Hi, all!

Hope that you're all ok - would take too long to send individual messages!

mini - tx for the link; I am so shocked by the number of books on the horrible subject! Had absolutely no idea that they all existed!

jynier · 09/05/2013 02:45

Oh! My turn to be the only one on here tonight! Suppose it means that you're all in bed; not such a bad thing!

Dad seems to have disappeared from the thread!

BearsInMotion · 09/05/2013 06:09

Morning all! Arf at cafe's eyelashes, I would have done similar!

Glad you like the midwife kitty, my community midwife was ok, but I was high risk and saw a lot of the hospital midwives, who were amazing!

starsandunicorns · 09/05/2013 06:44

Now has a image of cafe walking on stage with pink sparky top and pink sparkyly hotpants with a defeint sawgger and hand wave...sitting on chair going hey girlfriend

Stars wonders if it that show where the doorbell rings n somebody comes through those doors

Well got to work ok. Just hoping that the home run is better than last night town will be gridlocked this morning as driving over bridge this morning southbound but northbound as at a stanstill at 7:15 sigh

Minimammoth · 09/05/2013 07:56

No stars it's cafe sashaying into theatre. Eyelashes aflutter. I dunno NHS services these days.
You are the goddess of Midwives midwife the archetypical midwife of midwifedom. All hale midwife. Grin

Minimammoth · 09/05/2013 08:00

Standstill not good stars. Hope you don't get too bored. My DH has gone to docs this morning to have his hemi goblins counted. ( cholesterol check) it made me laugh. Although having to fast has turned him into raving Bugblatter Beast.

themidwife · 09/05/2013 08:49

I now have an image of Cafe sashaying into theatre in her drag queen lashes & hot pants with me in my special Victorian undies bringing up the rear! The new NHS! GrinGrinGrin

themidwife · 09/05/2013 08:50

And thank you Mini - I do try (although I also get grumpy with the select few at times too!)

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 09/05/2013 09:04

hemi goblins Grin

Well I fell asleep last night at 9.30 again. Lovely Smile. slept till 3.45 then from 5-7 but I've woken with the same headache etc. Sad

cafe your eyelash story really made me laugh. It reminded me of when I was on my honeymoon in New York, wondering found Chelsea while my husband checked out a vinyl fair and I was jumped by a makeup lady who talked me into silver blue, glittery eyeshadow to make my eyes 'pop'. Well, she applied it thickly, right up to the eyebrow, I looked a fright but was too English to say so. Continued mooching round Chelsea and was chatted up by an Italian-American, muscle man in a vest who said I was just his type Hmm Blush

Themidwife, of course you are the midwife, she is just a midwife and means nothing to me Grin

By the way, she calculated the due date as Christmas Eve Sad Poor littlekittySad Poor tiny New baby tooSad I really should have thought this through.

Mrs, make me feel better please? Sad

Minimammoth · 09/05/2013 10:17

Kitty - having a baby at Xmas is lovely honestly! You could buy one of those babygrows with "My First Christmas" in newborn size! How sweet! Are you going for a home birth?

themidwife · 09/05/2013 21:28

Stars don't let the eBay bullies get to you!! 3 days to pay is reasonable!!

starsandunicorns · 09/05/2013 21:39

Thankyou midwife i thought so too Smile

Ohh Kitty a xmas mini kitty Grin

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 09/05/2013 21:58

Evening everyoneSmile

Harriet, littlekitty is a biter too Sad. She does it when she's over-tired or over excited. It's really painfulShock After, she says "ah-ah", signs "sorry", says "mama" and gives me a kiss Smile

Themidwife (the one and only) I'd love to have a home birth, I was born at home (with no phone in the houseShock ). unfortunately I had severe pre-eclampsia last time and very nearly had a stroke. They were prepping me for an epidural to bring down my blood pressure but I didn't want one so I gave an almighty push and out she popped Grin

I doubt I'd be a candidate for a homebirth Sad

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 09/05/2013 22:03

Stars, I approve of your daughter's Dockers Grin. Which colour? I had a black pair and a purple pair, my brother had cherry ones.

I must hunt them out actually, they are 22 years old so I suppose that makes them vintage Grin They'll be at my parents house somewhere......

cafecito · 09/05/2013 22:28

I am so relieved I removed the scary eyelashes

I had a really cool day which compensated for yesterday's general awfulness. Met some scarily influential people and got harangued by journalists but refused to help them cos I am mean Hmm Smile it made me realise the niche I am in is one I'm pretty comfortable in. Made me want to actually go home and write that article I was asked to before Christmas Shock (haven't, of course, have scoffed flapjacks and listened to funny songs instead)

kitty pre eclampsia often presents in first pregnancy but not second scary though. I was about to have an epidural with DD for same reason but as the anaesthetist was prepping my back and about to stick said needle in, marked up and everything, out she flew. Phew Grin

cafecito · 09/05/2013 22:29

I had blue ones and gold ones when I was 9 years old. they'd be vintage by now Grin I was trying to emulate my favourite teacher who was a guy who wore blue suede shoes Hmm
