Hello, tis me, Mouse

Welcome to the Bus. It's a Bus full of drinkers, non-drinkers, occasional slurpers, sneaky sippers, we're all a very different bunch but we ALL have the same thing in common.

Alcohol.

We all have a story or two to tell, we have all been through some terrible times, some more than others and we all have our reasons for drinking or even not. Smile

The one true wonderful thing about this Bus is that we don't do judging!! We're all on a even playing field, no matter what has brought us to this thread.

So, if you'd like to talk, then talk. If you want to lurk and see how we work for a while, that's cool too :)

The Bus is never full, there's always is room for YOU.

And, if you'd like to see what started this off, amost good 5 years ago now, have a look at A TRULY AWESOME HEARTFELT THEAD HERE

And our last thread is just here too for those who would like some more history THIS IS WHERE WE'VE JUST BEEN

Hope to see you soon :) xxx

Congratulations Small. You are an inspiration. Fingers crossed, Sweet. I've lit a dhoop stick for puss.

Rubyredlips · 10/04/2015 15:21

Sweet sorry to hear about Puss, keep us informed. Poor little thing.

Hope enjoy your run and try not to think about the arsehole at work.

Khalisi didn't know you had a new fella. Enjoy your uncomplicated fun with him.

Both dc are exhausted as am I , we'll be home again tomorrow. Yipee

SweetLathyrus · 10/04/2015 15:57

Ruby, I am imagining you clicking the heels of your 'ruby slippers' together chanting, "There's no place like home, there's no place like home'

Thank you, and Fevvers, Puss has been 'investigated' and all of her internal organs are as they should be, but she has enlarged lymph glands which have been biopsied, and will be with the emergency vet overnight on iv antibiotics and pain relief.

Bloody animals, this is why my DF kept saying don't get any, they'll break your heart.

SweetLathyrus · 10/04/2015 15:58

" Khalisi and Builder sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G"

SweetLathyrus · 10/04/2015 17:22

At last, I know the difference between ginger beer and ginger ale - I like ginger beer; I DON"T like ginger ale!

dementedma · 10/04/2015 18:50

sweet hope Puss ok.
We have been out today. That is officially the last "family" day out I am ever doing if that miserable WB comes too!
Fun sucker!

Rubyredlips · 10/04/2015 19:56

Fingers crossed for Puss Sweet. My df would never let us have a cat or dog because he was so upset aged 11 when his red setter died Confused. That is not a reason to not have a pet they bringsuch joy.

Ma sorry your day out was crap. He truly is a WB. Has he always been like that? I assume not.

SweetLathyrus · 10/04/2015 21:37

Ma my Ex was like that. He could suck the joy from any situation - and did so to too many Xmases, birthdays and day trips before I said enough is enough.

You need more practice with the slippers, RUby.

Puss is brighter but staying with the emergency vet over night (bloody hell, the bill is a sight to behold already). But she and Pup touched noses through the carrier, and she has the sweetest green bandage with pictures of sheep on her leg!

lookingforhope · 10/04/2015 21:38

What did he do Ma ? Did you not manage to shove him off the battlements then?

dementedma · 10/04/2015 21:53

hope he wouldn't even climb up the stairs in the castle because his knee was sore. He wouldn't picnic on the beach with us and sat in the car on his own listening to the radio. He had a face like a skelped bahookie when we had ice cream because he couldn't have any. He made it quite clear the whole day was boring shit and then had his crap music on in the car all the way home so everyone had to listen to it whether they wanted to or not. He needs a fucking good kick in the balls.

lookingforhope · 10/04/2015 23:09

I'll kick him for you Ma. I have a lot of pent up aggression and your post strikes a chord. Every day out we had en famille began with ranty swearing if we encountered traffic and ended with martyred sanctimony when the vegetarian options at the pub meal on the way home (which I invariably paid for) were not up to scratch. Bah! Am going with Khalisi's view now that we are a valid family unit just me and the dcs and arranging our days out accordingly. In the sidecar tonight, but just the 2 (large Blush) glasses of red. Still seething about work but on official AL next week and determined to enjoy.

Sweet hope puss is Ok darling.

Night you gorgeous lot xxx

Mouseface · 10/04/2015 23:29

Evening, tis me, Mouse

Sleep? Nope!

Joey - THANK YOU x 1,000,000. I've twigged why I'm not sleeping again, the Jeffin' menopause! Oh how I hate it. I too even thought about getting pissed off my face just to get some sleep! I have begged and begged 'The Powers That Be' for some sleep.... the meditation/sleep music/guided or otherwise has stopped working. I can't cope with this for much longer.......

Are you getting a regular cycle because I was having maybe 2 periods a year for the last 3 or so??? I hate womanhood at times xxx

SMALL - THERE AIN'T NOWT SMALL ABOUT 100 DAYS!!! (see what I did there? Such fun! Grin )

You really are a super, super, super Star getting to an entire 100 DRY DAYS!!!

Morning.

I had a glass of wine last night Blush. One small glass and this morning I feel like shite - lesson learned (again).

Ma, Hope you both need to detach from these wankers - but since Mouse sat on and dispatched yours, Ma only one to go.

Mouse, I hope you got your sleep.

Just had a call from the vet. Puss is bright and playful and being discharged, if I had a tail, I would wag it.

Rubyredlips · 11/04/2015 07:58

Hurrah for Puss.

I have 2 poorly dc now, both with temperatures, pale faces and coughs. Both sat on my knee Confused

SweetLathyrus · 11/04/2015 08:53

Oh Ruby what a rubbish start to the weekend. But I good excuse for a film marathon?

lookingforhope · 11/04/2015 10:05

Yes definitely film marathon Ruby Smile. I am taking dd to gymnastics and then ds to airport later. Arsey as teenage boys can be, he is mostly lovely and I will miss him Sad

DippyDooDahDay · 11/04/2015 10:18

Hi can I jump on and ask if anyone else has tried Nalmefene/Selincro as a prescribed medication to make you not want to drink beyond a drink? I have tried all different approaches, but took first one of these last night. I'm asking/ looking for reassurance... I can tell I have taken a mind altering drug...feel floaty, had weird non sleep sleep, kept needing to stretch out, feel like am coming up and down on drugs all at the same time...edgy and disconnected. Don't want a drink but that's because I feel so utterly bizarre!?! Any thoughts?

babyjane1 · 11/04/2015 11:03

Hi babes, I'm literally just popping on to say hi, been so busy with the girls I've not had a chance to keep up.

Will check in later properly but surviving the holidays and enjoying the sunshine and being sober xxx

SweetLathyrus · 11/04/2015 11:09

Dippy, Welcome to the bus. I've never heard anyone on the bus mention they were taking it, so I only know what I have heard about it on the radio - where I heard mostly good things, but never anything about side effects. I would go back to your GP on Monday to check; it might be like some ADs, that make you feel trippy until your body gets accustomed to them?

Hi Baby, keep on enjoying it Smile

Rubyredlips · 11/04/2015 12:13

Film marathon sounds good. Is Puss home Sweet?

Hope hope DS gets away ok.

Dippy sorry I don't have any exp of that medication maybe phone out of hours doc and get some advice?

NoAprilFool · 11/04/2015 12:28

I'm sorry I've not checked in for a few days. Things at home and work have both been manic. I'm still AF though! Today is day 11 and a real challenge coming up. Lunch with friends...

sweet, so glad to hear about Puss. And Pup is gorgeous, thanks for sharing a photo.

ma, what a dickwad. He sounds like a Dementor sucking the joy from life. Well done on tackling the neighbours about the roof though. We had a roof nightmare in our previous flat, so I can really empathise.

dippy, lavendar and vs, welcome fellow newbies!

ruby, sorry the bairns are ill. And bah to the teenagers earlier this week. I'm another, slightly, older Mum. I'm almost 39 with a 1 year old.

smallfox, what can I say? Wooooohooooooo! Hope you're having a lovely holiday.

hope, enjoy your holiday too. To hell with work.

mouse, I really hope you get some sleep tonight. Sleep deprivation is (literally) a killer.

Whew, thinks that's me caught up. Apologies if I've missed anyone. Hugs to all who need them!

aliasjoey · 11/04/2015 16:31

Hello babes how are you all doing? ma you killed your DH yet?

aliasjoey · 11/04/2015 16:43

khalisi I believe the newer HRT is safer...but thank you for asking the question because it made me think about what I wanted. I can accept a risk of cancer but I don't want to be trying different drugs for months and not feeling better. The hot flushes aren't too bad, but I can't bear the insomnia. Sadly, I am now drinking again Sad

SweetLathyrus · 11/04/2015 16:46

Ruby, Puss is home, a bit pissed off to be confined to the guest room, but amazingly bright for a small cat with stitches most of the length of her stomach.

Khalisi · 11/04/2015 19:03

Good evening, my Darling Babes!

Feeling so very tired. Been cleaning the old chicken shed today, getting ready to continue renovations.

Happy to hear that, alias. Last month I had hot flushes like hell. And I didn't get my period. I now have it as if nothing happened. Don't know if I'm just tired right now but am having a rather hot face again.

sweet! Firstly happy to hear that Puss is coming home (or is at home already?).
Well, last night was lovely. The host got pissed and all the the food on the grill was soo dry! But to be fair he did make a lot of effort with the side dishes, so no complains there.
Seeing the couple properly pissed sort of took the fun out of drinking. OMG. Blush
