Parsley I took the middle ground and sent a text to the business guy about 20 minutes ago. Calling him up is just too terrifying, and email seemed a bit, erm, formal.

So he probably won't answer me ever, but I am resigned to it already so it's fine (or that's what I'm telling myself anyway to preserve my dignity)

it can be lots of fun..but make sure you see good picures before agreeing to that initial 'lets say hi' meeting (i speak from bitter experience!)

Poppa - your friend lady sounds a bit of a tease. I can't work out whether she is playing you or if she is genuinely nervous about having a relationship. Very mixed messages.
As for internet dating, I can't decide whether it works or not. I'm on Match (which I think is rubbish & really, really resent the money I paid to sign up). I tried Zoosk for a month, but that wasn't really for me. So, I'm now trying Dating Direct for a month. I'm definitely getting way less hits as a 42 year old than I did when I last did this at 36/37 years old.

Well, never heard back from the guy I met in the bar. I text him at 9pm last night, so fair to say I think that's a none started as well.

So that's 3 rejections in just over a week. WTF is wrong with me? Am I the ugliest/most undesirable woman in London?

I know people say don't dwell, but I honestly feel like shite today. It doesn't help that it's my ex fiances birthday. I really want to text him happy birthday, but he doesn't want to speak to me anymore.
