  1. The first rule about the dating thread is don't talk about it with people you're dating.
  2. Develop a thick skin.
  3. Do not invest emotionally too soon.
  4. It's all BS until it actually happens.
  5. Trust your gut instinct.
  6. People vanishing, lying & being generally weird is not your fault.
  7. Know your worth.
  8. If it's not fun, stop.
  9. Loo update is mandatory.
10. No dating the thread. 11. Treat others as you'd like to be treated 12. Any relationship you have that could get ruined by having a conversation about your feelings, standards and/or expectations wasn't really stable enough to begin with 13. The things you choose to ignore/ tolerate now are the reasons you will break up in the future

Optional: Please give your irons (potential dates you are talking to) nicknames like Mr Scottish. Initials are allowed (Mr S) when you are an item

An apology for being rubbish. An explanation of being stressed, and why. An assertion of saturday nights date still being on.

I don't know how to deal with the ups and downs of this.

bangheadhere40 · 12/12/2019 19:51

I think I have another iron, mr London. That's good, rather have 2

Menora · 12/12/2019 19:51

I have felt like that before with the hot/cold of texting
If it makes you feel any better, I do this to people and I am not intentionally ignoring them. I might read a WA just to see if it’s important then go back to everything when I get actual time.

Menora · 12/12/2019 19:52

You need distraction and to rationalise when they go quiet. They could be busy. Or they could be a knob. Either way, you will find out!

NoMoreWeepingAndWanking · 12/12/2019 19:52

My reply: "If you prefer phone calls to messages I'm an easy going sort who'll answer either. For future reference."

Him:"cool"

Think I'll just leave it there really. He can call or msg if he wants to sort logistics.

I have tried bra let’s and I find anything Lacy itchy also when they double over under your boobs, then the fabric goes weird... I got some very soft lovely M&S bras today but they were £20. They are the only ones that don’t make my boobs look weird
M&S also have buy 3 get 4th free on pants. I have an issue with pants too 😂 I have to have a cotton gusset and at certain times of the month my vag likes to kind of leak clear fluid which can look like I have wet myself so I stick to black

Menora · 12/12/2019 19:57

@bangheadhere40

I want to just get the sex going too. I haven’t had sex for a year and it was awful! He had ED and I was so turned on, I was just horribly unsatisfied every time. Before him it was about a year again. So in 2-3 years it’s been a few episodes of really bad sex and that’s it

bangheadhere40 · 12/12/2019 20:05

I've had zero sex for 2 years, and then it was shit.

Menora · 12/12/2019 20:11

I’m terrible at it but I am trying to flirt with Mr Moving. I told him I bought new underwear 🙈

Menora · 12/12/2019 20:18

Aaaaaand... because we are both cheesy nerds the chat is as awkward as I expected 😂

Jane1978xx · 12/12/2019 20:24

I’d not had sex in 2 years then 4 times in one night / several hours with Mr gray plus all the extras 😂😂.

@NoMoreWeepingAndWanking he’s maybe just that type of person he thinks sat is agreed so that’s it sorted 🤷🏼‍♀️

Jane1978xx · 12/12/2019 20:25

@Menora mr. Moving sounds cute

Sunshineandflipflops · 12/12/2019 20:26

Spoken to Mr Ad. I'm going over tomorrow.

Think I need to go to bed and wake up on the other side.

I'm an M&S undie girl too. And Bravissimo but I can only afford like one bra a year from there 😂

It seems Mr Ad likes hold ups so I'm going to have to build my collection from the one pair I have...

Menora · 12/12/2019 20:27

He said he noticed my eyes not my boobs. And he loves my eyes

melts into puddle

Menora · 12/12/2019 20:28

He said this

‘I actually noticed your eyes more than your boobs on our date. Loved your eyes as it goes. Just saying 😉 x’

Aaaaaahhhh

NoMoreWeepingAndWanking · 12/12/2019 20:33

Sunshine - yay!
And try Brastop if you know what bravissimo size you are. Much more reasonable.

Ebay good for stockings and suspenders, if you want to go that way rather than hold ups

Jane- yup. Think you might be right. Sonething to discuss if this turns into an actual relationship

OP posts:
Sunshineandflipflops · 12/12/2019 20:38

I tried stockings/suspenders but found the suspender belt pretty uncomfortable and a PITA to go to the loo 😂

Mr Ad got an Xmas card today from his sister saying "to my brother and his partner" 😊😊😊

Menora · 12/12/2019 20:41

If I was going to do anything sexy I would just turn up in a coat and shoes to his front door with nothing on at all underneath. Bypassing all the annoying underwear 😂

BatshitCrazyWoman · 12/12/2019 21:08

Sunshine knickers over suspenders, then going to the loo is no issue ...

Marlboroandmalbec34 · 12/12/2019 21:40

sunshine if you have by chance found a hold up that stays up please do share 😁

Marlboroandmalbec34 · 12/12/2019 21:41

Thanks supercali

NoMoreWeepingAndWanking · 13/12/2019 06:11

I often wear stockings (don't tell the men I'm dating but it's for health reasons as I'm prone to a certain complaint if i wear tights or trousers too often. Not a sexy reason lol)
I wear proper old -fashioned suspender belts with 6 clips. Sturdy things that stay up and have the added benefit of smoothing your tummy down. Then knickers, if you wear any, over the top. I don't know why the adverts always show the knickers underneath: it's bizarre.

Anyway. I comfortably go all day in these. If i could just find someone who made wool rich stockings I would almost never wear tights again. As it is i have a couple of wool pairs which are cosy when it's really cold out. And one skirt which is too short for stockings unless i want to look like a hooker

BatshitCrazyWoman · 13/12/2019 06:40

Levante hold ups are excellent - I buy them from Stockings HQ (I think that's what the site is called)

BatshitCrazyWoman · 13/12/2019 06:41

NoMore I'm massively allergic to wool (including cashmere), angora and alpaca - the thought of wool stockings or tights is filling me with itchy horror 😂😂

Notcoolmum · 13/12/2019 06:48

@NoMoreWeepingAndWanking hope you are feeling brighter this morning. Did you say it had been 2 dates with your iron? I think if he makes you feel so insecure so early on it's not a healthy sign and I'd get rid.

I clicked on a horoscope yesterday that said I didn't need to find a partner to complete me. I needed to love myself. It really struck a chord with me. I've spent a year of highs and lows with Mr S, chasing those highs. So many times I should have walked away. I won't let a man make me feel less than again.
