I slightly fancy Dominic Cummings

I am disgusted at myself. How can I purge these feelings? I support labour and don’t really fancy bald narcissists so I am completely baffled.

Ohhh Nooooo!
Bleurgh.
Is it perhaps, that you don't fancy him really, but that you sort of envy his ability to be such a bastard?

I can't imagine fancying Cummings, but (as someone who feels guilty over very minor things) I do sometimes envy those super confident, arrogant types who dont give a fuck.
.... I mean, imagine waltzing through the world with the self assurance and confidence of Johnson, Cummings et al?
Imagine being that devious/mendacious and not feeling one iota of remorse, imagine enjoying it!
Imagine having loads of power, and truly believing that you deserve it because you are cleverer and more special than everyone else.
Imagine that no matter how many mistakes you make, it will always be someone else's fault.
Imagine having the brass neck to so blatantly break the rules you helped to make, and still remain utterly convinced of your own intellectual and moral superiority!

Sometimes it looks kinda fun, in a comic book villain sort of way.

This has made me feel ill. He reminds me of Gollum.

He’s such a vile man. No one in their right mind would want to work with him ever again, he’s so bitter and immature

Wow! Before that interview I thought at least he probably had intelligence going for him, after watching a few mins of that I was cringing so badly on his behalf I just had to switch it off. Just no!!

This thread is an eye opener!

This must be how these Machievellian & dark triad traits persist in humanity if people are willing to breed with such horrors!!!

Now, I like an evil genius as much as the next woman, but Dominic has kinda blown his cover.

It’s probably his confidence (which is arrogance in reality) and your curiosity because he looks and sounds very unusual.

He’d persuade you to do something by using sound bites “Get the dishes done” and later on he’d tell you how stupid you are for doing the dishes.

Mortified to admit I have felt the same since the Barnard Castle interview ☺️

This thread reminds me of the time Joan Bakewell was referred to as the thinking man's crumpet. 'I know, I'm a bit old but you still would, wouldn't you?' ...

@Sarahlou63

Supremely confident and brain the size of a (rather unstable) planet. Yeah, I can understand the attraction.

I just don't get this opinion. Supremely confident yes but brain the size of a planet?! I am gobsmacked at what passes as intellect.

He is a prime example of confidence masquerading as competence. He has enough self-belief to keep himself going we don't all have to buy in to it too

My only debate is whether he is as dangerous as he sounds or he just wishes he was. What he described (when it was reasonably coherent) was an astonishing assault on representative democracy.
