  1. The first rule about the dating thread is you don't talk about it with people you're dating.
  2. Develop a thick skin.
  3. Do not invest emotionally too soon.
  4. It's all BS until it actually happens.
  5. Trust your gut instinct.
  6. People vanishing, lying & being generally weird is not your fault.
  7. You are the prize-they should be trying to impress you.
  8. If it's not fun, stop.
  9. Loo update is mandatory.
10. No dating the thread. 11. Read Why Men Love Bitches (aka WMLB), and take from it what you will. 12. Don't serve up moose burgers on the first date (although this is still in debate right now) 13. Matthew Hussey also very useful. And very easy on the eye even if you don't find him any good. 14. IF THEY SAY THEY DON'T WANT A RELATIONSHIP, THEY DON'T WANT A RELATIONSHIP

If you really just want some casual sex, go on 'Fab Swingers', there's tons of single guys on there. But be warned, you'll be bombarded by them! There's actually quite a few single mums on there who find it hard to go out and meet people and also maybe don't have time for a full on committed relationship. Check it out and see what you think. You can set filters so only certain ages can contact you or you can block single men and then search yourself for who you'd like to meet. There's also tons more men than women so you have a wide choice of guys!

SortingStuffStill · 08/09/2016 06:21

Hmmm. Think 2 of yesterday evening's most recent posters must be getting up for school now Hmm

Slowlyslowly · 08/09/2016 06:55

I have the boundary issues too. It's not really that I expect them to just be respectful, and pay attention to how I react... Or maybe that is what I'm hoping for? Isn't that acceptable?
sorting it sounds like you just want someone normal. Don't be put off by the nutters.
MrKeen has wished me well. It got a bit hairy for a while; when I properly spelt it out that it was too intense and too much checking up on me, he ramped up the messages and started calling. I spoke to him yesterday and he explained why he thinks he's like that. He knows now that isn't compatible with me right now. Feel a bit sad, but having to keep reminding myself there were definitely red flags. Was even considering Sarah's law. Working gently on a couple of new irons but not feeling that excited, nervous thing.

PrizeyPrize · 08/09/2016 10:38

Hi all, what flurry of activity here! Will catch up in a bit but forgive me because I have to offload:
I'm kind of going off the boil with H&C, the playing hot and cold is doing my head in. I don't think its unreasonable to expect the man I've been sleeping with for a month to initiate a text and ask how my day is once in a while, I don't think its unreasonable to not be expected to do all the running (date planning, transportation), I don't think its unreasonable for him to take the bait I offer and tell me he'll come off the dating site too, when I've told him I have. I'm all or nothing and at the moment it feels like its all me and nothing from him. I've had enough tbh, I think I deserve more than this. I'm stepping back and letting him come to me, if he wants to, but I think I'm past caring tbh. I was weighing up the pros and cons last night and the cons went onto 2 hands, while the pros only went onto one, mostly him being fit. Time for me to re-evaluate and get some more irons. Tried to reload Tinder, but it seems to be down, anyone else having problems with Tinder?

Thanks waving yep they are bonkers, they don't know a good thing when it hits them between the eyes. He'll realise one day, but I think its too late now for me unless he does a 360, which I very much doubt because he needs a rocket up his arse to muster any enthusiasm at the best of times. My hearts not in it in the same way, I just can't be bothered with the fuckwittery.
Oooh good luck with MrChin, hope you get sorted on the babysitting issue. Keep us posted!
Glad its not just me then with Tinder, Bumble how ever is a flurry of activity, I have been messaging with a load of hotties, (all mainly 12 years younger than me, I blame Destiny for my new search settings Grin)

Waving you are absolutely right and I've discovered that is what I need too going forward.
Glad to hear non-dating life is going well, it's crucial to keep your mind occupied.

prizey sorry to hear about h&c, very similar to my experience of it too, it's really not worth the stress of trying to constantly overthink their actions and then the time you spend together you end up dreading being apart as you know he'll revert to form. Good luck with new irons.

waving good luck with the 2 chins!

Sorting there are nice people out there.

I've gone a bit bored with it all this week, only 2 weeks in!

I'm supposed to be seeing Mrfunny again after our first date Sunday, he's a bit crap at communication though and is on whatsapp loads so assuming lots of irons! Is messages are always a bit short and don't really encourage conversation, he was really fun Sunday though so will see!

I've got another new iron I really like! Been talking to him for about a week now, finally got him to exchange numbers and we've organised a date for next week, he texts lots but in a good way.

My ex (my hot & cold) is still on the scene and very much hot at the minute, I'm seeing him at weekend so he can explain in person why he ended things because of the kids, he's lovely when I'm not affected by his moods so hoping we can stay friends.

I've got a hen do this weekend which is taking up my child free days, I feel really bad as the 2 irons have both asked me out and it's 2 weeks until I can offer anything.

WavingNotDrowning If they both look similar they could be brothers Shock (I will laugh so hard if this turns out to be the case)

beebopped · 08/09/2016 16:40

No school for me today sorting

God forbid a woman wants a bit of casual sex hey! Hmm

If you search you'll also see I asked for some divorce advice on here yesterday.

God I HATE that you can't ask about sex on Mumsnet without being a weirdo/troll

beebopped · 08/09/2016 16:40

Also, thank you destinysdaughter - I will check it out Flowers

SortingStuffStill · 08/09/2016 16:51

Really, sorry Bee ! Blush Read it too fast and was trying to work at same time. Did wonder actually. And NO problem with grown woman asking! Flowers

NoBloodyMore · 08/09/2016 16:55

I'd suggest FAB or Plenty Of Fish, I've had many offers of causal from gorgeous men, I deleted my FAB after a day as it wasn't for me!

PrizeyPrize · 08/09/2016 16:56

Bee no judging on my part, who doesn't love a bit of casual sex!? Go for it and don't feel you can't talk about that stuff on here, we applaud the casual sex enjoyer

PrizeyPrize · 08/09/2016 17:54

Oh god I'm about to be asked out on a date by a lovely tall chef guy who is 14 years my junior 😱. I feel bad on H&C...I feel like I'm cheating (I am the most loyal person in relationships) I'm racked with guilt. This is fair game....isn't it? H&C is going on holiday with his player guy-mate next week so no doubt he'll be having fun anyway. Ease my guilt people. Shit.. chef has just messaged.... He's changing his shift at work to fit in a date with me....bless him ☺️

OP posts:
Destinysdaughter · 08/09/2016 18:14

Prizey you're not cheating, it's just how OLD works and if you're not getting your needs met you need to move on.

Sorry about leading some of you astray! not really

You only live once and as Recyled said, life's too short for bad sex!

I'm also too old to care these days. If I can't have a serious relationship at least I'm going to have some fun...😈

Destinysdaughter · 08/09/2016 18:17

Also, loving my new job. Dating seems much less important when you've got one area of your life sorted. I'm so tired tho, think I'll be in bed at 9 tonight. ( and need to get some energy for MrPosh tomorrow...) 😀💃🍷

PrizeyPrize · 08/09/2016 18:28

destiny you have your head screwed right on with this malarkey. Absolutely right, needs not met...he ignored my facetimes calls twice last night, didn't call me back, and then wanted to sext even though he knew I'd had a shit day (sent a couple of lengthy texts of support and encouragement to be fair to him but even still it's just not right)
Onwards and upwards....come to me Mr14 years younger!!
Great news about the job too Destiny....Mr Posh is a lucky guy!
