Hello Smile

I’m Mouse one of the Brave Babes who ride on this wonderful Bus, called Gerald, along with all the Opal Fruits wrappers and of course Barry The squid. Grin

We all have a wise variety of life experiences and experiences with alcohol too. We’re not admirers of hang overs and we certainly don’t do judgey pants!

We’re here to ride along with you, when life is pants but also when it’s not as well and you my want to celebrate that bit too much!

So find a seat and come take a ride. I’ll link the previous and also the very first link and the reason we’re all here.

foreverblessedbee · 30/11/2017 18:01

Hi everyone! How are we all doing?
I'm just checking in the bus for a mooch really...maybe just a little sit on the back seat and gaze out of the window and listen to everyone else's interesting conversations....(((pulls parka hood up and tries not to make eye contact.... )))))
I'm on day 18 alcohol free. Longest I've gone without wine since.....forever it seems......I'm missing it
lots... loads.

I'm missing the mind numbing effect. The quieting it has on my thoughts.
I'm missing the sense of time that's mine. Grown up time. Not being a mummy and wide 24 seven. Having a break from responsibility because I'm half cut on a bottle of wine once my babies are asleep.....
On a more positive note....
My skin looks brighter.
I feel slimmer.
Im running better.
I feel I'm doing the right, responsible thing.

I know this is the path I need and want to take.
But I really really really would love a glass of white wine right now. Which is odd as I was on red for a couple of months before I stopped.

Ho -hum.... tiddly pom....it's been snowing here , just a bit but enough to look Christmassy......
(((Pulls parka back up))
Smile
As you were ladies xxxxxxxxxx

foreverblessedbee · 30/11/2017 20:30

Hey spanna and razorboy....
It's bloody hard isn't it. Thank God for the bus and all the babe's on it. I would never have made it this far without you lot. (((((Offers Schweppes diet ginger ale, current drug of choice....if you try hard enough you can imagine it's prosecco -perfect colour and bubbles.......))))))))
Now pass me the opal fruits........ xxxx

Ha ha. That looks cosy hope

gingergenius · 30/11/2017 21:41

I had a single glass of wine last night but nothing today. Even went to the shop and considered a bottle (even though I still feel rough) but I walked straight past!!!

Just wish I could shift this illness. Been worrying it's my liver or pancreas playing up just as I've decided to grasp the nettle so to speak!

foreverblessedbee · 01/12/2017 10:38

Morning all
bus babe's....Smile feeling a bit more hopeful and happier this morning.
Went to my weight watchers meeting this morning and I've lost 5 and a half pound in 2 weeks-that's a result for me!

So I'll add that to my incentive listXmas Smile
Have a good day everyone. Well done ginger for walking past the wine!!!! And one glass is amazing. I could never do that xx

venusandmars · 01/12/2017 10:51

Wondering jow mshoolie is doing? Let us know if you get a chance, even if it's not good, we all care.

LookingforHope · 01/12/2017 11:09

Bee that is amazing! Well done. I lose weight so slowly it is painful ... but have managed to drop 16lb this year (and I am short so it is noticeable). I am also convincing myself that I am gaining a ton of lean muscle... which may or may not be true Wink. Well done on swerving the wine Ginger. I had a post work drink last night... it's the season isn't it, and I work opposite a Christmas market which doesn't help. Planning an AF weekend although colleague has just informed me about free G&T after work. Sigh. Will try to go home early to avoid. Roll on Dry January. And yes MrsHoolies please pop in and say hello xxx We are keeping a seat here for you.

gingergenius · 01/12/2017 11:12

@foreverblessedbee I wish I could say it was due to willpower and determination but in reality it was just because I was feeling so shit! Well done on the weight loss

dementedma · 01/12/2017 19:38

christmas tree up tonight. it's early as dd2 is home this weekend and not here for Christmas. so it's a christmas weekend. Tonight is a roast dinner, then a Christmas movie and tomorrow is our craft day. We are making the cake (very late this year), red cabbage to freeze, christmas cookies to ice, Christingles, Christmas cards and a wreath!! wish me luck. they fight more now as adults/teens than as wee ones. The tree is dripping tastelessly with coloured lights, tinsel and years of decorations made, collected and given by friends and family; a dancing frog, a tin china man which belonged to my parents, a baby's first christmas spinner (baby is 27) and a Christmas pudding with a moustache given by dd2s BF. I looked at the resulting tat fest and said "It's not a very elegant tree" and DD2 said " mum, it's a memory tree!"

gingergenius · 01/12/2017 21:05

Crashed and burned tonight. Have told oh it's over but he's refusing to hear me. Apparently my mental health issues are stopping me seeing the bigger picture.

I feel like I'm going insane.

I'm now on a bottle of fizz because the alternative is a straight jacket.
