Here we are dear fellas Grin

OP posts:

Being raped when young was nothing compared to the horrors which came later!

Am very settled now; my DD2 and beloved GCs are in the next village.

I may have exaggerated very, very slightly last weekend about my home; I actually live in a very tiny almshouse! However, did not lie about our beautiful shared garden/absence of light pollution/wonderful countryside and my truly exceptional neighbour, Lily!

Minimammoth · 06/05/2013 04:28

Glad to hear you are settled Jynier and lucky you to have GC in next village , mine are a couple of hours journey away. We also have low light pollution and countryside, I get freaked now driving in the city.
Am awake with the itchy heebyjeebies. I was gardening most of yesterday so I will have breathed touched or eaten something that my immune system is alarmed about.

Minimammoth · 06/05/2013 05:38

Still awake here. Time for a Brew hope the work is still progressing 2and and that all little ones are well.

ohh Harriet I know what you mean. I hear myself and it's like it is Joyce hearing someone else.... "no, Timmy, don't do that. A tent peg should not go in your ear..."
It's worse at work (I teach children with SEN. Imagine the conversations...)

2anddone · 06/05/2013 07:41

Thanks mini h moved out the rest of his things yesterday so I took the dc out for the day. Dd slept last night and only woke once at 2am so better than previous nights. I couldn't face college work last night but am determined to do some tonight. Going in town next week so going to buy eternal sunshine.
Hugs jynier Flowers its lovely to have your GC so close, h parents haven't even contacted to see how dc are doing x

BlueSkiesAndNoClouds · 06/05/2013 07:55

Jynier, I hope you don't mind me saying this. You have posted some very personal stuff on here which would make it easy for someone in your real life to identify you. Maybe you don't mind, which is fine of course. However, it might be wise to contact MNHQ and ask them to remove some of your posts. It would be horrible if anyone who knew you was learning things about you that you'd prefer them not to know.

Obviously, feel free to ignore me!

themidwife · 06/05/2013 10:11

Thanks for kind thoughts everyone. I'm over it now & rarely think about it. I wasn't raped down a dark alley. I had very neglectful parents who put me in a room alone at the other end of a hotel in France aged 13. The middle aged married waiter had a key & let himself into my room every night & coerced me into sex when I was too young to know how to deal with it or tell anyone because I thought it was my fault for not fighting him off.
I only recently told my parents about this (& other incidents of being felt up by their vile customers - they were publicans) & they have denied all responsibility & I have gone no contact. It's as if in the 70s & early 80s it was perfectly ok for middle aged men to slobber over pubescent girls as we are discovering more & more in the media at the moment.

I totally agree with Jynier. Don't let it happen to your kids. But then I'm sure you wouldn't put your kids in vulnerable situations like that. Sad

jynier · 06/05/2013 22:36

Aaw, midwife! - How bloody awful!!! I didn't even know the facts of life when I was raped! Heard a statement today on R4:- "We are defined by the things that anger us!" So true!

starsandunicorns · 06/05/2013 23:03

Eveing all just a quickie to say hi as up early in morning dp is snoring off his afternoon session on the sofa

Sending ((((()))) to you midwife and jynier

That statement is so true jynier

jynier · 07/05/2013 00:58

FFS! Celebrity arrests of sex abuse are coming thick and fast! Swung over to BBC news and Jimmy Tarbuck has been arrested!!! Surely, he cannot be a child molester!

MrsShrek3 · 07/05/2013 01:25

why can't he be? Confused It appears to be a huge part of broadcasting culture as far as I can see Hmm

jynier · 07/05/2013 01:42

My XP worked at the BBC for 23 years and told me, a long time ago, that everyone knew that Jimmy Savile was a paedophile. I was so shocked and asked why no action was taken. Silence was the stern reply! I just can't believe it all! Poor little children - how awful for them to be abused by their idols!

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 07/05/2013 05:00

Morning all Grin

Jimmy Tarbuck? Blimey.Shock

I like Liza Tarbuck Smile

May it never stop till they have rooted out every last stinking one of them.

Themidwife that's a shocking story. Many people say I'm too protective of littlekitty but I don't care. I will continue to do all I can to keep her safe. She is my responsibility and so vulnerable. I know she's only very young but I can't imagine those feelings ever leaving me.

We had such a lovely day yesterday in the garden with a new slide, sand and water table and another BBQ. Grin

starsandunicorns · 07/05/2013 06:50

Morning kitty another bbq so jealous ours is still in the box sat by front door since oct 2010 waiting to be built !!

starsandunicorns · 07/05/2013 07:41

Aww love little ones when at the beach though my dd2 when she was 6 ran into the sea on her knees prenteding to be a dog ok thats fine but came out then rolled around in the sand she had long thick hair took weeks for the sand to get out

Dp says no point putting up bbq as have no gas caniaster we go pass a shop that sells them each week sigh

starsandunicorns · 07/05/2013 07:42

Would watering pot plants be the same as gardening

themidwife · 07/05/2013 12:10

I had a lovely weekend too - in hippy hilly land there is a well dressing festival every year (40 of them!) so we managed to visit 12 which I think is pretty good going! The theme this year was fairy tales. DD2 was terrified of a huge wolf with sharp teeth lounging in a trough (Grandma's bed) in a nightie. She loved the edible enchanted wood though! Grin

Minimammoth · 07/05/2013 13:08

Hi! Hippy hills wells are lovely, I passed one this morning, on my way over to the far side. My to do list is full up so I need to get off here. Watering pots I'd def. gardening in my book. I have planted, carrots, broccoli, spin ache, beans and potatoes, have also bought courgette. Lettuce is up. < shines Halo>

Minimammoth · 07/05/2013 13:09

Spin ache Hmmmust be what you suffer from after gardening, I reckon.
