Know that feeling, everyone else knew. my ex husband had cheated on me, yet I didn't for 2and a half years, so yep felt pretty crappy no one thought to mention it. Bin them both and learn for it. Life is cruel sometimes.

MyLittleMiracle · 25/04/2012 11:40

BTW it is good to have you back pringle just not good about the circumstances

TheSinglePringleWillicopters · 25/04/2012 11:44

I feel really on the wife and child. if I'd have known I wouldnt have gone near him! Didn't ever want to that woman!

Just can't believe he lied about his name and age too though!

MyLittleMiracle · 25/04/2012 12:04

Everything happens for a reason. I was chatting to someone for an hour or two on the phone everyday and texting to one morning get a text from him saying he had met someone, I have been on dates since, but my bestie made me realise what I wanted was my first internet date. I am so glad and gave me the push to make a move as in tell him/show him what you feel......

watchoutforthatsnail · 25/04/2012 12:06

single - you didnt know. you cant beat yourself up about it. Its truely shocking behaviour though, i dont even understand why anyone would do it, or why a friend of yours would let him do it... it makes no sense. They are both absolute cocks.

lovesineffable · 25/04/2012 12:15

clearly it makes sense to them, I mean there must be a 'payoff' or they wouldnt do it.
I guess they do it because they can get away with it, it gives them a feeling of power & control.

We may think that lying & cheating are rare, or believe that 'cheats seldom prosper' but then again we only get to hear about the rubbish liars, the ones who dont cover their tracks and trip themselves up

TheSinglePringleWillicopters · 25/04/2012 12:16

I'm more pissed if with my friend then the cheating basterd tbh.

Thought. I had finally met someone decent and it was all a lie. I never actually knew him

Zanywany · 25/04/2012 12:16

Sorry to hear about the date Watch, especially when there seemed so much potential there. Very strange that he would not sit near you but spend ages talking about boobs.

What and arse Single and very shitty of your 'friend' too to set you up.

MyLittleMiracle · 25/04/2012 14:01

Put it down to experience and move forwards, life is undoubtedly a bitch. But just sometimes life throws something good at you. I have been incredibly lucky with my new home, and I thank ny guardian angels for it.

PoppaRob · 25/04/2012 14:19

single, he and his mate are utter pricks. The worst thing you can call an Aussie guy is a "dead c**t", and the title fits him perfectly.

Snapespeare, my love, your "All those gorgeous women (and poppa!) in one room, filled with potatoes and one fit bloke" scenario would lead to severe performance anxiety on my part so you'd all be safe as houses!

MyLittleMiracle · 25/04/2012 14:34

We wouldn't all jump on you poppa, its not something I am accustomed to doing apart from last week we are gentle creatures yeah right, where did I put that angel halo?

TheSinglePringleWillicopters · 25/04/2012 16:58

poppa thanks. There as ad as each other. Don't need people like like that in my life.

Good news is I'm talking to someone and he nipped round yesterday at half 1 in the morning to cheer me up. Made me a cup of tea, had a chat then went back to work!

MyLittleMiracle · 25/04/2012 17:28

Maybe singlepringle the person you are looking for is already there, you just don't see it yet. I didn't til I got a boot up my bum. Sometimes we just can't see what's right in front of us!

TheSinglePringleWillicopters · 25/04/2012 19:38

I will be doing background checks on men now. Complete with ID and DNA testing Grin

hatesponge · 25/04/2012 19:50

singlepringle agree with everyone it's awful behaviour on both their parts, can't believe he went so far as to give a false name too...suggests to me he may have done this more than once.

It's amazing how people can lie and get others to lie for them - a friend was in a relationship with someone when we were mid-20s. She met his whole family many times over the months they were together, all of whom knew but NOT ONE mentioned he was married with children (allegedly separated but that turned out to be a bit grey Hmm) I was literally Shock when I heard.

There really are a lot of shitty, lying, bastards out there. ID/DNA and full background checks the way forward Grin

MyLittleMiracle · 25/04/2012 20:04

Maybe we should do so std checks and lie dector too? Are your intentions to get me into bed asap? Beeeeep Beeeeep.

MirandaWest · 25/04/2012 20:19

I wonder how lubey's date has been going?

TheSinglePringleWillicopters · 25/04/2012 20:20

mlm that is the way forward in dating now Grin

Il be looking for marriage certificates too

MyLittleMiracle · 25/04/2012 20:25

Just ask them on the lie detector, any blip and there out, looks like there are going to be very very few that pass.

TheSinglePringleWillicopters · 25/04/2012 20:33

Hopefully it won't happen to me again.

Hope everyone who has been on dates recently had fun!

TimeForMeAndDD · 25/04/2012 20:35

Time hahahaha brilliant! Grin

I actually was expecting some sort of negligee-type item when I clicked on the link, but it was much funnier than that!

I confess I am starting to get slightly excited about Saturday Grin

Snapespeare · 25/04/2012 21:04

TimeForMeAndDD · 25/04/2012 21:14

Am looking forward to tomorrow night - Mr Nice and I have been nicely emailing with each other. Not sure at the moment on what kind of spark there is but am definitely happy. And we have now progressed to the odd x at the end of emails Grin.

It's his birthday on Tuesday and he said he's remembered he gets the day off and would I like to have lunch with him? So there seem to be plans for a third date before theres been a second one Shock.

Also had a message from a 23 year old on free dating who said they liked going for country walks and he could bring condoms. I think possibly not...
