Continued from Makes post and in reply of:

Make just ask him. Why not? And of course you are going to be a bit of a mystery woman, he's only just blooming met you! Send him a message saying if he fancies unravelling a bit of the mystery then to get in touch because you would like to see him again. Be playful, be teasing, be fun, make him want you Make Grin

I'm pleased you are having fun but I do have to ask, is all this dating costing you loads of money?? New outfits etc Grin

good luck for thisafternoon! :)

DressingGownQueen · 23/01/2012 13:19

Just had an email from yesterdays guy. Apparently he had a lovely time and would like to take me out for dinner this week Smile

makeyerowndamndinner · 23/01/2012 14:02

Yay DressingGown that's good news.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 23/01/2012 14:03

Good news dressinggown.

Not sure what to wear for my date on wed. It's just a coffee date in the day so would feel awkward dressed up but equally I want to look good Grin Was thinking just normal day clothes of skinny jeans and a top and cardy tbh. Maybe heeled boots though as he is 6'2 and so a foot taller than me. Aargh I hate going on first dates!

makeyerowndamndinner · 23/01/2012 14:09

Wear what you feel good in Freakoid.

Personally I am one of lifes over-dressers which is one of the reasons I much prefer evening dates - so I can get away with dressing up!

I did recently go on a day date though - it was an art gallery and coffee kind of affair - and I wore skinny jeans, heeled knee high boots, and a form fitting polo neck jumper. Luckily it was a sunny day so I could glam it up a bit with sunglasses!

FreakoidOrganisoid · 23/01/2012 14:14

My friends have been spectacularly unhelpful and have said wear my normal clothes and that I always look like I've made an effort and look good. Which I guess is a compliment but not helpful to my agonising!

DressingGownQueen · 23/01/2012 16:40

For daytime dates I have being going very casual. My favorite skinny jeans, battered converse, subtle jewelery and an amazing jumper that is really flattering. I am a complete scruff though!

I am back from date. Awful, awful, awful. Bad teeth, stank of stale smoke (profile said non smoker) and he is either 10 years older than he claimed to be or has had a very hard paper round Confused He keeps wild mice as pets and lets them sleep in his bed. I couldn't get out of there quick enough.

makeyerowndamndinner · 23/01/2012 17:01

Grin Grin Grin oh sorry to laugh at your misfortune DressingGown but that is toooo funny.

Wild mice? In his bed? How could you possibly resist?

DressingGownQueen · 23/01/2012 17:12

It was all I could do to keep a straight face! God it was awful, but in the funniest was possible.

EllenandBump · 23/01/2012 17:47

My mum has wild mice in the shed...but i dont sleep with them...the rabbits do. I plan to wear my new pair of size 10 jeans (sorry only just gone down from 12), and a v neck jumper....showing some cleavege but leaving some to the imagination!! I have a nice pair of heels to put on too. Might buy a bigger hand bag though. Not got enough room in my bag atm really! x

lovesadirtylie · 23/01/2012 18:29

'keeps wild mice as pets and lets them sleep in his bed' omfg, is he a tramp who sleeps in random sheds?
were you able to make a quick getaway?

DressingGownQueen · 23/01/2012 18:33

He said he tempts them in with biscuits. The more I think about it the funnier it gets. I keep just bursting into random giggles Grin

I got away pretty quickly, claimed that I needed to pick dd up and legged it after I had downed my coffee. He asked if I wanted to keep in touch, I just muttered something about being very busy.

lovesadirtylie · 23/01/2012 18:42

his place must be a bit smelly, mouse dropping everywhere..or is that just your typical single bloke Grin
I've been caught by the 'photo's from 10 years ago' stunt before...should demand a pic with today's copy of the times!

EllenandBump · 23/01/2012 18:42

That is just ridculous. Tempts them in....how long before he has rats? I thought i had a rat in my garden one morning when LO was about 5 weeks old, eyes all but glued closed, running down the garden path, as it came closer i realised it was a hedgehog...how relieved was I!

I had pet mice when i was a kid, but come on wild ones in bed? Sounds like you needed to get away fast....i mean do you fancy sleeping with pet mice too? NOPE! Didnt think so. I know i sleep with my eeyore but thats hardly the same!

DressingGownQueen · 23/01/2012 19:41

Also, why would you actually volunteer that information on a first date?!

You are right about that loves. I would put him in his mid/late forties. He said he was 34, which was quite near my upper age limit anyway.

EllenandBump · 23/01/2012 19:50

We need a copy of their driving licences in future. PS do you think 18 is a bit young (i'm 23)?

DressingGownQueen · 23/01/2012 20:17

Depends what you want him for Ellen Wink

AbbyAbsinthe · 23/01/2012 20:47

Ew. 18.

Mind, I'm 41 - at 23 it's all about the stamina Wink

EllenandBump · 23/01/2012 21:01

Just a bit of fun, seems like a nice enough lad (cant really call him a bloke,he is a little young!) and says her prefers older women cos they are naughtier!

EllenandBump · 23/01/2012 23:00

Ps, by fun i mean to flirt with, go out with, drinks, movies.....not what you dirty minded person were thinking of....maybe that too though. Depends!
Really didnt sound good before. Sounded like i wanted him to be my toy.

Snapespeare · 24/01/2012 15:21

poor DGQ....

drinks date on thursday with the man that makes Lions... in two minds, but will go - not sure i fancy him from his pics..

off out for cake and coffee with DD for my birthday treat. :)

lovesadirtylie · 24/01/2012 15:53

it can be very hard to tell Snapes, unless you've alot of pics to go on..

FreakoidOrganisoid · 24/01/2012 16:57

Happy birthday snape!

Having a crisis of confidence today before date tomorrow.

On paper I am not at all a good catch, single mum of 2, no job benefits scum, can't drive, no exciting hobbies or interests. The bloke I am meeting has a good job, no dc, nice car, owns a nice house, great lifestyle, does stuff like go on snowboarding weekends. What's he going to see in me??

I mean I know I have good qualities, I'm a nice person and am not a total minger, have a lot to give in terms of emotion/affection etc, and I don't really give a shit about someone's job/car etc but can't help but think people are going to think I have nothing to bring to a relationship. Aaaaarrrrrrghhhhhhhh.

Snapespeare · 24/01/2012 17:07

Freakoid, shusssh. :) not everything is about the accumulation of stuff...you've said yourself, you have lovely qualities, emotions, tons of 'heart'... that means more sometimes. If someone thought you were 'benefits scum', it's unlikely they are worth your time anyway, let alone anything else.. :)

Coffee with DD lovely (had slice of victoria sponge) no birthday wishes from platonic man so far. Just as well. :[ very much aware I shouldn't be obsessing thinking about him anyway, this makes it easier to move on I think...

DressingGownQueen · 24/01/2012 17:45

Freakoid I felt exactly like that before my date on Sunday but none of it seemed to matter. The guy didn't seem to care a jot what I had/didn't have. If any of that does matter to them then they are wankers and not worth it at all.

Happy birthday snape! mmmmm cake...
