Women only please - Please help me with a bit of research. Think about the question and answer A or B - no inbetweens please.

Consider this question – what would upset or anger you more:

A)imagining your romantic partner having sexual intercourse with another person,

or

B)imagining your romantic partner becoming
emotionally involved with another person?

Thanks!

I assumed that the 'emotionally involved' bit included them shagging, but there was more of a relationship there, rather than just bald sex (as it were).

I chose B as being more devastating because, as far as I'm concerned, my relationship would be salvagable after a one night stand type scenario. It wouldn't if in scenario A

harpsichordcarrier · 10/04/2006 19:08

why does B necessarily involve A?
Just because you are emotionally involved with someone doesn't mean you have sex. It's a choice you make. OR not.

Rhubarb · 10/04/2006 19:11

Right now he can sleep with who he bloody well wants!!! He'll never have an emotional attachment because I don't think he knows how to! He's a PIG and at least if he shagged around I'd get rid of him! But then no-one would want to shag Mr ShartyPants and I can't bloody well blame them!

There, rant over!

blueteddy · 10/04/2006 19:25

Both would anger & upset me, although B would probably upset me more.

zebraz · 10/04/2006 19:29

B) would bother me much more.

pipsqueak · 10/04/2006 19:33

B but would not be chuffed about A either!

Mosschops30 · 10/04/2006 19:40

B definately

but would be pretty p** off about A too

Why are you doing this research - is it one of those trivial articles stating 'in a poll 96 per cent of women said their partners could sleep with another person, as long there was no deep and meaningful chat afterwards?'

monkeytrousers · 10/04/2006 21:06

No, it's for my dissertation and I'm simply testing for myself a testable hypothesis from evolutionary theory. I'll let you all know what it is later Smile

woah! respect! Good luck :)

cataloguequeen · 10/04/2006 21:21

Well speaking from personal experience one begets the other no matter which one you choose.

A Angry

elastamum · 10/04/2006 21:22

B

granarybeck · 10/04/2006 22:10

I found B most hurtful, but A was harder to get out of my head.

longwaytogo · 10/04/2006 22:41

both equally as one will lead to another. Men should be locked up and only allowed out when accompanied by a sane person as there are some mad women out there that really make me sick, wreck lives etc etc etc.

Sorry just needed to rant, prob not the best place to do it so sorry again.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 10/04/2006 22:45

In the interest of science/study......

B.

monkeytrousers · 10/04/2006 23:12

Don't stop now - rant away!

Thanks everyone BTW! Smile
