Makeyerowndamndinner I've done facebook searches on people from POF before and found them by looking through a whole load of people with the same name but when I have googled I have only ever come up with their faces on other dating sites so I'm not sure how you would find someone with a common name.

lubeybooby · 15/10/2011 13:07

Make you need to google what makes them unique... eg if they have a business google their name plus that, or anything else like sports coaching or clubs, EG one bloke I met was in a running club and all his distance times were logged online that kind of thing. Sometimes they are just not googleable but FB is good for a genuinity check, long as they have plenty of family on there and.. well you know the stuff that makes it a genuine facebook profile rather than a made up one just for dating or whatever.

Ok thanks. I know this guy I'm about to meet is a keen cyclist and works as a pr/media man for a pharmaceuticals company. Perhaps I can get somewhere with that information. This latest turn of the thread has made me jittery!

TimeForMeIsFree · 15/10/2011 13:24

Ooh I just remembered something about last night. This guy makes clothes too. He has 2 sewing machines and an overlocker in his sewing room. Bless him.

PoppaRob · 15/10/2011 13:31

Moving right along... the weight loss thing. I had to go out to buy a printer cartridge so while I was out I walked past the bakery and went into Subway and bought a ham and turkey sub for lunch. Yay me! Went out to the workshop for a couple of productive sessions and then couldn't be bothered cooking tea, so I made a couple of Twistie sandwiches and now I'm eating fairy bread! I've discovered that 5 Splenda tablets instead of 3 teaspoonsful of sugar make a cup of coffee taste like shit vaguely drinkable.

watchoutforthatsnail · 15/10/2011 13:31

I don't think you need to be jittery. Its just about ninimising the risks instead of maximising them.

A google of their username can sometimes throw stuff up too. Not that I'm a stalker. LOL

lubeybooby · 15/10/2011 13:33

Poppa splenda is awful, there are much better ones you can get!

OP posts:
PoppaRob · 15/10/2011 13:40

Feel free to suggest something less crummy tasting and I'll see if we have it here.

lubeybooby · 15/10/2011 13:40

Hang on I'll go and see which one it is I use...

TimeForMeIsFree · 15/10/2011 13:50

Brilliant daisy Smile

lubeybooby · 15/10/2011 13:55

How very odd. Just had a credit card and PIN delivered here for my ex. AIBU to go and give both to a homeless person?

of course I won't but it's frigging tempting

WTF do I do with it though? I'm sure as hell not contacting him to tell him it's here. Just destroy both I spose.

OP posts:
Makeyerowndamndinner · 15/10/2011 13:58

Contact the bank Lubey? Let them know they've sent it to the wrong address?

PoppaRob · 15/10/2011 13:59

Ta lubey, but it doesn't look like it's available here in Oz. :(

lubeybooby · 15/10/2011 14:00

Ahhh good idea Make! Yes I will tell them.

I should add I haven't opened them but I know what they are as I've had the same... from Barclays who have taken over Egg.

OP posts:
lubeybooby · 15/10/2011 14:01

Awww Poppa :( there must be something better than splenda though, how about Canderel? Even that is better than Splenda

OP posts:
TimeForMeIsFree · 15/10/2011 14:02

Send them to me lubey and I will pop to town and have a spending spree sort it out for you. The bank is very much in the wrong sending both card and pin out together! Can you imagine if they got into the wrong hands??

Personally, I would destroy them both.

lubeybooby · 15/10/2011 14:04

Time they are seperate envelopes but I know what they are cos I had the same card on my own account so have been sent the same thing. Arrived same day though whereas mine was card first PIN a week later.

PoppaRob · 15/10/2011 14:06

Over winter I got used to having way too many coffees, each with 3 sugars. I've cut back to 4 or 5 a day but I think I'll go back to my Pepsi Max and just have 2 or 3 coffees a day. One Splenda and 2 heaped sugars tastes ok, so that's cutting back a bit on the sugar. I know people say you should drink water but it tastes like shit and fish fuck in it.

TimeForMeIsFree · 15/10/2011 14:06

Yeah, that's how they should be sent, so they arrive a week to 10 days apart. If they had landed on any other persons door mat than yours they could be in town now buy plasma tele's Grin

lubeybooby · 15/10/2011 14:08

Wow Poppa you have a really sweet tooth! I can't handle more than one sugar, it's like treacle. I used to be the same though, three in coffee. When you cut down your tastes adjust, why not try that? One splenda and one sugar, you'll soon get used to it and it will help no end with losing weight.

OP posts:
lubeybooby · 15/10/2011 14:10

Time well that's why the homeless person thought occured to me :o I know his has a 10k limit so that could really make someones day :o

Nah I'll just be boring though and ring Barclays.

adamschic · 15/10/2011 14:11

Time, sorry you didn't fancy him. I've been the same with the last 3 dates and realised that there was no point in seeing them again. Just do a casual coffee next time first and don't let them know where you live.

I think you do make up your mind within a few minutes of meeting someone, it's always a lovely suprise when you do feel a spark, as it's quite rare. Then, as in a date I had last year, you are left wondering what went wrong.

Daisy, sorry if you've already followed up on this but I find the usual rules still apply and let him think he is choosing you so wait for a text first. I do get told off for being old fashioned but I reckon I'm right.
