Bf said ex is slimmer than me!

Grooves · 24/07/2017 10:29

He's said it before and I mentioned him saying it to which his reply was "she is skinnier than you"

I feel like it's a comparison and it's pissed me off! I hate his ex with an absolute passion (lots of drama when we first started dating, she was basically a disrespectful bitch) so for him to say it is like a kick in the teeth. I'd like to add I'm pretty slim, I weigh about 7stone.3 and have a nice tummy, my bmi being 18 (would have my 6 pack back if I went to the gym) but I still feel crap.

Am I being stupid?

A disrespectful bitchHmm

AlpacasPackOwls · 24/07/2017 10:34

Hmm Depends on context. Just an observation doesn't mean much.

noego · 24/07/2017 10:34

Tell him to go fuck himself, If he is that superficial.

Justhadmyhaircut · 24/07/2017 10:34

Didn't your ex have a bigger penis than his??

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 24/07/2017 10:36

So you ask him whether she's skinnier that you and get upset.
You ask us if you're stupid and you will get upset st the replies.
See the pattern?
I'd

chubbymummy · 24/07/2017 10:36

Well with a BMI of 18 you're technically underweight so being 'skinnier' than you is not really a compliment is it?!

PinkHeart5911 · 24/07/2017 10:36

It depends on the context really doesn't it

Quite honestly "disrespect bitch" why is the ex that? Because she had him before you did? I bet your a delight

boggedoff · 24/07/2017 10:37

Are you all teenagers ?

BusterGonad · 24/07/2017 10:37

If this is all you have to worry about then good for you! Are you 16 btw?

Angelf1sh · 24/07/2017 10:38

He might have been saying it as an observable fact, he might have been saying it as part of saying he prefers your shape, he might have been saying it to upset you. I'd find it a bit of a weird thing to say in any context really as I can't see why the comparison would need to be made but I'd only be really worried if it was said in the latter context.

Grooves · 24/07/2017 10:38

I didn't ask if she was, he's said it to me "well she's skinnier than you"

OP posts:
hellsbellsmelons · 24/07/2017 10:38

Didn't your ex have a bigger penis than his??
Love it - roll that one out every time he says about how slim you are.
Him: Ex, she is skinnier than you
You: Yeah my Ex has a bigger penis than you, so what?
He'll soon stop.
But why are you with him anyway?
He's sounds like an asshole!

emilybrontescorset · 24/07/2017 10:38

You are very thin so his ex much be incredibly thin.
When he says it tell him how your ex had a firmer bum than he does, more tinned abs etc etc.

ShowOfHands · 24/07/2017 10:39

It's a statement of fact, not a value judgement. One which you deliberately asked for too.

Does it matter that she's skinnier? And if so, why?

ShatnersWig · 24/07/2017 10:39

How odd, OP, when only yesterday on another thread you declared:

I can't stand lasses that have no respect for other lasses

Not sure "disrespectful bitch" falls under the phrase 'respectful'

acornsandnuts · 24/07/2017 10:39

Well is she? If indeed she is it's a fact so really don't ask if you're not wanting the answer.

And you do sound very young.

Grooves · 24/07/2017 10:40

No, because when we started dating she was always messaging, ringing him whilst I was with him!

He blocked her and she turned up at his home uninvited. That's why I find her disrespectful.

BrokenBattleDroid · 24/07/2017 10:40

If you remove the idea that slimmer=more attractive then it's meaningless. Just like saying his ex had longer/shorter hair than you. It really depends how he said it and how he meant to make you feel.

Sounds like the tip of the iceberg of problems thought, or you wouldn't be posting. Is it a happy relationship otherwise?

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 24/07/2017 10:41

Did your dating overlap?

moomoome · 24/07/2017 10:41

id tell him he is must welcome to go back to shagging a stick if he would prefer it as you much prefer a man with more than a twig Grin

RockyBird · 24/07/2017 10:42

How long do you plan on going out with this bloke for?

Grooves · 24/07/2017 10:44

My ex has a better job, a mortgage and is on 3k a month, I would never mention this as I feel it would be rubbing my partners face in it as compared he earns very little.

I dunno, to me it's not something I'd do to anyone! I'm not like that, I'm honest but I know when and where to be honest.

OP posts:
ChardonnaysPrettySister · 24/07/2017 10:44

Look, forget the skinny thing.
If he wants to wind you up and it seems he does then he will always find something.
Dump him.

KungFuPandaWorksOut16 · 24/07/2017 10:47

Wait so he just randomly dropped in that his ex was skinnier? Makes no sense.
Unless the topic was on the ex and someone has made a comment on her weight and he answered that back.

Oh let's roll out penis size. Classic comeback.
