This is fun Anyone want to join me? We could have a day of just saying exactly what we think to these morons before going back to deleting and blocking Grin

lubeybooby · 05/10/2011 10:03

I would but I'm not even getting crap messages at the moment. Hmpf.

dose of growth hormone is something to be proud of."

lubeybooby · 05/10/2011 10:09

LMFAO oh I would hate to be a prat in your way today! I'd just block the plonker now though.

Gosh, this thread moves fast!

Hairy I agree with stay, chill out! I didn't see anything wrong with his message, I liked it. In a chilled and laid back long winded way he is telling you you have nothing to worry about, he likes you but I think he perhaps feels that by saying 'if it works out, great, if it doesn't, then it was fun whilst it lasted,' you are keeping him at a distance 'just in case' as well as preparing yourself for the worst. I think yes, we allowed to think these things if we must we are allowed to prepare ourselves in case things don't work out but it's best not to let him know we are thinking this. IYSWIM? He sounds cool, enjoy! Smile

PoppaRob Have a look at low carb. If you want to drop weight at a good rate, without sugar spikes and hunger pangs it's the way to go. I can highly recommend it. There are some great threads on here if you do a search. I'm missing our chats now that I've deleted Cupid!

Hello to everyone else. Hope all is going well for you Smile

hellsbells76 · 05/10/2011 10:11

Yeah I've blocked. Would have liked to have played all day but I have studying to do. Have a good day everyone!

TimeForMeIsFree · 05/10/2011 10:11

Brilliant Hells Grin

watchoutforthatsnail · 05/10/2011 10:13

zany - honestly, he sounds so much like mr 3 weeks ago. Seriously, we had lots of text after, and a phone call and some chat on fb. And when i asked he said he really wanted to see me again. He just never actually arranged, or even tried to arrange anythng... and i waited 3 weeks for him to do so, because he said he was just busy ( also lived an hour away) Then i realised i was waiting for nothing, because he wasnt going to actually set anything up, so just blocked and deleted.

popparob - do you not think he will notice a missing leg? lol

Stay - you know, in two years dating, even if we liked each otehr before, met and then didnt fancy each other, we have never stayed as friends. Has anyone? Anyway, bloody nervous/excited... already :) and its not even until tomorrow.

Zanywany · 05/10/2011 10:20

Umm its not looking good for me is it Sad Next.....

Mr Guitar sounds really promising Watch

I'm in a foul bad mood too Hells so I think I might join you. Have just received this

Any suggestions?

stayfornoone · 05/10/2011 10:21

Watch - I have a friend that used POF for a while, she met one guy that she has stayed friends with, mostly on FB now though. Probably not that common though I guess!

Zany - I really think some guys (and probably lassies too!) just like having someone to text, due to being lonely or whatever.

I found splitting up with my husband and replacing food with cigarettes and tea with wine to be a great diet. Though I am probably going to die soon Grin

stayfornoone · 05/10/2011 10:22

Zany - A link to an online spell checker would probably be my first choice.

watchoutforthatsnail · 05/10/2011 10:28

zany - you know what, easier said than done, but id just wait, wait it out, leave the ball firmly in his court and see what happens. But in the meantime, keep your options open and dont expect anything from him.

Ive got one friend on fb who i met on a dating site, but who ive never actually met, for various reasons really. I dont think i could say we are friends though...

I did lose weight earlier on in the year, but my cheese/chocolate/lovely lovely carbs addiction got the better of me due to vast quantities of rum i have drunk over the last 3 months, and im back to being a little on the chubby side again.
meh. I shall try and counter act this by having as much clevage on display to distract his eyes from my stomach :)

Zanywany · 05/10/2011 10:28

I've told him he would have more luck if he didn't send generic messages to loads of people but personalised them [happy]

Zanywany · 05/10/2011 10:30

I almost feel that I have blown it with Mr Body tbh as I was in a foul mood yesterday too so wasn't my usual self, I would normaly wait a while, not ages, but the bad mooded me just wanted to know.

PoppaRob · 05/10/2011 10:31

time.. I've just sent you a message through the magic that is the MN website message thingie! :)

watch... it worked for Stella McCartney! Shock

watchoutforthatsnail · 05/10/2011 10:33

well, if its good enough for her, then its good enough for me!

watchoutforthatsnail · 05/10/2011 10:39

Zany - i dont think you can lay the blame ( if there is any) at your door.
Its wednesday now, you would have thought he would have asked when you were free again, or at least if you wanted to do it again. He was/is kind of sending mixed messages by all the contact but not actually asking.. so its only natural that you wanted to know where you stood and if there was going to be a second date or not.

In the summer i had a date that went fantastically, he was texting as soon as he left, he iniated all contact for 3 days and i wanted to know if he wanted to do it again and he said ' sure thing' and then after a few more days said that actually he didnt want to.

Its crap and i felt crap. But it wasnt my fault. I do now firmly believe in the fact, that if they want to see you, they will ask, and will ask soon. Work, living an hour away wont come into it, If they wanted to see you, they would make time to see you. Frankly i dont want to settle for somone that takes a week to decide if he wants to see me again. Neither should you :)

Zanywany · 05/10/2011 10:46

Thanks for that Watch, it does feel really crap, felt reallyquite upset by it all last night which made me think I'm not cut out for dating at the moment if I can't handle a bit of rejection but I have spent almost the last 2 weeks chatting/texting him for a couple of hours a day!

Probably feel worse as I'm absolutley dreading Christmas as its my DC's turn with their Dad Christmas Eve Sad

How do you do Cosmic ordering, think I'll have a go

ChaoticAngelofSamhain · 05/10/2011 10:53

Playing catch up at the moment but have to go in a minute so will have to finish reading posts later.

Grin hells

I got one last night from someone in Dublin saying he would be in Liverpool on Saturday and would I like to meet up for some 'fun' Hmm Some of them like to chance their luck. According to him he's good looking and athletic, no pic to prove it though.

Zanywany · 05/10/2011 10:58

I'm always suspicious if someone doesn't have a picture. Think they are either married or ugly not very good looking

watchoutforthatsnail · 05/10/2011 10:59

yeah, i know :(. Its more rubbish when you have been chatting a lot as well, because then you miss the texts and the contact and you feel a bit lonely.
Have been there, and suspect most of us have.

You are allowed to be upset you know. I think you have to be really tough to do online dating, because things like this happen all the time. and your ego cant get bruised quite easily.

BUT - its not you, its him.( and he might still ask again) But you will then have to decide if you want to see him again ( because its a two way thing, not just being his choice). And if he leaves it too long, then hes blown it.

Drink wine, eat chocolate, be easy on yourself for a day or two and then get back to it.

because you are upset, you are getting more upset about other things... like the xmas thing. And its proabably coming into one melting pot of feeling like crap. ( i was there friday, on my birthday, and it was horrible). Cry, be angry and then realise its not you thats got it wrong with mr body, and the whole xmas thing is another issue ( and in what way can we spin it in a positive light?)

Have a hug... dont care if its not the done thing or not.

PoppaRob · 05/10/2011 11:04

This going to sound really harsh, but I've learned not to invest too much emotional energy until the person is actually there in front of me. It's too easy to become infatuated with words on chat or SMS or over the phone. I find myself falling for the idea of falling for them. The flipside is that it's not setting them up for a fall either.
