Continued from Makes post and in reply of:

Make just ask him. Why not? And of course you are going to be a bit of a mystery woman, he's only just blooming met you! Send him a message saying if he fancies unravelling a bit of the mystery then to get in touch because you would like to see him again. Be playful, be teasing, be fun, make him want you Make Grin

I'm pleased you are having fun but I do have to ask, is all this dating costing you loads of money?? New outfits etc Grin

Lubey - brilliant weight loss! I bet you feel a million dollars already!

Ellen - I was only Internet dating for a month and no one got x's Grin but then I live in a small town and not one single bloke interested me! If you are getting along with a bloke an x can't hurt!

Make - I don't think there was anything wrong with your text and clearly neither did he. I never really get the whole 'be unavailable and aloof' thing when it comes to blokes or waiting for them to make the first move. Obviously throwing yourself at a bloke and clinging on to his ankle is a tad extreme but expressing an interest is fine in my book. Smile do you think you will see him again?

poppa - loving the FAQ! Grin it should go at the very start of each dating thread I would say!

Morning to everyone else!

lubeybooby · 16/01/2012 08:23

Thank you stay yes I feel brilliant now that's the xmas extra shed plus a bit more. It's a very encouraging start which I needed, so phew.

Izzy, hello. I have nfi re: international dating, but good luck!

PoppaRob · 16/01/2012 09:06

stay, I'm thinking if whoever starts each new thread cuts and pastes it into the first post it'll come up at the top of each page so the newbies can get up to speed... and of course it's up to everyone to add their bit(s).

watchoutforthatsnail · 16/01/2012 09:33

well done lubey! thats fab. Im loosing some too, back on it as of the second of jan.. so just starting week three. using mfp and tumblr.

sponge - dont get disheartned, im not entirely sure im going to get any dates from this either. There are only very few decent ones, mondays date i havent had to cancel, because, well, he just vanished off the face of the earth.
And, im not too sure about fridays either. he was texting me all day sat, i got a text at 2am sunday morning saying he couldnt sleep and kept thinking about me, then we were texting sunday morning ( instigated by him) and then he just vanished too. i got la text a few hours later saying he was suddenly busy and would call me in the evening - which he never did... but he has been back online.
Im not texting nor calling him.....

it seems men are just as flakey when nsa is offered... bloody weird if you ask me

watchoutforthatsnail · 16/01/2012 09:42

oh and make - sounds like it went really well :)

watchoutforthatsnail · 16/01/2012 09:44

and poppa - fab idea - love it ;)

watchoutforthatsnail · 16/01/2012 10:05

bugger - not being one to beat about the bush - ive sent him a casual text. So - i shall know by the end of the day.....

Should he not reply, no harm done, and ill just unhide my profile and keep looking.

Not having much childfree time means i dont really want a date cancelled at the last min, because its then two weeks before i can do anything again, id rather know now, so i can lamely attempt to find someone half decent to meet for a coffee or something....

HedleyLamarr · 16/01/2012 10:40

Izzy it wasn't that long ago. I've no experience of international sites either.

Watch, blimey! A bloke turning down nsa?!? Shock

watchoutforthatsnail · 16/01/2012 10:50

i know!!!
really weird, esp when tonights one was pestering me to meet me sooner, because i said i wasnt free until this weekend.. he kept asking and asking and i relented and said today ( he was away this wwekend) and hes just vanished since thur.

Puzzling?

HedleyLamarr · 16/01/2012 10:54

Really strange. I know I'd have been asking what type of Wine to bring round and making sure me toenails were clipped.

Snapespeare · 16/01/2012 10:55

Poppa - love the FAQ, excellent idea!

watch what is wrong with men people. I was sat in the dressing room at the theatre last night with three (other) gorgeous single women, all of us moaning about how useless dating is and having a right good old whine! misery loves company! (one of my actresses fancies a colleague and he is coming to see her in the play one night this week. I have dressed her in a bright orange nylon safari-style pant-suit. If she gets any after that I am a miracle worker and he is a keeper!)

Have been asked out by the Martin Sheen look-a-like. Not sure that I fancy him from his photos and as I now think everyone (including me!) puts up their very very best photos, this might be a mistake. plus he does look quite ike Martin Sheen and I'm not sure I could get cough romantic cough with Tony Blair. But he does make lions for a living....which i find quite alluring...

Izzy one of my frends is meeting a swedish chap for a drink this week, she found him at timesonline. A quick google shows lots of swedish dating websites - I can't reccomend any through lack of niche interest :)

Did anyone see this in the metro this morning? I want to work for them! :)

adamschic · 16/01/2012 11:01

Well done Poppa.

Make, glad he didn't take the huff, some of them can get arsey. The 2nd date sounded great.

Sorry everyone is getting disheartened.

I've hidden my profile as I'm not bothered about meeting any ID's atm. I'm a little bit smitten with my FWB. It'll end in tears I bet but I'm a hard cow very resilient that hopefully I can cope with it when/if it does.

I had IM switched off on POF too.

Snapespeare · 16/01/2012 11:21

oh, I've hidden my profile on POFrogs as well. :)

Adams, I think it's fine to be a little bit smitten with your FWB - sex kind of does that sometimes, all those hormones rushing about :) and at least you're very aware of what is happenning - you'l be fine. look after yourself lovey.

I have sent an email to recruitment at personal dating adviser asking if they have any part time work. :)

watchoutforthatsnail · 16/01/2012 11:28

adams - so long as you know what happening, and are ok with it, then thats ok - but just take care.

ive had a text from fridays date saying sorry he didnt call me last night, life got in the way.
hmmm, so, we will see.
shall give him the benefit of the doubt.

DressingGownQueen · 16/01/2012 11:35

Snapes I wouldn't be able to get over the Tony Blair thing either.

I have got my first ever internet date next monday! EEK! The guy seems nice enough, my type and a bit older which means he might have an ounce of maturity (if I am lucky). I am bricking it a bit though!

adamschic · 16/01/2012 11:36

Thanks both Smile.

makeyerowndamndinner · 16/01/2012 12:07

Thanks everyone. I really hope I do see him again. At the end of our date he kind of gave a little nervous speech thing that included something about how he really enjoyed my company. BUT Blush I didn't really take it in as I was too busy looking at his mouth and hoping he was going to kiss me soon. I mean I honestly can't really remember what he said...

I feel slightly wrong-footed by the fact that he hasn't made any attempt to get into my knickers though. This is unusual! We haven't even snogged really - just a 'slightly longer than a peck' kiss on the lips. It's nice though - I enjoy it when there's some time for tension and attraction to build up. Bring on the butterflies!

He is gorgeous. I haven't been this physically attracted to anyone I've met online before. His profile photos don't do him justice.

But I think I need to calm down. I'm getting over excited. It's only been two dates right? This 'Oh my god I think I've met someone' feeling is premature. Oh christ, come and talk some sense into me before I do something really stupid like send him 20 adoring texts in a row (that was a joke by the way but you know what I mean, I need some encouragement to sit on my hands for a bit...)

DressingGownQueen · 16/01/2012 12:19

Sounds like it went really well make Smile Bless him and his nervous speech! I have a tendency to get over excited too so I can sympathise with you there. Just step away from the phone..keep reminding yourself that it has only been two dates and yes, you like what you see so far but he still has a lot to prove.

stayfornoone · 16/01/2012 12:25

make hahaha at the adoring messages! Get it out of your system, go write down twenty adoring messages and never send them! Seriously, distraction! Clean the house, go shopping, meet friends, shop online or if skint, window shop online, hop on youtube and sing/dance to music! No bridget jones 'imagining weddings' moments allowed!

It all sounds very promising, hopefully there will be another date arranged soon! :)

adamschic · 16/01/2012 12:52

Make, it sound really exciting and I don't think you need to worry about whether he gets back to you so relax and breathe.

HI guys, just been catching up your weekends news

NOthing wrong with getting excited about someone Make, I have got better at not letting it show but if I like someone then I tend to like them quite quickly.

Sounds like thee are lots of dated flying around.

HAve you got any dates set up Time

Well done on the weightloss Lubey

I think I may have messed things up a bit with Mr Yacht. I have been invited to my XP 40th birthday party which I decided that it wouldn't be right o go to it although I would have loved to see mutual friends again. My XP has asked to meet on friday though, his actual birthday for a quick drink. I though I would be open with Mr Yacht and tell/ask him, well he isn't happy at all and doesn't want me to go. I have told XP I can't make it but feel I have messed things up for mentioning it. I have known XP for 20 years so to me it would just be a catch up to see how he is doing. Just got a text from Mr Yacht to say he is hurt that I want to continue a relationship/friendship with him after how awful he was to me Confused

watchoutforthatsnail · 16/01/2012 13:05

tough one zany - id be pissed off by mr yachts reaction if that were me. You have known exp for years, and hes the father of your children. So, its best you a civil. A quick birthday drink is fine. Its not about being ' friends' but about just being ' nice'.

Snapespeare · 16/01/2012 13:10

harrrrumph. I will not be told who I can and cannot see. harrrrrumph!

arguably Mr Yachts text can be interpreted as 'I'm concerned that you would want to continue to have a friendship, however tepid, with someone that hurt you so - I don't want you to be hurt'.

or you will not see exes ever again, you will cut them out of your life.

think you and Mr Y need to have a chat to find out which one it is. :)

Zanywany · 16/01/2012 13:15

My DC's aren't XP's but XH. I was with XP for 5 years on/off, he was emotionally abusive which is why he can't understand me seeing him. To me you shouldn't cut someone out of your life just because they are an ex and I would be interested to see how he is getting on. I'm torn between thinking I won't see him as I don't want to upset Mr Yacht to the rebel in me thinking 'I'll see who I want to see'
