How many men / women have you slept with?

Assuming you can remember that is.

Today for the first time ever I counted and it is 14 / 0*.

I am 35. This is just under 1 a year since I became sexually active (started late...4th term at uni). I'm not counting youthful messing about, I mean full sex.

This doesn't seem so many to me and obv its going to depend when you became monogamous anyway. But, I have seen articles that suggest a much lower figure, eg 7 for men 4 for women.

Am I a bit of a slapper (which I would be fine with, I enjoyed it) or are all these people just lying? I think the latter, because judging by who I have spoken to 14 is much more typical than 4.

I am 50. I was highly prolific between the ages of 17 and 23 when I met my exH. Faithful during the marriage, only two since divorce.
So that's quite a lot in that 6 year period during my "yoof" . Only regret two of them.

I was given chlamydia and HPV by a person I'd been with for years.. never had anything else, despite being a bit promiscuous in my youth.

Regret about 3 of those. Have to stop and count carefully to get the number right.

I'm 32. Lost 'it' at 16, slept with 10 men before I met XP at 19 who I was with for almost decade. Split up, went a bit wild for six months and then met DP.

40 maybe/about 2 or 3.

Had an absolute ball during my 4 years of uni, and remained resolutely single the entire time just to 'experience' ahem different people. I can only remember about 15 clearly, but I remember having such carefree fun.

The double standard does still exist unfortunately, when I came back home to settle after uni, I was thought of as a 'nice' girl who hadn't slept with anyone at all in my town, little did they know what I was up to 150 miles away.
I happily settled down at 22 with my DP, and many years later have 2 dc together. When I'm loaded down with shopping, have a house to clean, and 2 kids screaming after me etc etc, I'm thankful I got my kicks while I could!

and of my 8, 1 was weird because he just sort of did it, without checking it was OK, without my involvement really, twice. I did let him sleep the night before in my bed though so (this was in the morning)...

Enough to realise some were a mistake/one or two youthful explorations but nothng serious.

I counted when I was very young but not since then. I am 32 and approx 40/1 (the 40 is approx, it may be closer to 50 but I am a bit too ashamed to count for definite, the 1 is a definite).

If we are going with 40 then 38 were between ages of 15 and 20 and the last two were my XH and current H.

mercury I'd say about 1/15 of them I have accepted. Maybe 1/20.

My '1' was a threesome with friends of mine who were a couple. Never just been me and another girl.

Like someone else mentioned my group of friends were quite 'free' so we just got on with it and had a laugh. It never seemed a big deal to me really but I would hope that my DCs don't feel quite the same way I did.
