Phew! Had a moment of panic that I was coming across as a massive prude not having underwear photos. Grin

lovesadirtylie · 17/02/2012 13:57

lol @ DM Grin
I'll be leaving shortly.
Will set my pedometer, the walk will get me about 3k into my 10k daily total and I'll be passing the post office into which I have to pop anyway.

If anyone experiences an inexplicable sinking feeling @ just after 3pm, well, you may be picking it up psychic-ly from me Blush

If he turns out to be a lemon I may send a mildly suggestive text to one of the few men that I actually did fancy, in the hope of luring him over one more timeGrin

Snapespeare · 17/02/2012 14:10

oh. the disappearer has reappeared. is a five day silence unsurmountable when I quite fancy a shag?

DatingMinefield · 17/02/2012 14:13

Best of luck then. Wink

Is that the way to go, I wonder, incorporate errands into dating, then it can't be a total waste of time.

(next date suggestion, "Fancy a romantic wander round Sainsburys? I need a few bits.") Grin

DatingMinefield · 17/02/2012 14:16

Snape was that 5 days silence generally or 5 days not responding?

I'd say 5 days is ok if it's casual and nobody had initiated a conversation. 5 days to respond is not on.

Snapespeare · 17/02/2012 14:18

5 days casual, no initiation of conversation - given I hadn't initiated any conversation either....

meh, chatting away now - am not being all weirdy high maintenance... Wink

lovesadirtylie · 17/02/2012 14:18

ha ha, thanks..the internet is one big sex vibe! what with all the porn.

yes definitely fit dating around errands, or only date plumbers, car mechanics etc & offer sex in exchange for services:)

DatingMinefield · 17/02/2012 14:21

Cor, I'd love a plumber or a mechanic. Practical men are HOT. Grin

Zanywany · 17/02/2012 14:37

I had a few walking dates, thought I may as well get my dog walking duties out of the way aswell. Mr Yacht did think I was suggesting dogging at first though and almost ran for the hills Grin

DatingMinefield · 17/02/2012 14:44

Grin @ Zany.

"offer sex in exchange for services" Hmm, I'm due for a service. (The car, the car!!) Grin

adamschic · 17/02/2012 15:18

Snape, five days is OK, if you like him. No need for either of you to be needy at this early stage.

I remember that sinking feeling only too well. I was pleasantly surprised a couple of times out of lots of waste of time dates, which is about par for the course. A friend of mine met a date at the supermarket iirc.

Waves to Aurora, in fact said friend was on the fia thread too. I miss that thread.

Snapespeare · 17/02/2012 15:23

good point. ok, going out with him tomorrow night. third date territory! eep!

i said eeeeeep!

adamschic · 17/02/2012 15:29

Enjoy it Snape Grin.

DatingMinefield · 17/02/2012 15:35

Grin @ eeep!

Have a deep breath, Snape and enjoy yourself. :)

lovesadirtylie · 17/02/2012 16:04

i was right, nice guy but didnt fancy him at all, not in the slightest :(
oh well, 5000 steps there and back and i did my post office stuff

MrGin · 17/02/2012 17:03

I honestly don't lurk on this thread, but I know it's here and I found a video about dating that I thought you might find funny.

here

There is some swearing in it, so be warned.

lovesadirtylie · 17/02/2012 17:43

lol (she is waaay outta his league)

PoppaRob · 17/02/2012 22:10

MrGin - excellent clip! :)

lovesadirtylie - "a dirty sleazy no strings sex sorta website" sounds like heaven on a sick compared to PoF and Oasis! Feel free to share the name.

lovesadirtylie · 17/02/2012 22:23

poppa, it's several sites amalgamated, I often ask people from there what site they are on and they name a site I've never heard of and they've never heard of mine Confused
Adult fish dating uk is the name in my browser.
Today I have to admit I was caught out by the old 'take 5 years off your age and use a profile pick from way back when you were last in good shape' ruse

Or maybe he was younger than me??
It can be hard to tell, he'd sure as hell let the gym membership lapse tho..
Ok sounds cruel, but why misrepresent yourself like that..it makes it all so awkward Blush

strictlycomedancingdiva · 17/02/2012 23:43

Nice clip, MrGin Grin

Flanelle · 18/02/2012 00:25

POF is vile! It looks horrible and it feels horrible. OKCupid's my fave. It's a bit full of polyamorous people, but I avoid them. I've got four quality dates lined up :-)

hanaka88 · 18/02/2012 05:26

Datingminefield. I went. Not at all like I thought he would be as he seemed really overly nice and keen and way too smiley online. He's good looking, and we had a laugh Smile

PoppaRob · 18/02/2012 05:29

CharlottesMum5's post has got me wondering what's happened to BlobChob, ChaoticAngelofSamhain and MadameDefarge, although maybe they just changed usernames and I'm too dumb to realise it? Confused

MyLittleMiracle · 18/02/2012 09:04

Is it wrong to be invited out and decide not to go, even though i am on a dating site?? I am really waiting for one particular person to ask me out...or should i just go on dates anyway and wait and see what happens from their on? I dont really know what to do. Wanted someone to give me a hug and have a laugh with. Some only want one thing and i wont be meeting any of them.

Flanelle · 18/02/2012 10:02

No, you can decide not to go even if you've already said you'll go. You don't owe anyone anything.
