They haven't mentioned a guardian as of yet.. i would have thought if cafcass were doing the section 7 then they would appoint a guardian.
I feel so worried about all of this :(

Everywhere I read it keeps stating that if there has been local authority involvement then it has to be the local authority that does the section 7 and if not them then it is cafcass

Hi all, hope you're well.

Wondering if anyone can help me with a query. We've been asked to provide a detailed financial statement of means to the Court (and each other) in order to show if we can afford to pay for the section 7 to be done by an independent social worker.
My issue is i do not want him to see this information, it's very personal and invasive to my life..
What can I do? My solicitor has said it's a term of the order and we must provide it, but I do not want to show him a summary of all my finances. It's so personal.

It doesn’t sound like the kind of thing you aren’t able to not provide, especially if your solicitor has said you have to - I should think they will have to remove any kind of nod to where you are living ( if that’s one of the things you’re worried about) so that side of things shouldn’t be a problem? I hate having to provide bank statements for any reason - its deeply invasive but mostly they are only interested in your income and outgoings, not the specifics?

Pebbledashery · 26/08/2021 19:12

Do you suppose I could provide a redacted copy of what the outgoings are and just provide the numbers. Everything we've provided has been redacted.. Doesn't say in the court order it can't not be redacted.

You'd have to redact anything that gives a clue to your location. You could provide e.g. a monthly total for council tax, water, electricity - because the council tax especially could be googled for the local authority. Ditto any childcare provider, transport tickets etc.

You also put in a line item for any and all of his debt repayments you might be carrying from the relationship and be very specific about how they were incurred.

And use that money saving expert spreadsheet to make sure you've got in monthly values for annual and sporadic costs, like birthdays, clothes, white good replacements etc etc

How are you and your daughter Pebble?
