Welcome to all daters :)

OP posts:
dontcallmehon22 · 19/03/2014 15:00

Although my headline is 'paris is overated' and talldarkhaired guy said it is a beautiful city, just like myself. Erm. I'm not a city and pass me the sick bucket.

FolkGirl · 19/03/2014 15:54

What sort of cheese dont? I'll tolerate a baked Camembert in bed, but nothing more...

Hormonalhell · 19/03/2014 16:04

Cheese strings forgivable too Grin

dontcallmehon22 · 19/03/2014 16:10

Cheddar slices. Unforgivable.

Hormonalhell · 19/03/2014 16:20

Yup very cheesy Don't Wink

FolkGirl · 19/03/2014 16:41

Cheddar slices? Ugh, no.

Wink
Blossomflowers · 19/03/2014 16:43

You are all mad. So what do you guys think about dating someone, 10 years younger, I look very good for my age but hell, he is 37.

HelloBoys · 19/03/2014 16:49

Blossom go for it - what's 10 years?! Grin

dont - men often do anything to have sex including saying they love you.

Kent Lad said he could have emotionless sex and actually (because I got mad at him) he put me off meeting up for ex-sex. probably because he knew I'd either be hard work or not worth the while re my crazy cakes - his words.

also - men and women are often cruel, fact of life. I don't always think it's personal either.

FolkGirl · 19/03/2014 16:50

I wouldn't. 10 years younger than me would be 29. I don't think I'd even fancy someone that much younger.

Then again, I thought I was pretty crazy when I dated a man who was 35 for a few weeks several months ago.

I just have a real mental block when it comes to younger men. I struggle to imagine anyone would find me attractive, let alone someone younger than me!

But then, I am not you... You should probably just go for it, Blossom Smile

BeforeAndAfter · 19/03/2014 16:56

Blossom, we're the same age and I would Grin. 8 years younger is the max I've done and he was lush. An NSA find and quite delightful. He'd even pop in on his way to work Wink.

My usual MO is about 10 years older. Not sure why. But now I'm very nearly 48, the chaps are getting towards 'falling apart' territory, except for my divine ex of six days who I'm badly pining for today.

lucyintheskywithdinos · 19/03/2014 17:02

I'm about to turn 30, so I only go 5 years younger at most. Even then they have to really stand out. I'm happy with up to 10 years older though. In 10 years time I will be happily shacked up with a really hot guitarist I would totally go 10 years younger.

My list...skinny, long hair a big plus as are tats, preferably no kids, has a passion for something (job, hobby, summat that they love to do), veggie or vegan gets big bonus points. I think my only deal breaker on the list is that they must read, I couldn't date someone who doesn't read a lot.

Blossomflowers · 19/03/2014 17:59

Well Mr SA was 7 years younger, I seem to be drawn to younger men because it seems most my age and older, well just look old. Woman have many tricks suppose. Oh god I sound so shallow now

Blossomflowers · 19/03/2014 18:13

Oh and just seen Mr SA online @ POF, safe to say he is just not into me, move on. Has time to go on the mobile @ work and check messages but not enough time to text me. There's my answer.

HelloBoys · 19/03/2014 18:55

Blossom - I used to be drawn to men my age or slightly older. I'd have to say 45 is my max (but I'm 42 and get told I look 10 years younger).

MrSA's loss I think.

HelloBoys · 19/03/2014 18:57

Apologies for me ignoring anything before not on purpose!

What dating sites are which? Is POF same as Plenty of Fish?

Not sure I fancy Tinder. sounds a bit techy and I can barely work my iPhone Grin.

Done briefly in past GSM (nope), Lovestruck, Doing Something, Match Crapfinity (no thanks!)

Any other ideas? Must be mad but otherwise when I get a new cat/kitten soon if I don't get my skates on I'll be mad lonely old cat woman already am

HelloBoys · 19/03/2014 18:59

PS and pssst dontcall - I'll try OLD if you will which you are.

an old saying has to sprung to mind 'you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you meet your prince (pass the sick bucket!)' but I think that is very apt re OLD.

HelloBoys · 19/03/2014 19:02

ps Folk and Jarlin I have been keeping up with you both and respective relationships...

been trying to keep myself busy and (because they're saved at work in saved searches and quite easy to find anyway) not browsing Kent Tosser sorry "Lad".

folk - how is the therapy going? from what I can see here though it's baby steps and you feel you have setbacks you seem to me to be getting better. what do you think about it? I'm a great advocate of therapy if/when one needs it.

Blossomflowers · 19/03/2014 19:06

helloYes I think it is his loss, I think he might be a little overwhlemed by me. I was happy to have him as fwb, but can easily find one of those, whilst I search for the one.

POF is Plenty of fish, I like it the best and free

HelloBoys · 19/03/2014 19:12

Blossom of course it's his loss. That's the one thing I think about Kent Lad - I was way out of his league looks and personality (different, classier) wise. On one of our weekends away we went to McD's. I was Shock at that but he didn't mind and when you like someone you don't care so much. I should've done!

I had thought there was a difference between POF and Plenty of Fish? obviously not. I don't mind... Smile

Blossomflowers · 19/03/2014 19:20

There is Plenty more fish but paid, it is ok actually. I don't care if he wants to see other people I do but just would like him to be honest not pretend he really likes me but has little time. Every time I go on there today he face just smiling at me Feel like sending him a message ha ha

Blossomflowers · 19/03/2014 20:40

Oh my god hve just arranged to meet a guy I am been chatting to,so off the cuff I love it Update later

dontcallmehon22 · 19/03/2014 20:49

Right Hello it's a deal -we'll both get back into OLD. The trauma of geeky will fade. And I will be a total ice queen. NO man will ever do that to me again.

dontcallmehon22 · 19/03/2014 20:50

Ooh have fun, blossom

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 19/03/2014 21:32

Have a great time Blossom! Is this the one who's 10 years younger? I love younger men Grin. Like you I find men my age (41) and older look really old and/or have an 'old' attitude. I look younger than my age, work in a 'young' industry and have a youthful attitude. MCS is 7 years younger than me and the youngest man I've shagged dated is Mr Teacher who's 9.5 years younger.

Speaking of MCS I've had a short, crap text from him tonight after not hearing from him since Saturday. A good male friend of mine advises not to reply yet - to wait a good few hours, if not until tomorrow - then make it short and don't engage him in text conversation or ask any questions. I think he's right - I need to put in what I get out and MCS needs to get out what he puts in.

Been on POF chatting to a decent sounding bloke the last few days, he hasn't mentioned meeting up yet but if he does I think I'll go.

dontcallmehon22 · 19/03/2014 21:37

I'm 33 but my preferred age of man is 38/39. But hot looking. I'm incredibly fussy. I don't do younger.
