one before . Good luck to all those with upcoming dates... keep the up dates coming in

I'm getting the impression Mr House could be a flake but I'll keep am open mind... he's not great with comms.

Mr Ears on the other hand seems a little too excited...so many kisses on every message etc.

If one of them turns into a Mr Happy Medium I'll be happy.

To carry on with the confectionery angle, I'd just like a KitKat guy - take a break, take a KitKat. Someone like me who wants special times together but not full on, all the time

Irishflake has messaged to say he doesn't know when he'll be ready to meet, as he has new issues in his life that came up since we started chatting.

I think this one gets blocked and deleted, what do you ladies 🤔 think? Otherwise I'm just leaving the option for him to slide back in there in a few months and take up valuable headspace again

Hmmm 🤔 is he a single dad with sole responsibility?

To be fair, childcare can be a massive block for women. No reason why it shouldn't be the same for blokes but it's still frustrating

You should only accept something if that's what you want? Compromise for a real connection but don't settle for crumbs?

Morning all. Definitely block and delete @BelladiMamma and I hope you're feeling a bit better today? Pacing is the name of the game - and as one of our consultants likes to say, structure and routine and a rest in between Flowers

@Naimee87 glad things are feeling a bit more relaxed now and hope they work out how you need them to. @HairyArsedMan hope you're okay, I'm not sure what environmental means either but it sounded disappointing :(

My update is I've stopped bleeding pretty much. Gp said I'll never know if it was a miscarriage. But slightly eclipsing that has been the deterioration in Mr Runner's wellbeing. Without going into detail, I got involved and hopefully he's going to accept help to sort himself out now. Obviously a relationship is the last thing he should be thinking about, but I hope we keep in touch at least :( I'm off OLD anyway and not really looking either. I need to sort myself out first.

@belladiMamma is a weird situation. We kind of met online... but a very very long time ago and never met in real life or even exchanged pics back then. We started chatting sporadically via FB again years ago .. just as friends as both with partners at the time... this changed this year and we met for the first time in Jun this year. He lives miles away from me and he has a young child 50% of the time...i have my daughter 50% of the time. I think we have a great connection when together but organising it can be hard. He's working locally for a while now so we have seen each other more over the last couple of weeks... but apart from agreeing that we wouldn't sleep with anyone else whilst sleeping with each other...i dunt know what the future holds. I guess that's the same for every relationship though..? He's alot younger than me too...
