real life challenges vs online misadventures, dating (and non-dating) thread 19

I have been to the pub. I'm not pissed but I am happy (well happier at least).

Conclusions reached this evening:

  1. I am pretty bloody amazing, and any man I choose to date is very very lucky and should appreciate this fact!
  2. Online dating is not for me. But I have learned from it that I shouldnt judge a book by it's cover and not to be so superficial
  3. Man from the weekend DID like me, he is either still in love with his wife, or still hurt by her and lacking in confidence, there is NOTHING I did wrong, and he probably will be back at some point, but it will be too late because I will have MOVED ON :)
  4. I am joining the gym and losing my remaining 3 stone.
  5. I am going back to my old haunts in Essex this weekend because I have the best nights out there and feel at home. I intend to drink, dance, look fabulous and talk to anyone and everyone!

So that's my resolutions for the thread in essence, less moaning, more exercise, to have fun and be sociable to everyone, less aloof unavailable ice queen and more friendly and approachable.

No, I totally get that, he gets a confidante, a partner in crime, home cooking, tenderness. All I get is sexually frustrated! Of course I'm prevented from finding someone else by my relationship with him, it's not fair to anyone I might date that I have this stupid unrequited thing going on for my bestie and I judge others against him anyway and they come up short, so it's all a bit of a disaster. I'm too far in to extricate myself with anything approaching dignity,so i just coast. Hey ho.

:). He could 'pester' me for sex as much as he likes. Blush.

ChaoticismyLife · 12/08/2012 14:02

To add to my cosmic list. I also want someone who is tactile, who likes kisses and cuddles but will respect my boundaries and accept the fact that sometime a kiss is just a kiss, a cuddle is just a cuddle. Someone who will also give me my personal space when I need it. By this, I don't mean that he leaves me to be alone but that if I was feeling touched out for some reason and needed five minutes of not being touched then he would respect that.

Yes, I can be contradictory at times Grin

Snape I'm not sure exactly what to say, other than Time speaks a lot of sense.

NikitasSidekick · 12/08/2012 14:05

So anyone ever had a success with cosmic ordering? I'm considering putting one in myself Grin Something like a marriage proposal by the end of 2013 lol

TimeForMeAndDD · 12/08/2012 14:05

Well, personally I think he is a plonker! I can't understand why he doesn't take things further, I really can't.

ChaoticismyLife · 12/08/2012 14:05

Oops, should have added that the personal space thing also sometimes might mean me being alone apart from the dog occasionally, even if only for 5/10 minutes.

I guess that would come under the right type of personal space heading Grin

Hey, if the train companies can have the wrong type of snow I can have the right type of personal space Wink

TimeForMeAndDD · 12/08/2012 14:07

Yes Chaotic I want all of that too! Grin

I'm going to do my list and put it out to the universe, I won't be including marriage proposal though, that is something I definitely do not want!

ChaoticismyLife · 12/08/2012 14:07

Nikita make sure you stipulate that that marriage proposal comes from Mr Right for you and not some drunk plonker, who lives up the road Grin If you're not specific enough you could end up with something you don't want.

TimeForMeAndDD · 12/08/2012 14:08

The type of personal space I want is separate houses. He has his space which is personal and I have mine!

NikitasSidekick · 12/08/2012 14:09

Ok so I name the guy specifically, do I have to say in what way the proposal comes? also - do I write it all down or is it in the mind?

TimeForMeAndDD · 12/08/2012 14:11

According to this book I'm reading the main thing to remember is to always keep in your mind what you do want and not what you don't want, because apparently the universe doesn't understand don't so if you concentrate on the don'ts, you get lots of them. That explains why I attract tossers, because up until now I have had a list in my head of everything I don't want.

TimeForMeAndDD · 12/08/2012 14:12

We need to speak to Noel Edmunds, he's the expert in all of this.

NikitasSidekick · 12/08/2012 14:15

Funny that Time, because I constantly have in my head "I definitely DON'T want ... " and I always seem to get it!

I have tried cosmic ordering once before. I 'ordered' that I would find some money by a certain date that I wouldn't have to return. On that actually date, I found a £10 note in a church graveyard in Whitby. It was almost midnight so nobody to hand it in to. Always put it down to co-incidence.

snapespeare · 12/08/2012 14:23

Am I desperate enough to try cosmic ordering? Do you actually have to believe in it? (think it might help to actually believe in something before I do it...)

time. He believes in true love, marriage and doesn't do ONS's. he's a fucking romantic!. Why do I have to go and fall for a fucking romantic?! Hmm

ChaoticismyLife · 12/08/2012 14:25

You been googling too Time? Grin

FateLovesTheFearless · 12/08/2012 14:41

Cosmic ordering worked for me :) two days after sending it, I got together with S. coincidence of course but still, it makes me smile!

FateLovesTheFearless · 12/08/2012 14:43

I do want a marriage proposal, I do, I do, I do! There that should do it! Grin thank you universe!

TimeForMeAndDD · 12/08/2012 14:47

Grin I'm always googling Chaotic google is my friend!

Snape you have to believe in what you want, you have to believe you will get what you want, trust in it. And Grin at PM being a romantic, I love that!! I admire him for that, makes a nice refreshing change. Doesn't do you any good like, but I still like it Grin

Fate did you write a list? Did you have to put it anywhere special? Tell us how you did it, please!! Smile

Nikita, I am intrigued as to why you were in a grave yard in Whitby at that time of night. Did the universe draw you to the grave yard just so you could find the tenner you have requested? Or did you have good reason for being there?

TimeForMeAndDD · 12/08/2012 14:48

Do you Fate? Do you really want a marriage proposal??? Really!! Grin

FateLovesTheFearless · 12/08/2012 14:52

Grin yes but I won't get one! No! Wait! Don't count that universe! I will, I will!

I used a website online, think its the first one that came up for cosmic ordering! You can write your order and send it through the website (cyber space, universe, what's the difference?) and you can check your list the date you ordered by, to see how much you got!

TimeForMeAndDD · 12/08/2012 14:58

Wow! Grin Does S know you want to get married? Why don't you give him a proposal as his birthday present, if he refuses it he has no pressie! Grin

ChaoticismyLife · 12/08/2012 15:01

The first site under wikipedia Grin

TimeForMeAndDD · 12/08/2012 15:03

Oooh shall we do it?? Grin

Am I allowed to ask for a big willy? Does that count too?

NikitasSidekick · 12/08/2012 15:05

haha I love whitby and can often be found wandering around the abbey late at night. Near the abbey is a church with an old graveyard - I was walking through that to get to the abbey and noticed something that looked suspiciously like a £10 note on the floor - low and behold, there it was ... all soggy and wet .. some drunk had obviously dropped it - so maybe the universe got the guy drunk and sent him up to graveyard Grin

I wonder if it will be pushing it to request a marriage proposal by the end of 2012?? still 4 months left ... Grin lol

TimeForMeAndDD · 12/08/2012 15:10

I love Whitby too Nikita, I've been looking for coach trips but have been unsuccessful, maybe I should send an order out to the universe for one! Grin

I think there is no harm in you asking for a marriage proposal before the end of 2012, you just never know, go for it!!

Ok, I've placed my order with the site Chaotic linked to. I left off the willy though just in case 'insiders' are reading.

FateLovesTheFearless · 12/08/2012 15:12

His birthday is next Monday! Grin he should be so lucky! If he wants me he can do the proposing and I shall choose whether to gift myself to him or not! Grin
