real life challenges vs online misadventures, dating (and non-dating) thread 19

I have been to the pub. I'm not pissed but I am happy (well happier at least).

Conclusions reached this evening:

  1. I am pretty bloody amazing, and any man I choose to date is very very lucky and should appreciate this fact!
  2. Online dating is not for me. But I have learned from it that I shouldnt judge a book by it's cover and not to be so superficial
  3. Man from the weekend DID like me, he is either still in love with his wife, or still hurt by her and lacking in confidence, there is NOTHING I did wrong, and he probably will be back at some point, but it will be too late because I will have MOVED ON :)
  4. I am joining the gym and losing my remaining 3 stone.
  5. I am going back to my old haunts in Essex this weekend because I have the best nights out there and feel at home. I intend to drink, dance, look fabulous and talk to anyone and everyone!

So that's my resolutions for the thread in essence, less moaning, more exercise, to have fun and be sociable to everyone, less aloof unavailable ice queen and more friendly and approachable.

Umm, although clearly not my Intention, might have got a bunch of messages on OKC from actually quite really nicely profiled men. Fuck me. I might actually be vaguely attractive.. temptation to bowl up to PMs doorstep with a kebab in one hand and a bottle of whiskey in the other is rather strong.

TimeForMeAndDD · 17/08/2012 21:16

DO IT!!!! DO IT!!!! Take a risk and bloody well do it! Life is for living, it's short, it should be fun while we are here. You are not vaguely attractive, you are bloody gorgeous! Go and be all sexy and seductive with PM. Right now!!

lubeybooby · 17/08/2012 21:20

Haha, Time i hope so. He just replied saying thanks for the mail and he has just got in and will read it through a few times and respond tomorrow.

So that's sort of good I suppose.

Just got another reply saying he really wants to try to give it a decent response even though it's not face to face and he will struggle. Bless him.

TimeForMeAndDD · 17/08/2012 21:21

That's very good Lubey Smile He sounds lovely!

lubeybooby · 17/08/2012 21:22

Oooh snape yeah... do it! and yes you are bloody gorgeous. I so would

lubeybooby · 17/08/2012 21:25

Fuck, I haven't got any wine. Need wine.

Hmm... might have some gin though... does gin go with coke, if you are really desperate? Confused

CrikeyOHare · 17/08/2012 21:26

@Snape - Sorry, only an occasional poster so hope you don't mind my nosiness, but I had a look at your pic...and I'm not surprised you've had lots of responses.

If I was a bloke (or a lady that way inclined) I'd find you very attractive & intelligent looking. I'd be fascinated & would want to know more.

Enjoy the attention. I think you need a good dose of self-confidence :)

CrikeyOHare · 17/08/2012 21:26

Gin goes with anything, I have found, Lubey.

CrikeyOHare · 17/08/2012 21:28

Like me.

Har har har Grin

Could not resist Blush

lubeybooby · 17/08/2012 21:30

:o

TimeForMeAndDD · 17/08/2012 21:30

A good dose of self confidence and a good seeing to from PM, that's what Snape needs. I do hope you are on your way to the kebab shop as we speak Snape??

Yes Lubey Gin will go with coke, just use more gin.

lubeybooby · 17/08/2012 21:34

Right. Gin it is then.

TimeForMeAndDD · 17/08/2012 21:38

I could just drink a vodka. Maybe it's time I became a grown up and kept a bottle in the house, for emergencies. All I've got is green tea or water!

CrikeyOHare · 17/08/2012 21:46

I'm exactly the same, Time. I never have booze in the house. I've always dreamed of having a well stocked cocktail cabinet so that I can mix unexpected guests a dry martini. Oh yessssssss.

As it is, it's a choice between lemon squash or PG Tips.

TimeForMeAndDD · 17/08/2012 21:51

Grin It's expensive stuff to have lying around 'just in case' though Crikey. I would feel obliged to drink it and then I would become a bloated lush, and I might start messaging potatoes. And shagging.

might just stick with the green tea and water. Grin

CrikeyOHare · 17/08/2012 21:56

But glamorous, though, Time. I would dress like Grace Kelly and have a cigarette in a holder as I mixed the drinks.

"Bloated lush" Grin.Grin

TimeForMeAndDD · 17/08/2012 21:59

Oh I love Grace Kelly, so elegant. I don't smoke though, but I do have some cashmere wrist warmers that could pass for those long gloves she used to wear Grin

I'm not really very good with alcohol, we aren't compatible. One glass of wine and the oldest of King Edwards looks like a Jersey Royal.

snapespeare · 17/08/2012 22:02

I smell like kebab. Not alluring. ;-). Gone home to correspond with my fan club.

criekey. You'd utterly get it too.

Wheeeee.

Gin!

;-)

TimeForMeAndDD · 17/08/2012 22:04

Awh Snape! And there was me, imagining stuff Grin

snapespeare · 17/08/2012 22:17

My hands are covered in kebab fat. Whilst a natural lubricant, yuk, no.

snapespeare · 17/08/2012 22:18

lubey. Honey, you're getting it too. .

TimeForMeAndDD · 17/08/2012 22:36

Snape I've just been stalking you looking at your MN profile, it says you knit, do you really knit?? What do you knit? I love knitting, was thinking of talking it up again in October, cos there's something comforting and homely about knitting in Winter. Unless I'm busy shagging by then of course. Which come to think of it would be cheaper than knitting, cos wool is expensive these days.

And I still love your new photo. You should smile like that a lot more. Even when you have your glasses on!

hatesponge · 17/08/2012 23:07

Time it's a shame you don't live closer to me, I have a house full of booze (whisky, brandy, gin, sloe gin, vodka, rum, wine, port, champagne, baileys, you name it Blush) but only because I never drink on my own. Though I might have to start to relieve the boredom now I am home alone for the next week as the DSs are off on hols with the Evil Ex.

They only went 20 minutes ago and I'm bored already!

Southern comfort

MyLittleMiracles · 17/08/2012 23:53

LUBEY try sending "it should have been me and you always, it was always you and still is. Love you" to your oldest male friend and former ex hopefully he replies.

SNAPE you are gorgeous and if PM cant see that maybe one of us mumsnetters (pick me, pick me!) Needs to come give him a slap to open his eyes.

I do think I seem to always go for the same type, my ex wasn't my usual type though. Tried various other types but always back to the same (and much enjoyable) type.
