I remember once when my exes team lost and I dared to say it was just a game, got a barrage of verbal abuse followed by a smack in the mouth. Glad to say I'm now very happily single.

I only learnt this a couple of years ago and it’s made me go off football ever since. I’m really excited for the football tonight but I know this will be in the back of my mind. It makes me so angry!!
It’s definitely a worldwide issue so lots of women and children around the world will be worrying about the result.

Does anyone know if the footballers or clubs acknowledge this?

Thanks for posting, that image is incredibly powerful. I agree they should put statistics and contact details on tv before the match so victims can get help. It just confirms my feeling that only yobs watch football.
