After the overwhelming support I've received on my thread I had to start another. Well I didn't have to but I have found all the advice so helpful that even if I only receive one more piece it will help.

I'll try and post the link to the full sorry story. Never linked on my phone before so it may not work.

Esme - yet another ploy to avoid the skipping. What a wast of money that dusty old rope in the drawer was. Perhaps I'll skip on my own without you and then you'll be sorry.
lnm - don't go over the edge its so hard to climb back (although if you do go over I'm sure we are strong enough to give you a hand back over)- stick to tea tonight.xx

LittleEsme · 20/04/2013 22:39

. We're all rock n roll!
I have my ski socks on, my fingerless mittens from Avoca (I'm posh, me) and these are sitting rather snuggly on top of my IV thingie, fleecy dressing gown and I'm sorely tempted to stick on my bobble hat. I shall look like a twat, though.

Nurses are brill. They've brought me another blanket, a cuppa....and some oxygen BlushGrin

cjel · 20/04/2013 22:42

I just laughed out loud!! just as well I'm on my own!! What an amazing picture you paint - go on put the hat on please - Hope you have a good night and get some sleep.xxx

LittleEsme · 20/04/2013 22:46

Oi! cjel! I'm already planning my skipathon I'll Have You Know . And I shall sort out spreadsheets and wotnot for us ALL to get involved in.

LNM. Stick with the tea, I agree. You couldn't pass us a Jaffa cake, could you?

Grin (((hug)))

LoserNoMore · 20/04/2013 22:48

Bless you cotton ski socks, LittleEsme! The ward I was in last week was like the Tropics, I could hardly breath.

Thanks cjel and lowercase. Giving alcohol a wide berth for the foreseeable.

cjel · 20/04/2013 22:49

I think me and lnm will get in sneaky practice and we'll beat you easy then. I have to scroll back to instructions on how to skip first and hope my dgcs don't catch me they will think I am 'nutty nannie.com' as one of them called me once.

Hope you two lovely ladies get back on top of the world really soon.xxx

CabbageLeaves · 20/04/2013 22:57

I skipped. ... less than 10 because DD3 looked askance s at me and said loudly You are joking...right?

Ahem.

Esme get well soon. Epic fail on predictive text. Grin. Esme became Mess

LittleEsme · 20/04/2013 23:05

Hehe I'll have to dig out my two steel -reinforced sports bras first.

Right-o. Am going to call it a night. Dilys opposite me is snoring like a drain and I'm starting to get sleepy. Am sulking at the lack of Jaffa-cake or anything vaguely edible for that matter.

Have yourselves a good sleep tonight, ladies. LNM, put a good book by your bed to keep your mind occupied if you can't sleep. I shall check up on you tomorrow, young lady .

Oh and my hat is duly on. Think there must be a window open somewhere. I'm sure I heard someone snigger, the bastards. Bet it was Dilys....

LittleEsme · 20/04/2013 23:10

Hehe Cabbage. You skipped and survived to tell the tale. Impressed!

Mess? Freudian slip I reckon.Smile
Am warming up now though, regardless of my slightly eccentric/bag lady/twattish exterior.

LoserNoMore · 20/04/2013 23:18

Goodnight LittleEsme, book is beside my bed for such instances. Hope you're feeling better tomorrow and Dylis let's you get some sleep.

My rope has been in the kitchen drawer after my attempt on the day it arrived. I will dust it off tomorrow and start some extreme skipping boot camp style. I'll make sure I'm not home alone incase of injuring myself though. Knowing me I'd end up head first throw the glass door or something.

LittleEsme · 20/04/2013 23:22

Hmm maybe we should consider yoga or pilates. In the middle of a very large, empty room. With cushions.

Grin
LoserNoMore · 20/04/2013 23:31

Thats more like it, much safer.

Well I better hit the sack, goodnight x

CabbageLeaves · 20/04/2013 23:34

I'm listening to music and working out good beats for skipping. Currently on Status Quo Rocking all over the world... I want to hate this song but it's very catchy...

Night night all

bleedingheart · 21/04/2013 09:18

Esme I hope you're okay!

LNM- regardless of whether OW has modelled herself on Kirsty from Eastenders and is making it up, the fact he thinks it could be possible says enough.

I'm very disappointed in your friend, unless she was in surgery, middle of a police chase or fighting a fire surely she could have text you and said she was working late. Don't extrapolate bad things from this though. Try and give her a chance or someone else. Don't shut yourself off.
You deserve better than the shower of shite you've had lately!

JaxTellerIsAllMine · 21/04/2013 09:57

showerofshite made me laugh. Grin havent heard that for ages.

Morning all you poorly lot! The sun is shining, the cat is on my bed, the dog is squeaking for a walk...

esme you sexy beasty, I hope you prodded Dilys with something sharp. I can never sleep in hospitals. Between them breathing/snoring it drives me crazy. Hospitals around here seem to be set at tropical heat settings in the ward.

LNM hope you slept well, I would give the scary skipping rope a wide berth, you have history of injury, just go for a nice gentle walk in a field. No, dont, just do pilates in a group. Grin

Fairenuff · 21/04/2013 10:31

For those who can't skip because of backs, knees, banged heads, poor co-ordination or huge norks, try hula hooping instead.

No bouncing involved and very good for the waistline. Although I do have trouble keeping mine up (if you'll pardon the expression) Grin

CabbageLeaves · 21/04/2013 10:38

I can't keep it up either

lazarusb · 21/04/2013 10:43

I am going to start skipping on May 15th. I am in full revision mode and The Panic is starting to set in. Woke up every 2 hours last night - not impressed - trying to remember bloody case law!! My back is holding up at the mo so will definitely give it a go.

Hope you have a half decent day LNM. Hope you had a nice meal with dds. Esme, hope you are feeling better today too. I've never had pneumonia but my Mum, Step-dad and FIL have. Seems like a very scary thing to me.

LoserNoMore · 21/04/2013 10:46

Skipping ropes and hula hoops, you do realise we are reverting back to being 7 years old? Grin next you'll be telling me to buy roller boots! checks out roller boots on Amazon

Well ex is handling the situation really well...not. Calls and texts to my mobile at 3am and also phoning the landline. Drunk. Begging for forgiveness. I switched the phones off and have just sent him a large email.

OP posts:
Fairenuff · 21/04/2013 11:02

Well, lnm, you are two and half weeks down the line. He is still at day 1 - waiting for you to 'get over it' and take him back. All that you have been through and come out the other end, he has yet to face. And more.

I definitely won't be roller-blading, too hardcore for me. But I do know some hand clapping games and songs. They're quite safe.

Sherbert lemon anyone?

LoserNoMore · 21/04/2013 11:08

Oh sherbet lemons, yes please. I was going to suggest Duck Duck Goose but might be a bit much.

Yeah he's not getting it at all. Especially after his latest revelation. As if I'm going to welcome him back.

OP posts:
saffronwblue · 21/04/2013 11:11

LNM you are well ahead of him in geting to grips with the new reality. Take this advantage while he is shaken and guilty to get whatever you want agreed upon.

themidwife · 21/04/2013 11:13

Oh LNM you're handling this so well! What planet is he on? He has an affair & gets another pregnant & you'll just forgive him. Just like that?!! Shock

JaxTellerIsAllMine · 21/04/2013 12:01

fairenuff, not allowed to hulahoop either. Sad Its the twisty thing that does me in.

But I will offer you all Kola Kubes and sherbit pips. Grin

There is this 'new craze' and it is roller skating - there are a few roller disco things going on in leisure centres at the weekend. It made me laugh as we used to do this every Saturday and Sunday. And roller skates are the sole reason I have a scar on my cheek bone!

Exercise is bloody dangerous! I will stick to walking.

JaxTellerIsAllMine · 21/04/2013 12:02

and LNM - what an absolute fuckwit. As if you want to hear from him at all, never mind pissed up and having a pity party 'woe is me' - I would have answered, told him to phone OW and then turned phones off.
