Finding it so hard to move on after husband has left....

Hobbitwife001 · 11/12/2014 23:34

My husband of 27 years left two months ago to have a relationship with a woman I considered to be a friend, and I just can't seem to get over the pain of his betrayal.
It fills my every waking moment and I sometimes dream about it as well, that's when I get to sleep that is. I can't stand to feel this way and have started having counselling to,try and fix myself, I just feel damaged by his lies and deceit and can't find my way back to my old self. Please help lovely mumsnetters x

Izzie/Hobbit George Clooney!!! That made me laugh, thank you. Think short, skinny, unkempt grey hair. George Clooney he is not! But he does do charm in bucketloads He doesn't do Waitrose so I think you are safe, but he used to be in farming so beware men on tractors!

Izzie595 · 21/01/2015 21:02

Green, lots of TV....well let me know if you find anything worth watching, apart from Broadchurch!!!

Izzie595 · 21/01/2015 21:07

Iwas, I just KNEW he was skinny!!

Be back later, got to collect son. From supermarket. Justf putting on killer heels and bright red lipppy.......

Izzie595 · 21/01/2015 21:08

Erm, I may have known he was skinny, but don't come after me.......

Hobbitwife001 · 21/01/2015 21:09

Hi Green, so good to hear that you are feeling more positive, I think we all need someone to tell us it's ok not to beat ourselves up for not coping as well as we would want to, of course you are struggling, who wouldn't?

A double, if not triple whammy, has unfortunately come your way, and you would be superhuman if you were not absolutely knocked sideways by your situation. You are a strong lady, your have your children's love and support, you have our love and support, just forget about the financials for now and concentrate on looking after yourself and regaining your health.

You must come first at the moment, rest and recuperate after your procedure, try and eat well and sleep well. Thinking of you, x

Good to see that everyone's having better days - pretty quiet here in the Strong household due to a nasty sickness bug which means both DD and DS are tucked up in bed.

Green - glad to hear that you are feeling better - as Hobbit says you are amazing dealing with everything xx

Hobbitwife001 · 21/01/2015 21:27

Hey WWK, maybe you could get a job as a professional cocktail bar lady who lunches? That sounds perfect for me actually, I like cocktails and lunches any way, just not very professional though :(
I don't think I could do the professional lady for 'sale' either, I think I'd have to pay them! WWK, you are a very lovely and intelligent lady who will soon find excellent employment, and be a successful author on the side of course.
But then you won't have time for laughs and giggles on MN, what will we do without you? Sob! :(
I am in a very strange mood today, I must admit, haven't even been drinking either, I blame Izzie, gotta blame someone, xx

If you can forgive my swearing...here am I am, at your service!

How are you doing Hobbit?

Drifting, I didn't sleep until just before Christmas, so I think that was about 7 months or so. In the end, I resorted to hypnotherapy, which worked for me. However, I didn't try any prescribed medicine, or over the counter medicines. Again, looking back, I regret this. I think it was Loriens earlier in the thread who mentioned Piriton - which is available over the counter and non-addictive.

Strong, I guess for you it's one of those times you say out-loud "It never rains, it pours". Hope everyone recovers quickly.

Hobbitwife001 · 21/01/2015 21:37

Oi, Izzie, step away from the ready meals for one, I saw him first!
You and your killer heels and red lippy!
I raise you your red heels and killer lippy, and bet my dominatrix boots and retainer! God, I'm so strange, I need help, :)

Calm down Hobbit! Look, what wrong with a skinny man capable of handling a tractor?? You can ask about his helmet!

You won't find ME down the ready meals for one aisle, not if I'm on the pull. I need someone to cook for me. Anyway, these ready meals are a farce, you still have to heat them in the oven. That's cooking in my book. I once cooked a lasagne ready meal for my H, he was working really late nights. He then asked if he could have some bread and butter with it. Bloody hell, I thought, you're pushing your luck! AND I made him dish it up Grin I bet he's missing me!

A career on my back. Oh I will be fine with a bag on my head. Or his. We all have our price. Apart from Barry Manilow. 5 million and I'm still wincing. Where does one buy dominatrix boots? Just off to google retainer.

Iwas, does he have a moustache? I imagine him with one.

iwashappy · 21/01/2015 22:14

Hobbit/Izzie you are making me laugh! We've got a pair of dominatrix boots somewhere Izzie!!! (seriously!) Couldn't find anything dodgy on google for retainer, do tell Hobbit.

My husband liked the OW in boots so you might be in with a chance if you're wearing them down the ready meal section!

Izzie no he doesn't have a moustache or beard, he does have sideburns though!

iwashappy · 21/01/2015 22:17

Talking of googling dodgy things did anyone see the thread the other day about a blow up doll. I had to google fleshlight - I dare you!

Izzie595 · 21/01/2015 22:17

If you remember, the waitress in a cocktail bar did rather well for herself. Nice warm furry coat too.

Hobbit. I have googled retainers and am very puzzled. Wondering if I'm missing the point or I've led a sheltered upbringing. Does one buy them in Tesco? Clearly I won't bother asking you about Waitrose......

Izzie595 · 21/01/2015 22:23

Iwas Ooh sideburns. Have you ever seen that programme "take me out"? Well, I've just switched off my light.....

Ooh no didn't see that thread. I may have a google, seeing as how I've digested my meal....Did you ever read the penis beaker thread? That is hillarious

Hobbitwife001 · 21/01/2015 22:23

Off now to watch 'Wolf Hall', I love Damian Lewis, surely the hottest ginger on the planet, and a very good actor to boot.
I am good today, WWK, thank you for asking, if a little hyper, but just watch this space, one rogue email from fuckface and that could change in an instant.
But as my old mum used to say, 'these things are sent to try us' and he is a very trying thing indeed, trying not to face up to his responsibilities. Good night ladies and gentleman, hobbit is leaving the (building) thread. Xx

iwashappy · 21/01/2015 22:30

Good to see you still have your humour Hobbit, they are very trying! Sleep well x

Izzie595 · 21/01/2015 22:32

Iwas,!!!!!!erm, yours?? Grin

Oh I have definitely led a sheltered life!

iwashappy · 21/01/2015 22:33

Izzie no I have not seen "take me out". You have to google fleshlight (with pictures)! I've not read the penis beaker thread but read lots about it, I should have a look sometime, is it in classics?

Hobbitwife001 · 21/01/2015 22:34

Dear Izzie, (and Iwas ), a retainer is NOT a piece of sexual equipment , how very dare you! It is a dental device for keeping stray teeth in line, very above board and nothing like a fleshlight, (yes, I did read that thread Iwas , and googled it, I now need some brain bleach to get rid of that image).
Sideburns! Is he from the seventies? Give you something to hang on to I suppose, I'm leaving now, you ladies are very naughty. Xx

OP posts:
Izzie595 · 21/01/2015 22:36

Hobbit, iwas I'm crying with laughter.

iwashappy · 21/01/2015 22:36

No definitely not mine!!! Me too!

iwashappy · 21/01/2015 22:44

Hobbit thank you for clarifying, at least I don't have to google again! I think it would take a lot of brain bleach to get rid of those images, can still see them now yuk!!!

He looks likes he should still be in the seventies, he gets quite a bit of stick from some of his mates!

Izzie yes, this thread is good therapy sometimes.

Izzie595 · 21/01/2015 22:45

Iwas classics yes. I just googled mumsnet penis beaker

If they are not yours.....the mind boggles hahahahahahahahhahahaha .is he a bit like gary glitter? Sideburns, boots.....not a paedo tho. Oh please don't tell me he has a sparkly catsuit.....

Take me out, youtube it. This is what comes on late at night when too tired to go to bed....

iwashappy · 21/01/2015 22:57

Will have a look when I get a minute.

Oh god no, they're not his!!! He did a garage clearance and they were in there and we didn't know what to do with them so kept them. If he was anything like Gary Glitter I would have kicked him out years ago!! Definitely no sparkly catsuits.

Izzie595 · 21/01/2015 23:04

Thank god for that! Well I'm off to check your thread, then off to bed. I've done absolutely nothing tonight. What a tonic! I will be laughing at this tomorrow xx catch you later xx
