How long were you together before you got engaged?

Disclosure - I do not want my DP to propose or to be engaged yet but I'm just wondering what the average relationship length is before you get engaged? My parents were engaged 4 months after meeting each other ( which I know is unusual) and I've been with DP for 4 years and no ring is on either of our horizons right now.
How long were you with your DP before you got engaged ?

2 weeks. Maybe less. We married a year later, had 2 kids and are celebrating our 22nd anniversary this year. Still my soulmate

Got engaged about 3 years after we got together and married a year and a half after that.

Been married 4.5 years now, together for just over 9 and have a 7 month old baby boy

Proposal and acceptance after three weeks but the ring took another two months to arrive (was made for me). Married 18 months later. Been together ten years now and still feel like newlyweds 😍

We got engaged after around 4 years and married just over a year later. Married 3 years now and together for 8. I thought he'd never propose but was very happy when he did!

Engaged after 6 weeks. Married within 6 months. Together 6 years

We were together for almost 9 years before we got engaged and we got married 6 months later. We knew very early on though that we wanted to marry each other but there were lots of other things we wanted to do first i.e. buying a house, furthering our careers, etc. We've now been married for 9 months and have a 9 week old DS 😁

Engaged after 7 years, we will be married after 8.

I think it makes a big difference as to when you met. I met DP at 20, couple of friends met at 16/17 and were together 10+ years before getting married.

My older friends who met their partners at 30+ have definitely sped things up more. One couple had met, engaged, married and were pregnant within 18 months. But they were both 37.

Just over 5 years. We were very young when we met though- I was 19 and we didn't become official until I was 20.

If we met for the first time today, I expect we'd get engaged much sooner.

Two months. We moved in together after 18mths and then got married 18 months after that (we had to do a lot of saving up for a house then for the wedding). Been married nearly 22 years.

Friends for 10 years, followed by FWB for a few months, then dated properly for a year before getting engaged then married a year later.

6.5 years, but we got together really young so wouldn't have married any younger. Engagement lasted 15 months. Married for nearly ten years now.

Wr got engaged after 2 months. 23 years later we're still engaged....

6 years 😂 But then again we were 15 when we first got together.

Got engaged after 8 years, married at the 10 year mark. But we were still only 25 when we got married, so we wouldn't have done it any earlier as I went to uni then we moved in together after that.

We skipped the engaged bit, went from meeting to marrying in 9 weeks.

DH and I were childhood sweethearts too - together since we were 17 so 11 years to get engaged and 12 before we got married didn't seem so bad!

8 years after meeting ... been together now for 17 years....

Engaged after 4 months married 3 months later.

Together for 7 years, just got married, didn't bother faffing with engagement.
Registry office wedding, told all family & friends the week before.
Married now for 17 years, together 24 years.
