Quick! Is there some kind of protocol for staying at new bloke's house when menstruating.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever posted. Confused

I've been dating a guy for a few months. I've stayed at his before. We're going to dinner tonight and I'd like to drink & have more time together so I'd have to stay at his.

Thing is I'm on. Do I just say "I'll stay but I'm not shagging you", or would the proper thing to do be to just drive home?

I'm so shit at dating!!!

Perhaps one of those special hair washing sinks you get in hairdressers

Instead of putting your neck on the ledge jobby, you rest your arse on it ?

itsbetterthanabox · 13/05/2014 09:48

If he doesn't want you to stay over because you don't want sex then don't ever have sex with him!
Tell him your on but he might not mind and wanna do it anyway. Or just don't have sex.

CabinetSauvinyoni · 13/05/2014 09:54

This thread has had me crying all morning!! Grin

Please, please tell me there are some more period related catch phrases I can whip out to shock DP who must still be a teenager because he gets uncomfortable at any mention of such things ?

< gets out notebook and looks expectantly >

meditrina · 13/05/2014 10:03

Period phrases?

How about 'fallen off my bike' = that time with the cycle.

Seriously, if you have horrible cramps periods, good sex really alleviates symptoms.

murphys · 13/05/2014 10:15

holdyourown

It may be harder to get the timing right if you're out for a dinner admittedly, perhaps not just as he's about to tuck into his steak

I am STILL laughing at this........

murphys · 13/05/2014 10:17

Anyfucker

Now do I need to explain doggy style

Grin
AnyFucker · 13/05/2014 10:27

murphys, no you do not need to explain doggy style

but if doing it bending over a sink is supposed to protect the waffle pedestal mat from a Dolmio saucing, I don't see the mechanism

your arse would have to be over the sink, surely, for the drips/splodges/escape of clottage ? (or is that just me...I have been having some issues recently...)

CabinetSauvinyoni · 13/05/2014 10:38

Maybe the sink is purely for bathroom loving convenience and close proximity to the shower, rather than as a protective measure per se? Confused

Although the image of DP precariously balanced behind the taps is absolutely priceless!

AnyFucker · 13/05/2014 10:43

Oh, I dunno < cross >

murphys · 13/05/2014 10:46

We may need to clarify with SJC and where she places her arse during blow job season. Grin.

murphys · 13/05/2014 10:49

Maybe she meant it was the bidet Wink. There's the spouting water and all - yes this is surely what she meant....

OP, has he got a bidet??

AnyFucker · 13/05/2014 11:59
Grin
MultipleMama · 13/05/2014 13:50

EduardoBarcelona - We're not done making babies, so no coil, and I don't want anything f**king up my hormones anyway haha.

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 13/05/2014 13:53

I wouldn't say anything and then, post sex, be all 'what dd you do to me!!'.

Grin Grin Grin

I'm so using this if i ever get a man to sleep with me

MultipleMama · 13/05/2014 13:54

AF, it must be a reasonably sized sink to catch the leakage! I imagine it would have "butt width" size Grin

CabinetSauvinyoni · 13/05/2014 14:02

Eduardo I have a coil, but hormones turn me into She Hulk don't agree with me, so I have a copper one. Doesn't help much on the period front!

I'm trying to picture the bidet, are we talking a leaning forward straddled over the top of it affair with water firing at your fanjo to keep everything clean?

laregina · 13/05/2014 14:04

One up the bum, no harm done.

elQuintoConyo · 13/05/2014 14:16

laregina ^^ Grin Grin

It's Vampire Weekend in our house, my periods don't last longer than three days.

Not a fan of period sex, too squeamish Blush

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 13/05/2014 14:29

I'll never view the 'when's your Dolmio day?' Advert with the creepy Italian puppets the same way again

Me either!! Grin

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 13/05/2014 14:29

Also need the sink sex explained Confused

SJC2014 · 13/05/2014 16:24

Sink lady here!!!
So... You put the shower on.. We have an en suite so the room gets nice and steamy we either get In the shower and do the deed or we start with me bent over (holding on to the sink) THEN jump right in the shower to wash away dolmio day.. ( he won't even have a chance to see his red rod.. Or you can combine the two.. Make periods a happy time with bathroom fun! :)

croquet · 13/05/2014 16:44

Wow - I'm impressed. We might have done that when first together, but not now.

PoundingTheStreets · 13/05/2014 16:49

Just tell him you're menstruating and ask him if he has a preference to do it or not do it while you are (or voice yours). If you can't talk about that after a few months dating and when you've already had sex, I'd be a bit worried TBH.

However, in my case (and a quick google reveals this to be typical) it is quite normal for arousal to temporarily stem the flow of blood quite substantially anyway, so although there obviously will be some mess, it won't be quite the carnage you envisage. Place a towel underneath you if you're worried about the mattress.

Have fun. Wink

FTS123 · 13/05/2014 17:16

I bloody love mumsnet GrinGrinGrin

LividofLondon · 13/05/2014 17:27

My style is just to say "I'm having my period but still up for a damn good seeing to if you are" Grin If he's really adverse to blood then he might not want sex (hmmmph!), but if he's into you he won't want to not see you. Just take an old towel with you to put under your bum to save his bedding. That's what I would do.
