How to kick start my relationship with my wife?

CptCaveman · 05/02/2012 22:48

Help mumsneters I'm a married man of over 10 years with two young boys and my relationship with my wife has evapourated! I think I switched off after the 2nd child as we both put so much into our children.

I need to put more energy into our relationship and less so into the children.

My wife says that she needs to be cherished, loved and nurchured.

What are you top 5 ways of feeling cherished, loved and nurchured?

OMG AF reads Marian Keyes ("feathery strokery")

AnyFucker · 07/02/2012 15:51

CptCaveman · 07/02/2012 15:57

meh to The Daily Mail

they already think we are a nest of vipers Grin

KatieScarlett2833 · 07/02/2012 16:00

If Mrs Caveman reads Marian, don't do the feathery stroking. Also, I think The Fail already has an, erm, opinion about us......

OriginalJamie · 07/02/2012 16:02

Oh goodee. Was worried about Marian. Hope she's feeling better.

AnyFucker · 07/02/2012 16:02

has Marian been poorly ?

Hullygully · 07/02/2012 16:02

I have only read page one.

I am horribly discomfitted by the stroking. YEUCCH

KatieScarlett2833 · 07/02/2012 16:05

Yes poor Marian has been quite down of late.

She's much better now.

Her books are the only ones of that type I enjoy.

mojitomania · 07/02/2012 16:08

Maybe postponed though due to baking lots Grin

OriginalJamie · 07/02/2012 16:08

Marian has struggled with baad depression for about 2 years now. She's been quite open about it. I think she's great. I bet she's a MNetter

KatieScarlett2833 · 07/02/2012 16:10

I hope so, she belongs here.

YY to the baking.

AnyFucker · 07/02/2012 16:43

Marian Keyes should be a mumsnetter

In fact, I might be her Wink

OriginalJamie · 07/02/2012 17:16

MK would not kick asses in quite the same way as yow AF.

KatieScarlett2833 · 07/02/2012 17:28

Her answer would be "Dump the bollix"

Grin
AnyFucker · 07/02/2012 17:29

it's a gentle push Smile

Truckulentagain · 07/02/2012 17:56

'Just an update AF,Fairenuff etc so went home bouyed by all the advice and gave her a big hug and kiss and said i missed her and the boys and sked her how her day was! There no problems I can do it.. and that kick started a good evening. She kind of looked at me a bit bemused but pleased. Did the washing up and put the boys to bed after doing homework etc( which I normally if I'm home early) .So generally a better atmosphere all round. No chance to try any feathery stroking Fairenuff as the footy was on and she was busy as she put it "Phaffing" upstairs!
and so a short Cuddle in bed ( I did offer a massage but was declined) before sleep.'

There will be a thread soon 'My husband has started acting all weird'

She'll describe your behaviour.

She'll be advised you're having an affair and to leave you.

AnyFucker · 07/02/2012 17:59

gosh, truck , who rattled your cage Hmm

did you forget the Wink and the Grin ?

or did you leave them at the door with your manners and sense of humour ?

Truckulentagain · 07/02/2012 18:04

It was a joke. I thought you'd all get it.

I don't do emoticons. It's soooo Netmums.

AnyFucker · 07/02/2012 18:06

oh, well thank goodness for that Grin

[ grin ] without the spaces...it can make a world of difference Wink

AnyFucker · 07/02/2012 18:11

Sorry, truck, there has been a fair bit of sniping around in the last couple of days so perhaps I need to re-tune my sense of humour ...

Truckulentagain · 07/02/2012 18:14

I assumed there was a full-moon coming or
MN's have somehow started to sync their monthly cycles.

But I'd never post anything like that as it would be offensive.

Lizzabadger · 07/02/2012 18:17

Sounds like what you're really asking how you can get your wife to have more sex with you...

AnyFucker · 07/02/2012 18:22

don't start with the "are you on your period or summat?" bollix Grin

Truckulentagain · 07/02/2012 18:23

I have just checked though and it is a full-moon tonight.

Spooky.
