The Rules:

It was just so easy when young. Straight in, no preconceptions, quickly became a couple, moved in, married then children.

Now it's all so weird. Baggage, feels odd.

I guess it can’t do any harm to just set up a profile and see who’s out there?

Even just for a few chats you don’t have to even meet anyone, you can just say you’re looking for chat or mates only to meet for a drink/coffee and screen out all the sex guys or the pushy types.

I don’t think anyone really genuinely likes the apps or sees them as the guaranteed source of true love

but they are definitely a “necessary evil” for me personally nutters aside they do completely open up dating?

Especially as I don’t have big social work place or social circles who will get me to meet decent dates (well creepy married guys don’t count!)

What’s the deal with your current guy? If you’re just casual, do you need to actually formally dump him or can you just mention you’re looking to open things up a bit socially?

Evening all. Back from the curry night. Well my most successful date yet. Had a nice evening chatting over the meal. He insisted on paying - I did offer to go Dutch, but he refused., He’s said he’d like another date, quick peck goodbye. I just feel slightly, not sure, so out of practise - so probably go on second date to see- no thunderbolts, but I suppose there don’t need to be maybe? I’m not sure how I’m supposed to feel (god I’m crap at this)

@GaraMedouar - that's pretty normal. First dates are always a bit odd - you've only just met and, if you're like me, it's a bit like being a rabbit caught in headlights! The second date is the clincher. Slightly more relaxing and you can start to imagine if you'd like to kiss him. If it's a no, then move on.

Was just chatting to an nhs nurse and was a bit 🤔 on him physically from his photos .

Signed off and said “hope you get some sleep” and he said he’s actually on a night shift and sent a selfie and he’s about fifty times hotter in the photo he just sent

I don’t really see myself as looks person, but might change my username to “ShallowBunk”

He’s just joined the app and we seem to have a lot in common, so I’ll aim to suggest a meet soonish.

Oh my god, so Mr Green Eyes has literally asked me to go on a date on Sunday. He has also just sent me a photo and my god the last time I saw a six pack like that was on my gym instructor 😳😲 even Computer Geek didn't have a six pack like that and he had a very nice one. I think I might need to sit down ( well if I wasn't in bed I would 🤣).

So I wake up this morning and Mr Green Eyes has unmatched me and blocked me on WhatsApp, obviously he was just bored on a Friday. Oh well nevermind just another time waster.

After a good break from the apps, I downloaded bumble yesterday. Swiped right through and completed it, within a 20 mile radius, I swiped right only 5 times. I think the quality of men on there has really deteriorated. It’s awful!!
Deleted that, so might give Tinder another look 🙄 does feel like a waste of time though.

Whenever shitty stuff like this happens to me I always think back to my old 3 month wonder iron. He was a bit of a prick but was at least consistent. The bar is low old...when being consistently mean is good as it's consistent 😆

I'm up early as the plasterer was due to be here at eight, he texted at ten to saying he'll be here at half past, so I went to the PO to get cash out for him only to find it no longer opens on a Saturday, so when he gets here I'm going to have to drive six miles to the nearest cash point!
