More Legs chapter three - the one where there’s a little light at the end of the tunnel

MoreLegsThanMe · 25/05/2021 22:41

New thread. Can’t believe I’ve got to three.

It’s a good chance I think that they’ll stick together, happy or not. They’ve given away absolutely everything (although she still sees her children) so they do need each other don’t they.

I have my fingers crossed for the marriage certificate tomorrow. I really believe he thinks I wouldn’t go ahead with it. I also think it might prompt a flurry of messages asking what he’s supposed to do. Bloody pay a solicitor that’s what you can do.

I think of the two of us I will come out the other side better than him. I have the support of his family, all the DC, and you wonderful women. He has her and that’s it. I don’t know about her family and I’m sure as can be that the pair of them have created yet another lie as the backstory to how they met. Can’t exactly tell the truth can they. ANC in a few short years he’ll be 70. Yuk.

It still doesn’t feel like I’ll be better off at the end but I’m hoping that feeling will come.

If anyone knows how to link this thread to the old one can you let me know please?

x

I wonder why she’s surprised…..? (Also, Pot…Kettle, much?) Hold your course and I hope you enjoyed your day out @MoreLegsThanMe!

CatChant · 05/07/2021 23:10

Oof, well, she is a piece of work and no mistake. But we all knew that. I'm sorry it's upset you MoreLegs, but her opinion is utterly worthless. If she doesn't want to be named as an adulteress she blimmin' well shouldn't be one. Why on earth should you wait for your divorce to spare the feelings of someone who didn't give a fig for you or your DC?

You look after yourself and try not to worry about their reactions. They've made their bed. They can lie in it, and if it proves to be filled with caltrops they have no one but themselves to blame.

Lovely that you're having another outing with your friend. You've had far too few treats this year. Fingers crossed it stays dry for you - so far it's being a very soggy summer where I am.

Take care, lovely. Never forget just how amazing you are. Flowers

Premier12 · 05/07/2021 23:50

The absolute cheek of her!!

CliffsofMohair · 06/07/2021 01:06

It must burst the grubby pair’s bubble to see their names of a legal document. Imagine. Named for adultery. You’d be mortified.

Onthedunes · 06/07/2021 01:28

I've just realised I'm sat here with a big smile on my face Grin

Yes her title henceforth will be officially adulterer. How lovely.

Don't waste any time worrying about those two, keep on keeping on, have a good time on Thursday.

Leg's Ex husband.......... Who?
Forget them, they are relegated to the undesirables in life.
Yuk.

QueenBee52 · 06/07/2021 02:41

Id be inclined to keep those horrid texts Legs..

Incase you need them in the future 🌸

Justilou1 · 06/07/2021 03:48

Good point. Can you create a folder and take screenshots and email them to yourself? You might need to show them in court.

Billybagpuss · 06/07/2021 06:50

Actually it was her doing the fucking, not you. So very inaccurate too.

I’m sorry legs, I know it was hurtful to you, but it did make me smile too it’s the first time they will have received any comeback at all for their actions, and when they did it’s in the form of a legal document where they can see no emotion from you whatsoever. You have acted at all times with outwardly calm dignity, despite the utter turmoil of despair going on underneath.

Do keep any further abusive texts as suggested. Hope today goes well.

Justilou1 · 06/07/2021 07:14

You don’t know that it WAS her that sent the text. It may have been him using her phone. (Probably was her though… He sounds far too soggy.)

bigbaggyeyes · 06/07/2021 07:20

Oh wow, she sleeps and runs off with YOUR husband, and YOUR'RE the bitch. What a classy individual she is!

ByeByeMissAmericanPie · 06/07/2021 07:51

I’ve got an analogy for you @MoreLegsThanMe that someone told me once my divorce kicked off.

Think of yourself as a boat on a stormy sea with a destination to focus on. All beneath you, the waves may rock and crash against the boat, but you are pointing in one direction, riding the waves and making headway.

Some days it might be calm, others very windy and rough. You just keep going.

Keep looking at the horizon too. There lies the end of the rainbow!

MoreLegsThanMe · 06/07/2021 08:38

Thank you x

I typed a long response and again forgot to send it last night. Seem to be doing this more and more don’t I.

I’ve tried hard to think of any justification there may be for what he did and I just can’t. Any that he feels must be of his own imagining. Next will it will be six months since he spoke to his DC - six months!

They’ve only had the usual “relax and enjoy the glorious weather” bullshit texts that he likes to treat them to. Still copy and paste jobs.

Yesterday I had a message from a number I didn’t recognise, simply saying “you fucking bitch”.

I suspect her. Maybe the Petition has arrived and she’s enraged at having been named. Well, sorry about that love, that’s the least you can expect when you conspire with someone to destroy a few lives…

I am surprised I’ve not heard from him asking me what to do next. Either he’ll pay to see someone or (much much more likely) he’ll sit back and just expect her to do some Googling. Never a one for wanting to sort anything out himself. That’s too much like taking responsibility isn’t it.

We’ll see what tomorrow brings….

Lord above that text last night DID send. I am officially losing my marbles, it seems….

suckingonchillidogs · 06/07/2021 08:51

How bloody DARE she text that to you?! Got himself a proper charmer there, urgh. Rise above Legs, you're coming across regally!

doitwithlove · 06/07/2021 10:05

What did the adulterer expect to happen ...... keep your head held high @MoreLegsThanMe, you are doing a fantastic job keeping the wheels turning with your family and house ticking over.

Also, enjoy Thursday x

Justilou1 · 06/07/2021 10:19

You can’t prove it WAS her… it may have been him using her phone. (Although he’s so soggy he wouldn’t know to do this without asking @MoreLegsThanMe how to, if history serves…). All texts should be kept in case you need them later. You must not respond.

Annonymiss123 · 06/07/2021 11:17

@Justilou1

Good point. Can you create a folder and take screenshots and email them to yourself? You might need to show them in court.
I agree. This is what I would do. Don't engage, but do keep the evidence.

You're doing great @MoreLegsThanMe! 💐

Xoxoxoxoxoxox · 06/07/2021 11:30

I know this is said a lot but it does seem like he fell into the trap of just seeing you as a ‘support human’ for his needs.
They don’t seem to realise these men, (my ex included) that the support will stop when they leave the marriage, that you will pursue your own best interests.

Grrrpredictivetex · 06/07/2021 12:31

Text might possibly have been from one of her children, but whoever it was from it's not your fault in any way shape or form @Legs. Stay strong you're doing brilliantly and they can see you've got on with your life protecting your DC.

1WayOrAnother2 · 06/07/2021 12:36

Looks like you hit a nerve Legs! Clearly 'adulterer' was not the title she was looking for :)

Deleting and not replying is best. -Graceful and giving no ammunition for the other side. However I'd have been tempted to stoke the fire a bit with something cheery like:
'You're such a joker :) '

Onthedunes · 06/07/2021 13:36

It wouldn,t surprise me Legs if it was her that sent the text, unless it was him protecting her, no matter, don't respond and do keep all texts as it is classed as intimidation, just as that evening when she was shouting the odds at you in the street.

In fact if you have CCTV I'd be routing that video footage out.
Keep all communication from them.

The 'fucking bitch' texts will soon turn to 'scheming bitch' texts as the divorce deals with the financials. Do not tell him of your friend, it will be turned against you.

As time goes on though in the future, as your friendship deepens, imagine his response when friend is included in your family life, he will be devastated, there is so much he is going to be confronted with.

You up to this point have had all the pain, now some of that is going to be batted back in ways he never thought about.
He's a fool and this divorce is going to make him angry, not your problem, you must not show any mercy.

Is everybody ready for the banquet to be seated ?

completelybanjaxed · 06/07/2021 13:54

My stomach churned a bit for you reading that text, how horrible. The brass neck and cowardice of whoever sent it is absolutely staggering.

Another one here saying absolutely keep screenshots just in case.

You are doing brilliantly lady x

AcrossthePond55 · 06/07/2021 13:57

One or t'other sent it. Either way the only thing I'd respond with (if I did at all) would be a simple "Truth hurts, doesn't it?".

But in all actuality, I probably would have just rolled my eyes and copied the message for 'future reference'.

'Bitch' was one of BFF's ex's fav terms for her. She turned it on him by saying "Bitch...bitch, hmmm. A bitch is a female dog. What are the characteristics of a female dog? Let's see, they're generally strong and beautiful. They're also loving, loyal, and fiercely protective of their young. Why, thank you! I'll take that as a compliment".

Shut his sorry ass right up.

Thewookiemustgo · 06/07/2021 14:35

Whoever it was somebody’s nerve just got twitched. A case of ‘How dare you insert reality into the fantasy?’ 🙄
How far from reality must they be to see the initiation of divorce proceedings as a vindictive move, after they have done everything within their power to make it impossible for you to remain married to them? I bloody scratch my head about some people, Legs, I really do.
In a warped kind of way I’d almost be relieved, I’d see it as total proof and vindication about every syllable that has been written on these threads about them, whoever sent it. There can be no doubt if indeed there ever was.
If it was him, he’s a coward and a nasty one at that. If it was her, she’s also a nasty coward and they are welcome to each other. How tightly they cling to their chains of having to be the only two people on the planet who think what they did is acceptable or right. Look what happens to anyone who suggests otherwise. I hope they enjoy the prison they inhabit. They created it themselves.
Hang in there Legs. There moral high ground is more the bottom of a coal mine than the top of a mountain.

QueenBee52 · 06/07/2021 16:56

Course it was Her 😂🤣
