Hello, tis me, Mouse

Welcome to the Bus. It's a Bus full of drinkers, non-drinkers, occasional slurpers, sneaky sippers, we're all a very different bunch but we ALL have the same thing in common.

Alcohol.

We all have a story or two to tell, we have all been through some terrible times, some more than others and we all have our reasons for drinking or even not. Smile

The one true wonderful thing about this Bus is that we don't do judging!! We're all on a even playing field, no matter what has brought us to this thread.

So, if you'd like to talk, then talk. If you want to lurk and see how we work for a while, that's cool too :)

The Bus is never full, there's always is room for YOU.

And, if you'd like to see what started this off, amost good 5 years ago now, have a look at A TRULY AWESOME HEARTFELT THEAD HERE

And our last thread is just here too for those who would like some more history THIS IS WHERE WE'VE JUST BEEN

Hope to see you soon :) xxx

You ok, Turn? Can't really interpret that noise but it doesn't sound great! Talk to us, how are you, what you up to?

Sorry, not read back beyond that but hugs to all of you on days 1, 2, 3 etc - these are tough days and you are doing brilliantly. Wobbles are normal - but hang in there xx

I've managed to get past 5pm but I'm struggling now. Doesn't help that I'm low carbing before my holiday to lose some weight.

Baby welcome back sweetie. How are you doing? Had a hard week? (tucks Baby up with a pillow and blankets and hands her a hot chocolate). We will look after you xxx Flowers

Well done all day 1, 2, 3 babes. Day 8 here. I like the new alcohol app chart someone posted up thread (Faire ????). Although no plans to drink at the moment, it isn't a counter so if you have one glass you register it but you aren't back on day 1 IYSWIM. Non drinking squares are green, one drink is pale yellow, loads of drinks is red. So if you just have a yellow square in a sea of green goodness, not so bad, and it doesn't feel like you have blown it. I tend to give up when I have one bad day and have a real binge, but if I have to record a lost weekend of red squares (and hidden empties, and hangovers), I can't just write it off and start again at day 1. That's my theory for now anyway. But at the moment I am coasting on a sea of green smugness. Despite horrid work situation

Racking brain to think what the two year anniversary is ??? Don't think I was here quite that long ago but dying to find out Ma.

Going back to do more work now (after taking ds to a race and coming home, collecting dd from guides etc, etc, - my life is on a bloody loop!) This freelancing lark is HARD.

Hands bad luck on the nits. Dd had them a lot in primary and her hair is waist length and curly, so imagine how much fun that was Angry. I found Hedrin Once the only thing that shifted them. Expensive, but quickest and easiest.

Turn - I too am a low-carber. At least I aspire to be. Though today had toast for breakfast, no lunch, jacket potato for tea and popcorn for a snack Blush. My excuse was that I was writing all day and didn't have time for proper food or exercise. Shall we do it together tomorrow? Come and sit with me and we can eat boiled eggs instead of chocolate ones Hmm

Sorry not to namecheck all but will be back tomorrow when my deadline is done xxx

Evening brave babes. Mouse you have a lovely family and your daughter is stunning! How old is she?
Thanks for the mention April I've struggled this evening but have day 3 in the bag now.
Hands You have my sympathy, the last 12 years of my life seem to have been one epic battle with nits.
Turn Hope you're hanging in there.
Night everyone x

looking I have to meal plan like a crazy woman when I'm low carbing or I'd never stick to it, so tomorrow is,
Bacon, poached egg, roasted tomatoes
Chicken and avocado salad
Salmon with wilted greens and garlic butter, and a tomato salad.
Miso soup if I'm desperate!
Andy I am, just. Well done on your day three!

Good morning, darling Babes!

Last page! I get a strange buzz whenever that happens!

Mouse yoohoo! Grin Just continue being careful, my furry friend.

Where is Sweet?! Silence is not golden, babes. Hope you're hanging in there. Miss you.

Turn Unbelievably, but I got to day 3. Honestly didn't think I'll manage.

Hope I love the idea of the spots. What is the app called? I find it very demoralising when all the effort of a week are lost because after a glass I feel like such a failure and why the hell not a bottle than, anyway. You know?

Later,
xxx

Sorry didn't mean to post that Blush Hope you're all ok today girls. I bet your arm feels so much better without the cast Mouse! Turn don't be too hard on yourself re the low carbing. The most important thing is that you're not drinking. I'm stuffing my face with haribo tangfastics every evening (my dentist will love me Sad) just to take the edge off my cravings to drink. I hope that when I'm used to being AF I can start to concentrate on the diet! xx

Khalisi I know exactly what you mean, that is why that app works better for me. A bit like My Fitness Pal, if I have to record every drink it helps me moderate, whereas a countdown app, when you have one glass it's back to day zero and I think, well, the weekend is near, I am fed up.... can start again Monday... and then before you know it I'm sneaking miniature wine bottles into the bin which I've bought to supplement my intake so it looks like I've 'only' had three bottles from Friday to Monday Blush

Here is the app anyway. play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oristats.stopdrinking&hl=en

And I made a mistake yesterday, when I said Day 8. I am now actually on Day 10!!!! But don't really want to give up totally. I rarely go out socially at the moment and still want to have a glass of wine with a meal when I do, so for now the rule is NO DRINKING AT HOME (unless I have a party) and NO DRINKING ALONE. Nailing it.

Hoping to go for a run once I finish this writing project, so going to crack on with it now

Waves to all the babes, especially Mouse hoping to get a wave back from the newly-liberated, cast-free hand Grin

Wonder how much booze I've sunk in that time......:-(
