Let me know how that goes. My dd1 has an incredibly sharp tongue on her too. She is very critical of me if I try to discipline her or reprimand her so I have always parented in ''don't push back too hard'' kind of way. My dd has an iphone too, my brother gave it to her. No contract but wifi and I give her money to buy credit about once a month. Although she gaslights me a bit :-p could be every 3 weeks !

DD said ''fuck you'' to me when H was here. He was appalled. I couldn't care less now if he was appalled or not. His studious angels were perfect of course. But I'd be in fear of her doing it again, in front of somebody I cared about losing.

Will you be able to go to work tomorrow with no au pair - hope you get something sorted.

He shouldn't mess with your head messaging your sister, but I get just wanting a connection, but not making direct contact. He just wants a small thread in the universe that continues to link you. He's not ready to let that go.

What does he think though!? That it's a good idea!?

The break up wasn't traumatic for him, so at the risk of giving it too much thought I wonder if he's beginning to reminisce with nostalgia now. Like, as though you parted friends and you'd still be out there thinking fondly of him, wishing him well Confused

I'd guess he knows full well that that's impossible - but I'd say now that the whole 'Two Women Both Wanting Me Drama' has died down completely , he remembers your relationship more fondly because for him the ending was an ego boost not a trauma. He must think back to your sanity, home, income, life, job and you did have good times.... so now that things have settled down with his gf I bet he would LIKE to hear from you as that would flatter his ego again. He's probably slightly put out that you didn't crack and text him at 3 am a few times. You've given him 8 weeks of not contacting him. That can't be good for his ego.
So he's putting out little feelers now. Even a reprimand would be good for his ego.

I'm going to have a glass of wine now too. ~At home though. Exercise another day.

I got a message on okcupid and then when I logged on to check it, a couple of other messages popped in to my box. Wasted an evening chatting with people I won't meet. One lives round the corner from MSG !! No idea how he affords to live in the best part of town as he's a student. That's code for made redundant at 50 I think. Hmm. Another, I had a great chat with him but he lives too far away. it was fun though. I was briefly chaatting to a guy whose profile looks good and he seemed nice but at 49 he wants to have children (it says so in his profile). Pointless meeting him.
I am not paying a babysitter to meet a date off tinternet until after a job offer. It just has to be in that order

hope you had a good night with your friend.

ocelot7 · 08/09/2016 23:21

Yes I hope you've enjoyed a glass or 2 tonight Waving
Are you serious about being sacked? Reprimanded( Does anyone at work know what you've been going through? In retrospect I wished I'd taken some time off as suggested by my Dr then I wouldn't have messed up at work & got into a bit of trouble & more stress

ocelot7 · 08/09/2016 23:22

Btw pls don't wave cheerily at him - he doesn't deserve it. Just blank him

Re chatting to pointless people - I wouldn't get anyone within 10km -CB is 50km away! Which is going to be problematic in winter on country roads. ..

You should have rest days so tske today as one :) I was reading about hiit (high impact interval trng?) on BBC website - seemingly good results re fitness from about 5 mins 3x per week

It will be interesting if MTG is at window when gf there at w/end. Blank blank blank - you ate not his weekday distraction!

Im not going to admonish you for messaging him (I did that more often thsn I care to remember!) but its not good for you to be 'connected' - I couldn't see that myself re M for the longest time... btw he wasn't at the gig last night which was a relief

PuffPastry314 · 09/09/2016 08:13

Ocelot the only one who lived vaguely near me was dopey. The one I was bouncing off was probably a bit of a player and he lived 100k away. The one who looked like The Best Bet was 49 with no kids. Geez all these men in their late 40s and early 50s who have ticked 'want children' - wow. At least they're honest. I am glad because now having been round the block a few times and having nothing but lessons to show for it, I am glad they're honest.

I wonder if he'll be at his window today as well. Ignore ignore ignore. You will look strong, sane, healthy and fabulous as you jog past. I'm going rogue a bit here, but the 25 gf probably shook him awake at 4 am to ask him nervously ''what are you thinking?" He's the one making her paranoid though Wink She knows something's up. And it is. She's right. Having a 25 year old gf is no longer feeding his ego sufficiently. He's looking for new ways to feed his ego now.

PuffPastry314 · 09/09/2016 08:14

Surmising somewhat there Grin

PuffPastry314 · 09/09/2016 08:20

Oops missed waving's second message, you phoned in the run this morning, well, shake it up a little and give work you're all today. Be really annoyingly keen and productive at work today.

I phoned in the workout last night too.
Who's the date with tonight?

Off to work now.
On foot. I get sick of this same route.
A bike would be so fabulous.

ocelot7 · 09/09/2016 09:52

Get a cheap bike off Ebay or borrow the kid's 314 ? wish it was flatter here but too hilly & I would arrive at work a sweaty mess- that is if not flattened enroute...

Don't recall dopey - or are these all from last night? I'm so glad not to be OLD - feels a bit like the lottery ie the odds hardly different even if you don't buy a ticket...Though wasn't active even when CB contacted me...Keep exploring RL options - going to interesting stuff where you might meet people with some shared interests. And because I'm sure you shine in RL :)

Waving you shouldn't have been running on the same day as a 2 hr cycle anyway - acquire some less strenuous hobbies too!
I hope he's gazing out of the window still waiting for you! Was wondering if you could reverse yr route sometimes to fox him too...

Happy Friday everybody... btw wheres that loved up Handywoman ?

I;m going to look in to bikes. I reckon I can get one that doesn't break the bank.

I think MTG's behaving like somebody who wants attention so don't feed his ego again, with any kind of response to his risk- free indirect 'feelers'. He 'poked' you a bit indirectly.

Still, your reply did see through his lack of bravery so I doubt that fed his ego in the right way.

Have a great time tonight!

PuffPastry314 · 09/09/2016 16:47

ocelot Handy's status updates have been very steady for a while now.
I'm worried about Freaky
I hope she's ok.

ocelot7 · 09/09/2016 18:47

Oh yes - where is Freaky ? Hope she's well

I'm sure you can find a bike 314 - a local bike coop here has sales every month & sells reconditioned bikes from £50. They also teach you how to maintain it. People may also be selling bikes they never used in local ads
