Was talking to Mr. Social Conscience and mentioned I’d joined that particular paid site and no other, as a distraction and I had no real intention of seeing anyone really, unless they were really my type/chemistry. We have date zero soon, and are already talking about future dates. Anyway he’s hidden his profile! What does that mean?

@Isitreallyme177 I don't really feel qualified to comment but agree with @WeWantTheFinestWines that it's unfair on you both to be friends when one of you has feelings. The "test" of how you'd feel if he told you he'd met someone is really useful and has helped me distinguish my feelings a number of times.
@OnwardsEverStridingOnwards I couldn't be friends with my most recent ex either. I thought I could be, and wanted to be, but I've had to block as every time he popped up I'd end up physically ill. Not because of residual feelings but from stress of wondering wtf he wanted, the mind games were getting ridiculous.
@BelladiMamma you're on a roll (and you've had me in stitches this week 😂)

When I hide my profile I'm generally feeling jaded, and met enough people I've connected with and want to focus on

@Misty9 your little kids will be a good distraction even if they are driving you mad. I’m the same with my son, miss him when he’s with the grandparents then the second he’s back i’m faced with gaming talk, and all his little friends descending on the place and wondering where my peace and quiets gone! Are you feeling any better today? @Languidleopard i also felt like you and had to reach a state of being happy on my own and accepting my life the way it was and really being OK with it not just pretending to be. I found i got there a little before last year with hobbies, home-office helped too and focusing on my son sticking in at school. I feel in a much better place and know now if things go tits up with MrElf i’ll only go back to that same place as before which was a good place! @SpringlikeBunk i love your Zen outlook on life. My sisters into all this minimalism i am afraid i’m the opposite and have so much stuff, moving would be a nightmare right now. I am waiting to see/hear from MrElf about doing trips together as this is what you want a partner for really. I got promised a lot from MrS and really none of our ‘plans’ happened. My next holidays are end of sept/oct and it’d be nice to go away with MrElf if we last that long! 🤞🏻

That was me. No there isn't an App, it's an "oldschool" type dating site - it reminds me of the ones I was on in early 2000s! Like I said not masses of choice, but it is better than some other sites for my location. They do sometimes have special offers on membership which is what I used when I joined as it's quite expensive otherwise. My 2 nicest irons came from there.

I'm wary of having anyone in my life who isn't busy or who lives too nearby so someone on a farm in Norfolk with stabling might be perfect 😊

Seeing Mr Italy tonight, I'm so excited, but wanted to have some other irons as back up but the convos have been boring and one sided. If it doesn't go well tonight I'm going to message all my tinder matches that I haven't approached yet and hope at least one comes back to me 😐

I find backup is really helpful! As is having other fun stuff in the diary. I went to the natural history museum yesterday with my daughter and it was such a lovely thing to do together.

🧐 well this is third time round at OLD in one year for me and I'm trying a slightly different approach every time. This time however I'm more thick skinned

So I've got the date zero's all organised

Sunday: I'm in another city but free for lunch and doing art gallery and lunch with one iron. I'm going to call him MrLongShot

Tuesday
Miss Ginger (friend zoned but she still wants to meet up) morning coffee nearby
MissChelsea who's really really hot and very very lovely lunch + dog walk near me
MrIrish hot as feck and giving me the feels dinner

Tuesday could be rampant 🤪

I'm now going to predict what's going to happen with each of them
MrLongShot: we'll have a nice connection and a nice day out. He will start sexting and making plans which come to nothing.
MissGinger: will stay keen and might become FWB
MissChelsea: I'll fall hopelessly in love and it won't be reciprocated; she's too busy being a hot shot overworked lawyer to date
MrIrish: could be a ONS or he could just find me too full on. I'll fancy the pants off him and cry every time I hear the Corrs on the radio. Which luckily isn't that frequently these days
