Dating thread rules:

  1. The first rule about the dating thread is you don't talk about it with people you're dating.
  2. Develop a thick skin.
  3. Do not invest emotionally too soon.
  4. It's all BS until it actually happens.
  5. Trust your gut instinct.
  6. People vanishing, lying & being generally weird is not your fault.
  7. You are the prize - they should be trying to impress you.
  8. If it's not fun, stop.
  9. Loo update is mandatory.
10. No dating the thread

ignoring go for it! He clearly has no issue with your ages. For what ots worth nearly every guy ive had dealings with recently have been in the 28-32 bracket and I'm 40 this year. I have a lot of energy so I'm no freaked out by the younger man!

Do it! Just keep an open mind:)

Just opened my emails to find my bathroom plans in my in of with an invitation to call him totall about the work today. And a " bj" at the end.

Always makes me titter, here they sign off with bj, means means beijinho (kiss), but I like the connotation 😂😂

pudding21 · 20/02/2018 07:45

My bloody phone again! I can write! Honest!

Chocolate123 · 20/02/2018 07:49

So loose date arrangement for Thursday made on Saturday after texting and a phone call which went really well. Got a text on Sunday saying be in touch with details etc... nothing since despite being online a lot yesterday. Is this normal? Should there not be more conversation in between before the date? Or do I sit tight and wait until he contacts re details?

Kinunir · 20/02/2018 07:54

I wouldn't fret about a low amount of conversation before a first(?) date (rule #3).

Chocolate123 · 20/02/2018 07:57

Note to self re read rulesGrin

Bloodyuselessatthinkingofaname · 20/02/2018 07:59

chocolate on Wed I would send a message saying "just wanted to check that we are still on for tomorrow night . If not then fuck off " - no Grin last bit is "no problem" !

Bloodyuselessatthinkingofaname · 20/02/2018 08:08

ignoring he was really funny and attractive - it was a great meet so think it is worth another go Grin

ValMc1 · 20/02/2018 08:09

I suspended my Tinder and Our Time account this morning (having paid £40 for it 10 days ago for a month). Just woke up and thought I can't be bothered so will leave things a few weeks and see what happens. Kin - Glad you are in one piece.

Kinunir · 20/02/2018 08:18

Don't quit so easily Val! These things take time. The patience of a saint is often required, and I should know!

RunsforCake14 · 20/02/2018 08:31

I've been winked at by a 22 year old. Sadly he's in the too far away category. Not in the too young category, not at all Grin

Val I'm always getting fed up and deleting my accounts. Then I get bored/lonely and try again. And get frustrated with the lack of response again.
I've decided this time to just let my profile sit there and check in once a day. I only swipe on Tinder either late at night or early morning as people are likely to be home then.
If someone looks at my profile and I like them then I'll message them. Otherwise I'm trying to keep away from OLD for a while.

Ha ha pudding I really want to start signing off with bj, as it makes me laugh but could lead to all sorts of trouble over here! I really have no intention of meeting a 28 yo but I do wish I could play you all his song as you would understand why part of me wants to marry him :)
Bloody def worth a second meet then, he sounds great, hope you enjoy it.
Val I get the same (although I'm too tight to waste £40) and often just delete everything for some headspace and a reality check, but then I get bored and take a peek and before I know it am arranging to meet more unscrupulous characters :) To be fair most people have been really nice, just no one amazing sadly, I'm holding out for amazing.

pudding21 · 20/02/2018 09:16

I still think you should ignoring or atleast enjoy the admiration from a young hot male for a while longer.

So email from architect said this " Attached are some ideias for the upper bathroom.
Call me to debate some of them for me to know which is the way ;) "

Is he being cheeky? Call me to debate with a wink ;)

I have to maintain composure......I have to maintain composure!

CoverMeLads · 20/02/2018 09:18

We all deserve amazing. I do question if it’s out there (on OLD I mean) some times. I know nice is, I know normal is, I just wonder if anyone who’ll give me the RH is.

But I’ll keep looking for now Grin

VixenSixen · 20/02/2018 09:21

Ignoring: I met a guy who was almost 7 years younger than me and it was the best thing I ever did in terms of boosting my confidence and self esteem. Problem is that I enjoyed myself so much that everyone else I have met since does not meet the standard....... go for it! It is fun and exciting, you never know where it may lead.

😊🙈

Kinunir · 20/02/2018 09:24

pudding why don't you call him and say you are looking for a relaxing and romantic bathroom and ask what he would recommend? It'll be sure to get his mind thinking in a certain way Wink

cover I'm sure we'll all get there some day, even if the journey is so damn time-consuming.

VixenSixen · 20/02/2018 09:24

Val: I usually delete my profile at least once a week and I'm usually back after a few days 🙈 it is exhausting sometimes and you need a bit of space to get your head together again.

I am speaking to two guys this morning, conversation is going well so it I restoring my faith after a week of guys just wanting a hookup and some outright filthy conversation starters. I mean I am open minded but jeez 🙈

SpringtimeSun · 20/02/2018 09:31

Yeah I can second meeting the younger man as the ultimate confidence booster. I'll be 40 this year and last year meet a VERY hot 32yo in the pub!! A real life meet no less!! and we've had plenty of FB fun since then.
I was smiling for days after the 1st night GrinBlushGrin

CoverMeLads · 20/02/2018 09:35

I’ve done my first block: if I’m messaged “hey babe” I’m never going to respond. And if that person messages again then winks at me Every. Sodding. Day. it starts to feel like stalking.

What do you guys block for?

SpringtimeSun · 20/02/2018 09:35

I have a 3rd date planned loosely for the weekend.
I'm away at an activity I do but if it doesn't go well then I can come home early and we have penciled in a 3rd date (and possibly a sleepover) to cheer me up.

He's really easy to chat with, I've known people way longer than him and not felt so comfortable with them.
Not sure about serving MB. But we've chatted about it and he knows that they might not be on the menu.

SpringtimeSun · 20/02/2018 09:42

Sometimes Cover I block like you have cause I know I won't reply. Ever.
I block all the pervy ones.
I block any repeat offenders the "are you still here" types.
Depends on my mood bit I'm pretty block happy.
I don't block just because someone hasn't replied straight away. I've had that done to me and it's just weird. It does save time tho.

VixenSixen · 20/02/2018 09:54

Cover: I block for the guy who sends me about 20 messages before I've even had chance to open it up. I block the crude ones and I block if the topic instantly wanders onto sex within the first couple of message exchanges. I'm partial to a bit of flirting but some of these guys are bad

RunsforCake14 · 20/02/2018 09:56

Cover I block the ones who keep winking at me. As you say it's a bit like stalking.

I agree with dating younger men as a confidence boost. My last relationships have both been with younger guys. But it does mean all the men my age seem so old.

ValMc1 · 20/02/2018 10:00

I'm not giving up - just not feeling it right now. I've got a busy few weeks. Also I'm getting RSI from swiping left lol.

Kinunir · 20/02/2018 10:04

I think I'm developing RSI for altogether different reasons Blush. Aargh, damn MissIntellectual Sad

CoverMeLads · 20/02/2018 10:15

Oh my good God. I’ve had this 31 yr old winking and viewing the last few days (have ignored). Just sent me a message : “is 2” too small?”. I mean WTAF?

Pudding I like Kin’s idea. How about next time you meet saying “Bathroom’s aren’t just for getting clean you know” and then wink so hard you dislocate your eyelid?
