Toothache catches a quick 5 mins to let you all know....

....that H tried to strangle me and punched me repeatedly in the head on Tuesday night.... as I lay in bed.

He was arrested.... charged with Domestic Assault and has been bailed to his parents town 280 miles away. He'll be sentenced at the end of the month. Sad

We'd just had a lovely 2 week holiday too. He's never done anything like this before, but to be honest I could see him becoming more and more unstable and depressed for a while (as any MN'ers that 'know' me will know).

I'm at work using someone elses log in, my home email is STILL not working and I could really do with you guys of an evening.

Mum & Dad are helping me with the kids. I'm surpsrisingly calm and almost relieved. H has many problems and thankfully now because he finally snapped he will be forced to get the help he needs..... and his parents now will know all this too.

I don't hate him, I do still love him..... but he's gone and will not be moving back in anytime soon. After sentencing (probably a fine) he'll be in a flat of his own up here so he can carry on with his job and still see the kids as often as possible.

It was a real shock when it happened, but am I strange to feel relieved that it did?

Anyway, thats the situation.

Hope you are all doing wonderful. Smile I will try to get a minute to check if there are any Scottish meet-ups coming soon and will do my best to get there.

I MISS MN! Sad

Can you just go pick up an extension cord for the phone line to the PC?

LIZS · 08/06/2006 14:37

omg Toothy , I'm so sorry you are going through all this. You've come up a few times on MN as soemone missing and being concerned about. Hope you can find practical support and are able to become a regular visitor again soon.

Beetroot · 08/06/2006 14:38

beetroot beetroot at hotmail dot co dot uk.

Got to go now but will be home at 430

Toothache · 08/06/2006 14:38

Beety/SG - Its not the kit I need its the wire to be run from one side of the living room, up the stairs and into the spare room. I can't have the wire trailing up the stairs. My friends DH is a BT engineer and he was going to fit a proper socket into the spare room.... but they are abroad just now and don't even know about this yet.

I'll find a way.... I always do.... look at me at the moment! Wink

OMG Toothy. How awful. Glad things have come to a point where dh'll be forced to get help though and you some much needed refief. You've definitely been missed here.
Be kind to yourself. x

Toothache · 08/06/2006 14:39

Thanks you lot! Wish you were all in my house tonight!

What about your local library - do they have extended opening hours - get your parents to look after the children even just for an hour or so?

LotosEater · 08/06/2006 14:40

Toothache - you could get wireless broadband and you wouldn't need a phone cable

Northerner · 08/06/2006 14:41

Sad for you Toothy. What a horrible time for you all. You must get yourself back on MN - we miss you too!!!

SaintGeorge · 08/06/2006 14:41

Hmm, see what you mean. Can still be done with a kit and long line if you are willing to use lots of tiny cable grips along the edges. Mine is the same and I have managed to tuck it under the edge of the stair carpet.

If you have to wait too long for your friend, let me know and I will search out the cheapest kit for plug and long enough wire.

LadySherlockofLGJ · 08/06/2006 14:42

Toothy I have started a thread to see if you can get this sorted.

Just tell me again where you are roughly.

Avalon · 08/06/2006 14:43

Couldn't you move the computer, even temporarily?

Toothache · 08/06/2006 14:45

Lotoseater - Hadn't thought of that! But how much does that cost? Got to watch the pennies now I'm a single Mum!
My friends are being great which is helping.

I haven't even cried yet...not a whimper. I got up yesterday morning, checked my bruises out.... held my head high and got on with it. I took the kids to Nursery, got the train to work.

My choice is to either cope or not cope.... well I pretty used to coping.... so here I am.
I'm not even feeling particularly negative, just SO sure that this is going to make my life 100 times better..... whether we go our separate ways.... or whether in a few months time H is fit enough for us to start trying a bit.

you can get it really cheaply toothache even free (but don't go to carephone warehouse, their customer service is dire)

Toothache · 08/06/2006 14:47

Thanks LGJ!
I think I might just get an incredibly long extension cable and only run it up the stairs when the kids are sleeping.... that way it'll only be me that could potentially trip over it! I will get it sorted. Smile

Oh, Toothy Sad but hopeful Smile that this is the beginning of things being better.

Would wireless broadband be any good?

Esmummy · 08/06/2006 14:47

Bloody Hell Toothy :( Angry.
I was only asking after you a few days ago.

You wont recongised my name as i've changed but if you want to email me (somehow, i know your email isn't working but do you have a hotmail?) you can its [email protected].

How are DD and DS ? Has DS noticed Dad not being around ?
I just can't believe it, am totally [shocked]. I thought he was starting to get his angry issues sorted out too.

Thinking of you, if you can't email please try and post so we know you are alright x

LadySherlockofLGJ · 08/06/2006 14:48

I think there is about a £50 setup cost for wireless, and there after the same price as broadband, but I am open to correction.

nailpolish · 08/06/2006 14:49

toothy my FIL has the longest cable in the world, it runs the length of his entire house, and up his stairs (so they therefore come in v v long)

or you could get one of these wireless box things

(not much help sorry)

Blu · 08/06/2006 14:49

Wireless.

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 08/06/2006 14:49

OMG Toothache - I must have missed all this Sad

Glad you're OK - stay strong - sounds like you're doing great.

oliveoil · 08/06/2006 14:49

Toothy, long cable is the answer, I have a laptop at home which is rarely used but when it is, I have a spaghetti junction affair going on.

Do you need any practical support? Money? etc etc
