check out the link in this thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/7/466497?ts=1201614701106&msgid=9435648

my boss is doing this to me bigtime. i am going to leave before the end of this year.

that's my goal for 2008.

Baffy · 29/01/2008 14:00

very interesting

with a boss like that and H, it's a wonder you're still smiling! hats off to you - you have some strength!

totally agree, make it your aim for 2008 to get out of there.

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 29/01/2008 14:32

Indeed Baffy!

Got 3 huge high profile projects that I want to deliver plus want to get some more training (not that boss will approve it probably) and attempt an industry accreditation.

Should achieve all that by about mid 3rd quarter and look to switch jobs after dd gets her free nursery place.

one good thing is my flexibility here which i doubt i would get elsewhere right off the bat.

in theory i could double my salary but we'll see!

Baffy · 29/01/2008 14:47

sounds like a good plan to me!

and double the salary - we could be planning a weekend meet up in Vegas this time next year!

I won't be able to come down then.

(It's getting closer and closer to my 30th! Tanee we might have to make it a joint celebration! )

OP posts:
macdoodle · 30/01/2008 10:00

OP posts:
sugar34plum · 30/01/2008 10:34

Hi i can do 16th march.

I am 35 tomorrow and got 3dc's ill and dh working away! So i will be a grumpy old woman tomorrow!

Although im sure i shall cheer up after the chocolate birthday cake i brought that i will share with dc's and the lovely bottle of wine i shall keep to myself!

HappyWoman · 30/01/2008 10:35

Id still love to meet most weekends are ok but with our hectic life anything can change so i will just do my best once a date is arranged.

Tanee58 · 30/01/2008 12:16

I can do 16 March, - and yes, great idea to have a joint birthday bash, Baffy. I'm planning lots of get togethers with different groups of friends, so this is going to be the longest celebration ever. I prefer it to having one big party, as you never get to talk to everyone at a big do, and I just get stressed by the preparations.

Our main computer hard drive has crashed - again!!!!!. Last night DD asked me if I thought this had been the longest January ever (she's all stressed with coursework and 6th form applications) - yes, it has been the longest and worst January of my life.

Just had another phonecall from an old friend to say her mother's died. . Am thinking I must start really cherishing mine - she's 82 and my dad is 80 next week. They're relatively fit but things happen so quickly at their age...

lilyloo · 30/01/2008 21:03

Hi all with you there McDam sooo tired ! Endless nights of no sleep and feeding and days of school / pre school and nursery runs in between feeds but it's all good
Am very of you all getting together i feel like ever having social life again will be impossible !

Baffy · 31/01/2008 11:19

I'll look after your lo lily! You'll have to come along if you can?...

Is it looking like 16th March?

PC can you make that? And what about SG?

We should also see if CnC / TFM can make it... (if you're lurking let us know )

do we need to do a list of everyone and who can make it when...

I have my organised head on today...

Thankyou all.

Im having an absolute giggle at threads on here today.

Had lovely cards and texts/phonecalls and i get all my presents at the weekend

How is everyone today?

Tanee58 · 31/01/2008 17:41

Fine thanks Sugar, what's been your fav thread today? I've been looking at Teenagers since dd will be 16 soon - and I think compared with some of the threads, she's a little angel !

I'm off home now to paint large dark green samples to try on our bedroom wall (which is currently a horrid shade of lavender). I MAY decide that dark lincoln green is a bit TOO intense, but we shall see ... I quite fancy a dark, tomblike interior with our mahogany fourposter draped in cream against deep green walls... (the fourposter was a teenage fantasy that dp agreed we could indulge, thanks to an eBay bargain)

Lodger is threatening to stay till next Wednesday as she has auditions, and she doesn't seem to have done anything about finding somewhere else to live - but DP has told her we need to sleep in her room whilst painting ours, so she'll have to go home next week - I think even he has had enough - as he says there is now nowhere in our house where we can safely be alone except the bedroom & the loo!
