  1. The first rule about the dating thread is don't talk about it with people you're dating.
  2. Develop a thick skin.
  3. Do not invest emotionally too soon.
  4. It's all BS until it actually happens.
  5. Trust your gut instinct.
  6. People vanishing, lying & being generally weird is not your fault.
  7. You are the prize - they should be trying to impress you.
  8. If it's not fun, stop.
  9. Loo update is mandatory.
10. No dating the thread. 11. Do unto others as you would have them do to you.

And a reminder - you don't know them until you know them!

Can someone give me an insight then please? Mr horizontal doesn't want a relationship and I feel he is pulling back more as time goes on but that could just be me overthinking as I want more than him.
I've never been in the mindset of not wanting a relationship. I want to be with someone I can text whenever and they text me back (not going 3 days without one, or 3 weeks of not seeing them), with someone who makes me feel special. I just don't get it!! Maybe I'm too needy 🤷‍♀️

CrazySnakeLady · 22/07/2019 16:21

I've been seeing MrGinger for 3 weeks now, very casual, just meet up for sex basically. He's ridiculously busy and I don't think he has time for a relationship, however much I might want one. So I have another iron lined up for tonight, we'll call him MrIT. He's coming over once the kids have gone to their Dad's house this evening, we'll have some wine and see where the evening takes us. He's younger than I normally go for and doesn't have kids, so we're in different places, but we'll see what happens.
I feel like I'm not doing a very good job of this dating stuff, it all seems to go from saying hi, to sexting, to shagging, with no actual dates 😂

CassettesAreCool · 22/07/2019 16:23

You have legitimate needs lily, you are not ‘needy’, and you know what you do/don’t want, you are not ‘overthinking’. It sounds to me that you and Mr H are on very different pages so you have come to the end of the roads. Get swiping.

MoreNiceCereal · 22/07/2019 16:23

Is he coming to your house? Is this the first time you've met up?

Lillyrose19 · 22/07/2019 16:28

I think you're right @CassettesAreCool , I just keep thinking what if he changes? Or why can't I accept it for what it is at the minute and enjoy it for what it is and have fun.

Ginmel · 22/07/2019 16:35

But what he's offering isn't what you are looking for @lillyrose19? I would struggle too, no matter how much I 'want' to accept things as they're are.

CassettesAreCool · 22/07/2019 16:49

lily he won’t change. And you can’t force yourself to find something fun if it’s not fun. No use analysing why really. Listen to your gut. You can believe it has your interests, and only your interests, at heart.

Peanuthedz · 22/07/2019 17:29

@Nurs123Bubbles what @StealthNinjaMum said. Dating is a steep learning curve.

@Sidge yay!

I can't understand the finger thing. The bigger the gap the bigger the ...?

@CrazySnakeLady have you met this man before? If not then maybe change date to somewhere public. Might be the reason it all goes straight to sex....

BatshitCrazyWoman · 22/07/2019 17:31

lilly if he isn't offering what you want, then you're opening yourself up to a lot of pain, as you get more invested as time goes by.

Yay Sidge that's lovely!

Mr BC and I are making plans for Christmas, and also I'm his plus one for a wedding in Europe next July ....

Marlboroandmalbec34 · 22/07/2019 17:58

Yay batshit

batshit I’m so pleased for you, bit jealous too of course! You made a decision to seek a proper relationship and you found one. That’s my inspiration 😊 but I’m nowhere near there yet.

Cleaning out my cupboards. Keeping Mr Greedy FWB, am letting Mr Mad FB go - can’t get over the ‘how was work this week’ post-coital gambit. Mr Courteous is lovely but I can never come first with him, he is in a nightmare situation with his DC and I have enough issues of my own. I have to tell him but I think he is going to be very disappointed ☹️ Have two other Tinder irons, both rather serious-minded I think. Ah well. Once more unto the breach.

Peanuthedz · 22/07/2019 21:42

Just popping by very quickly. Mr U is here and he was telling me a long complicated story which he broke off from suddenly to ask, "why you looking at my fingers? " 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Ginmel · 22/07/2019 21:44

😂😂 Surely you knew the answer before though. Does the theory fit?

helpmebefree · 22/07/2019 22:05

Great news on the relationships!

I wonder if you guys can help me with my Tnder profile. I've got really nice photos which is great- but currently just cannot get any convo going- I was thinking of saying about being recently divorced- to kind of make it clear I'm not up for anything serious. Hmm any suggestions will be welcome- don't want to go too far with the up for anything vibe either

supercali77 · 22/07/2019 22:12

@helpmebefree you can use insinuating terms like 'Fun evenings', 'open minded' etc. Realistically if you want you can just say 'Not looking for anything serious' and then screen any matches/convos. The world is your smorgasbord

JeSuisPrest · 22/07/2019 22:42

Bugger, just wrote a long post and lost it.

Short version- ime tall and big shoe size = big cock. MrC 6ft 4" size 12 = happy JeSuis.

I need advice on a knock his socks off, guaranteed to make him fall in love with me dress choice for an upcoming birthday... (mine). We don't go out often so I need to make this count - I'm normally in jeans/denim skirt and t shirt. He does like me in black and he likes my boobs/legs, but don't want to do boobs and legs in the same outfit...I'm too chicken to post in Style and Beauty and I don't have enough real life friends to ask (tiny 🎻) So if you want to can you say red or black and I'll go with the majority...🙈🤞🏻

I'll read through last couple of days thread and catch up tomorrow.😊

I won't lie @JeSuisPrest you look stunning in both. Very hard decision id possibly go with black as it clings a bit more.x

Ginmel · 22/07/2019 22:53

Black. That's a stunning dress. The red is more casual.

Ginmel · 22/07/2019 22:53

I would wear some colourful heels though.

Ginmel · 22/07/2019 22:55

And you have a fantastic figure
Lucky Mr C too

Theworldcouldbemymollusc · 22/07/2019 23:04

Black by a whisker!! Both look fab though!!

Lillyrose19 · 22/07/2019 23:08

Can I just say, I wish you all lived by me and we could be real life friends!😍 you're all (well most) sooo lovely x

Peanuthedz · 22/07/2019 23:14

Blimey @JeSuisPrest What's wrong with the man?!!! I prefer red. But either is gorgeous. Wow.

putastrawunderbaby · 22/07/2019 23:20

Black. Lordy woman, you are hot!

helpmebefree · 22/07/2019 23:42

@JeSuisPrest both look totally amazing and will knock his socks off!!!
I thought red by a tiny whisker, but both look fantastic!
