real life challenges vs online misadventures, dating (and non-dating) thread 19

I have been to the pub. I'm not pissed but I am happy (well happier at least).

Conclusions reached this evening:

  1. I am pretty bloody amazing, and any man I choose to date is very very lucky and should appreciate this fact!
  2. Online dating is not for me. But I have learned from it that I shouldnt judge a book by it's cover and not to be so superficial
  3. Man from the weekend DID like me, he is either still in love with his wife, or still hurt by her and lacking in confidence, there is NOTHING I did wrong, and he probably will be back at some point, but it will be too late because I will have MOVED ON :)
  4. I am joining the gym and losing my remaining 3 stone.
  5. I am going back to my old haunts in Essex this weekend because I have the best nights out there and feel at home. I intend to drink, dance, look fabulous and talk to anyone and everyone!

So that's my resolutions for the thread in essence, less moaning, more exercise, to have fun and be sociable to everyone, less aloof unavailable ice queen and more friendly and approachable.

wow! i just checked the other folder for the first time ever, random people have messaged me over the years...why would they do that? Confused

Lueji · 19/08/2012 19:58

Lubey, that is great news. :)

I guess the lesson is that we should be as honest as possible.

Although, sometimes even we don't know what's up with ourselves...

AprilFalls · 19/08/2012 20:02

I'm ace Grin

lubeybooby · 19/08/2012 20:12

Lueji - yeah. He has only just worked it all out. The talking and shagging we did on Wednesday started to make things clearer for him and then my loooooong email and our subsequent conversation seems to have finally got to the bottom of it. The relief is immense!

snapespeare · 19/08/2012 20:21

lubey. :-)

Love how things fall into place eventually...

MirandaWest · 19/08/2012 20:24

Very :) for you lubey :)

lubeybooby · 19/08/2012 20:32

A day earlier than we planned, that should say. So I get to spend the last of the hols while my daughter is away at her dads, with him.

Thanks everyone :o

snapespeare · 19/08/2012 22:41

FateLovesTheFearless · 19/08/2012 22:57

Lubey - just aww. Amazing Smile

MirandaWest · 19/08/2012 23:01

Whos your date with snape?

ChaoticismyLife · 19/08/2012 23:04

Mr Staines???

snapespeare · 19/08/2012 23:16

Seaman Staines!

He very sensibly mentioned that I might be in a relationship with PM by the end of September Hmm (you might remember I liked his first message so much that I just blurted out honey-trap-profile) so i've agreed to a coffee, probably wednesday evening. he's 6ft 2, long dark hair, is a scientist, so I can legitimately call him 'doctor' very very articulate, smart, seems to love women and we seem to share a similar dose of kink Blush so having a coffee, see what happens on the basis that I maybe need to get my mojo fully, devastatingly operational, so I can point it accordingly.

lubeybooby · 20/08/2012 00:21

Awww snape :o that is so cool! When is the date?

Lueji · 20/08/2012 00:23

What kind of scientist?
Although I'm not familiar with anyone from Staines, TBH.

snapespeare · 20/08/2012 00:36

Date is on Wednesday, can't really say what field, he's quite eminent. (Bloody hell!) Nothing would ever come of it, he's 40 & wants his own kids I think, but he's lovely to talk to, he's just signed off with 'goodnight beautiful' & frankly, I could do with a bit of kinky fuckery romance.

ChaoticismyLife · 20/08/2012 00:39

Seaman Staines???

I'm going to bed before my mind takes me down any routes it really shouldn't go down Blush

ChaoticismyLife · 20/08/2012 00:40

Oops, sorry, great news about the date.

It would hurt to let it slip to PM and note his reaction either Wink

KirstyWirsty · 20/08/2012 07:31

Maybe you will meet and prefer him to PM Snape???? Wink

MirandaWest · 20/08/2012 07:44

I get the Seamen Staines reference :) Was a Captain Pugwash fan in my youth :)

Yogagirl17 · 20/08/2012 07:54

I bet seeing you all aglow from a bit of romance may just wake PM up to what he's missing. Failing that, you might get a bit of actual romance out of it from the good doctor. Win-win as far as I can tell! Good luck!

stubbornstains · 20/08/2012 09:03

Oooh, went on a date last night and it was rather nice! A genuinely nice, stable-seeming bloke. We do get on, and I'm going to see him again, but not sure if I fancy him. He's really tall! And tall and lanky just doesn't really do it for me....
