The Brave Babes Battle Bus - Braving The Wine Witch & Her Alcohol Free Autumn

Mouseface · 01/11/2017 20:08

Hello Smile

I’m Mouse one of the Brave Babes who ride on this wonderful Bus, called Gerald, along with all the Opal Fruits wrappers and of course Barry The squid. Grin

We all have a wise variety of life experiences and experiences with alcohol too. We’re not admirers of hang overs and we certainly don’t do judgey pants!

We’re here to ride along with you, when life is pants but also when it’s not as well and you my want to celebrate that bit too much!

So find a seat and come take a ride. I’ll link the previous and also the very first link and the reason we’re all here.

welcome smiled. come and join the throng.
keep strong Bernie and you will feel so pleased tomorrow. I have found days 1 and 2 suprisingly easy, perhaps because I had been moderating beforehand. This is not to sound remotely smug - I've been on this bus for YEARS because it is such a difficult battle. Day 3 is usually a challenge for me - I've fallen at that hurdle before many a time.

Keep posting - especially when you are struggling and feeling down.

SweetLathyrus
Haha! I would love a bright yellow so'wester. It's just a lively lovely brilliant blue Trespass coat, a cheaper version of a Seasalt Tiller coat which I have been salivating after for the last year.

MintToBee · 02/01/2018 19:25

Calling mouse
Are you ok my lovely? This thread is almost full!

SummerScoop · 02/01/2018 19:31

Struggling tonight despite having anxiety still after last night and spending half the day hungover theres an open bottle of wine in the fridge that's bothering me. Hmm

rothbury · 02/01/2018 19:34

Throw it down the sink summer

dementedma · 02/01/2018 19:39

mouse in on FB sometimes but has been ill a lot last year. It would be great to see her back. Any one else up for doing a new link if she doesn't appear?

Agree chuck it down the sink summer. Can you do the drill? for newbies this is putting pjs on (stops you going to the shops), cleaning your teeth (minty taste makes wine taste awful), drinking a big gass of water for hydration and then off to bed with a mug of tea, hot chocolate...

If you are craving sugar, have sweets like fruit pastilles, jelly babies or Opal Fruits (which is why the bus is permanently littered with Opal Fruit papers).

Twattage13 · 02/01/2018 19:53

Summer definitely down the sink...stop the torture of it talking to you. I've already done the drill so I'll say night night now to all babes...x

dementedma · 02/01/2018 20:08

well done twattage heading that way myself shortly

Wrongwayup · 02/01/2018 20:19

Day 1 today as lunch out yesterday. Did do a couple of AF days last week though. Is Elba still around. I hoped she would reappear with the new year. Think she was struggling with similar issues to me so before I started posting her posts always resonated with me.

lastnamefirstfirstnamelast · 02/01/2018 20:41

Has anyone else noticed if they feel more sleepy? I was in bed for 8. With a sweet milky chamomile tea while watching friends on the ipad xx

BernieBear · 02/01/2018 21:03

How lovely of you all to comment, I'm fine now. Have eaten etc so feeling better. I'm so used to not eating until 10ish that I don't feel hungry at the "normal" time and, without the wine, maybe the blood sugars or something go down. I just need to get used to eating normally and feeling hungry. Thank you for your support.
Sweet yes it did pass and I need to remember that and twattage well done you for walking on by and good luck for Saturday (and Ive also successfully drunk through illness 😁)
Yorkshire thanks. Once I've lost some weight I'm sure I'll feel great after a run, at the moment I feel like I need a tummy sports bra 😂.
Rothbury im looking forward to the zing and end I'm heading to Bedfordshire now.
Summer I hope you managed to tip it away, I'd struggle having wine in the house right now.
Sleep well everyone, thanks again x

SweetLathyrus · 02/01/2018 21:09

Busy, busy bus, buzzing with support. I'm nearly ready for bed, there is only so much fizzy water I can take!

If you like, I'll do a new thread now, but no-one is allowed on there until this one is finished.

SweetLathyrus · 02/01/2018 21:24

No Babe left behind.

Margie32 · 02/01/2018 21:50

Can’t keep up! Filling the thread. Great to see you Lucking, may I congratulate you on the excellent name change! So good to see you too Fox, have a seat and tell us what you’ve been up to. Wrong, I was hoping to see the beautiful Elba too, maybe if we shout really loudly she’ll hear us...

Margie32 · 02/01/2018 21:52

I’ve had an utterly shit day which involved my brother being a champion arse and head lice treatment for all the family. However, I didn’t make it worse but adding booze to the mix and for that I am very grateful.

Night night every babe.

LuxuryWoman2017 · 02/01/2018 22:01

Checking in so we don't lose anyone for the new thread. See you all there!

Yorkshireteaforme · 02/01/2018 22:11

Seven cups of herbal tea (I feel all sloshy like a water bed) but no booze. It's very windy here so hopefully that'll kill me to sleep. Night all x

venusandmars · 02/01/2018 22:16

Thanks for the new thread sweet I was very naughty and sneaked in to grab the first new place GrinBlush

For any new babes, it's important to fill this thread up, and in the final few posts to make sure that there are clicky links to the new thread. That way everyone should be able to find us.

Good luck to all of us.

spanna41 · 02/01/2018 22:17

spanna41 · 02/01/2018 22:33

Margie sorry you've had a shitty day Sad mines been pretty crappy too.

Arrived at work today (went back yesterday) called into a meeting by manager turns out the witch at work has put in ANOTHER grievance against me for bullying ShockShockAngry can't believe it!!!! So 1pm went into a meeting with witch, mgr and I insisted I had an independent witness. FFS. She's talking out of her arse and I'm so shocked. I think she was encouraged to put in grievance (will never know) turns out I was looking at the ceiling during a head of dept meeting last week (whilst she was talking) made her feel uncomfortable - honestly you couldn't make it up
And breathe....as you were.... Rant over......

SweetLathyrus · 02/01/2018 22:47

CreepyPasta · 02/01/2018 22:57

Hi Ladies

Can I jump on the bus please? My binge drinking has been getting considerably worse over the past 6 months. I think in those 6 months I've been drunk more than sober. The latest binge started on NYE afternoon and finished at 4am. I'm so ashamed with myself. My DH is working nights tonight and I had to arrange childcare for my DD as I wasn't capable of looking after her. I'm currently convincing myself that I'm having a heart attack, this is the worst hangover anxiety I've ever had. I spoke to aa on their online chat earlier and I'll be going to my first meeting tomorrow. I'm 37 and can't continue like this.
